Makes me feel OLD as I remember Karl Fairbanks' dad, Jack Fairbanks. He was part of the great Leeds side which won the Championship and Premiership in 1960-61, and a rampaging trackle-buster with ball in hand. He was a South Stand favourite. Connoisseurs enjoyed the skills and trickery of Lewis Jones, the impeccable timing of Derek Hallas laying on tries for "the flying dentist" Wilf Rosenberg and the security of Ken Thornett at the back. But those who came for the biff revelled in Jack Fairbanks' deeds. He did get sent off rather a lot. No sin bin in those days.
1st went to Bradford Northern in 1979 aged 7, saw them win back to back titles, can remember all the players Nobby mentioned.. Saw Big Brendan Hill batter Kurt Sorenson when we played the Kiwis, concrete karl fairbank, paul harkin all Northern LEGENDS. We reached the top of the Hill again in our pomp, but its dire at the minute, and Nobby is back in the fold
love this programme thank you all
