Congratulations. That's a big step. Think about this. If you are going to make a concrete road to your building site anyway. Think about making it before you build, not after. I don't know how long your road needs to be but do the steep part first. If it's in your budget. I would do it next.
Thanks so much! Thanks for advise! I think we need to do a modification to the road, the problem the trucks are having is the road hits the back bar of the truck (if that makes sense) we want to 100% happy with the road before we make it concrete. Thanks for watching ✨✨✨✨
curious to why you would put your container on a downslope of a hill, that kind of goes against the norm of mitigating water intrusion. I see a potential for rain water to constantly make the area of your home slippery and well wet as it is shaded as well, less sunlight and breeze may create some issues..However it great you are doing what most people dream of.
Hi Dale! You make a good point. What we plan to do in the next week is make a flattish ring around our main flat area (you will see what I mean in a week or 2) we then plan to navigate the rain away from this area. Most of our land is on a hill beside where we want to build our main house. We also plan to be developing a few other cabins, where we will be putting it all on pillars :)
Hey there, your project looks like its coming along nicely! I'm a foreigner in the process of buying my lot which i plan to build either a casita, cabina, container home, glamping tents, or any combination of those. I was just searching on the internet about installing a septic system in costa rica and your video was the first thing to pop up. I was just wondering what the cost estimate of a septic system down there would be. Obviously, as you two stated, it is an absolute must! What size septic system is that? And how much was the cost for everything (materials, machinery, and labor) in terms of either dollars or colones? Please let me know if you can. It'd be great to hear it from real people that did it recently. Thanks. I appreciate it. Pura Vida! ✌
Hi Thomas :) thanks for reaching out. Yeah it’s pretty difficult to get that type of information. It’s very exciting about your lot tho. Where will you be based? For the septic tank there are 2 options, the concrete tube option or the plastic already made option. We don’t know much about the plastic option but I did hear it’s easier to install. For our we used 3 concrete and the size is for a 4-6 people. We paid 2200$ for it but the labour was the most expensive. I think you could prob do it for cheaper… message is on Instagram if u have more questions :)
