mynameishabsah American dresses can be quite over the top but this jumpsuit wasn't decent enough for prom imo
+mynameishabsah I would want a semi fancy dress at least though... I think it's sad that Singapore is always so prudish and plain, I wish prom was more glamorous. My prom is this year, in a few weeks, but Singapore dress outlets selling proper prom dresses are either too cheap and poorly sourced, or too expensive.

The outfit is more like smart casual. Something suited for office wear and casual wear. There's a lot of maxi dresses in bugis street that are fit for prom or evening events. The dresses I found there are made from a variety of materials, most are leaning towards cotton, silk and lace. There's no gowns in bugis street. No beadings and no rhinestones. It's mostly maxi dresses.
If you were going for less than $50, I think it's enough for a top and a skirt. Maxi dresses there range from $30-45.
If you want something chic for your prom, you can go find either a crop halter top, crop tube top or crop v neck, then match that with an A line maxi skirt.
My prom many years ago, I got myself a daniel yam dress. I think this outfit is great for a date night, but def not prom.

Does anyone know where to go to get an actual prom dress? The outfit in this video isn't really legit prom material... I know a lot of Singapore schools don't have "proper" prom, and don't wear "fancy" dresses, but my school's prom actually does... :/ and my prom is in three weeks. I really want to get a proper prom dress haha...

You should try Haji Lane there are really nice shops to shop for good quality dress or go to centrepoint @ orchard theres a store that sells prom/bridesmaid dresses just when u walk into the mall oppo metro 😊

A tip for those going to prom and really want those long dress that is really formal, if really really bobian u all can go and rent.
But most schools no need so formal but I think this outfit is too casual for prom.
