When you first hear this it sounds incredibly difficult to ever imagine you can play it, but after listening to it and practicing it for over one hundred hours it's actually incredibly difficult to ever imagine playing it!
Andrew is actually one of the nicest people out there. My guitar teacher has met the man dozens of times and has played with him a half dozen or so. I've talked to him once or twice. Absolute gem of a human being
holy smokes! I played this in 2007 for my classical guitar final, and it really makes me feel better knowing even Andrew acknowledges the struggles of this passage
That part is gonna have a different ‘outcome’ ( for lack of a better word ) every time I perform it . Hearing the Master Composer of the piece acknowledge it makes a lot of difference . Thanks a lot !
I want to make a comment but preface this is that it’s just my personal experience. I think those of us who are musicians know that if we take Psilocybin mushrooms (“magic mushrooms”) and if we DO NOT take too much , the effect on our muscle motor control when playing any instrument is so much greater. You can voluntarily have greater control of the hand and finger muscles. This is because Psilocybin functions as a nervous system stimulator but also has other effects which some musicians find to be very helpful.

Man he makes it look easy. Even as a guitarist myself, it’s incredible how fluid he is. It’s almost like a magic trick
I love how deeply he listens to his hands and the whole guitar sound.

What do you do today 16 years later if you don't mind me asking and is classicl guitar still a part of your life?
@@starferno9194 That's rude
@@baitman2368 how is that rude i was just asking a question and asked if he didnt mind anwsering i am a student rn and would like to see his opinion
It's a great piece, and using alternate tunings allows folk too get into other styles.
Is this like an acquired taste thing because it doesn’t sound good.
Sunburst...the tune that made many of us fingerpick. TY for posting
This really puts your fingers to the fire!
A real guitar composer!
where is John Williams on tonebase?
I concur! It definitely took some patient practice 😊
Cool ! Happy Playing ! 😇😎❤
i'm happy to learn that even Andrew York finds this section hard!
This was my favorite section when I played this in college!

Silky smooth
I’m always impressed with how little movement the strumming/ hand picking is.
Hes not strumming, he plucks each string individually when you hear the “strum”
@@cyrusjeromeyeah dude I said handpicking… it’s like you ignored that last part.
Holy moly that’s insane. 👍
Sounds amazing would love to be able to play this What is the name of this guitar piece?
Sunburst by AndrewYork
Watching this ….I realize York's brain is wired different than mine. Brilliant.
Sheesh now I wanna buy a classical guitar
Thank you for this beautiful song! And agree, tough at speed.
What piece is this?
hardest part of the entire piece!
아주 개같이 열심히해도 연주회때 말아먹은 적이 있는데 요크형님도 어렵다 하시네... 위로가 된다ㅠㅠ😊

Sunburst
In a folk guitar, this world sound as he imagine? I guess it would....
Smoking.🤩👍
老爷子这厉害!!!
Yikes.. I find a bar chord tricky
Ok...
Tricky??? It's nearly impossible
Classical guitar is like the Chinese water torture of the musical world…
🧐🤗👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
one of the 'hardest' pieces I will never conquer on classical guitar is Gymnopo
Yes it is v tricky it’s a bugger and that wasn’t clean.
So,...then what...my 3 year old does this...
not that musical sounding, or impressive to me, at all. but each to their own.
cool opinion bro. I'm wondering if you have heard the full piece, or the intro to sunburst?
@@dexterrity if you like this music and performance thats nice for you
