  • In this month's edition, we see locomotives 6029 and 3642 taking part in the annual Hunter Valley Steamfest with them competing each other in their popular Great Train Race. Then later on we see 2705, 3642 and CPH Rail motor No.18 taking part of the NSW Rail Museum's annual Day Out with Thomas. Then we 6029 pulling a NSWRM train to Mt. Victoria in the Blue Mountains, celebrating 150 years of the Great Western Railway, not to be confused with the one in the UK, reaching to Mt. Victoria in 1868.
    Enjoy!

I just love Australian trains. They just have such a unique feel to them. And here in the US we recently lost all mainline excursions to new regulations.
For some reason 2705 with the face really works... I don't know why, but it just sort of... fits.
    Thanks for the great video!

    CANBERRA, YES-
Love that big AD60 Garratt quite a lot and you got some great footage of her in action. Personally I prefer the curves of the GMAM (I've actually drawn an anthro-ed version, hehe) but the bigger standard gauge one definitely did a great job racing.
Wish more rail networks allowed steam races, this looked like a lot of fun!

On the branxton shuttle after the great train race the garratt ran a spad nearly colliding with a coal train head on in the pacific national coal base after Greta station when the signal man just managed to switch it to the mainline in time avoiding a catastrophic accident and there were no steam engine replacement drivers either driving the 36 or resting up from Saturday
