Join Adam and Baz from UK Rock Band Massive Wagons in their weekly Podcast as they whinge, whine and moan their way through every subject you can think of.
Current affairs, family life, road stories... the lads get 'Triggered!' over it all in this hilarious take on life in a modern rock band. New episodes land every week. Obviously.
Find the audio version of the Podcast on all your favourite platforms.
Please guys, get “Back to the Stack” back in the set.
Haha its in!!!
Totally respect the difficulty of choice when all your songs are fab, but would love another experience of Back to the Stack live... The song that introduced me to you guys 🤘🙌
Its always gonna be in really bud, first time its been out since it was written, its been back for the summer tho!
Aside from the hits there can also be the live staples, songs which might be deep cuts in studio form but are favourites live. Stuff like Nails and Fee Fi Fo Fum. If I don't get to Fight the System at your shows anymore, it's essential I still get to party along to Jack and the Beanstalk!
You’re right, FTS needs more outings i agree! Ill see what the lads say
I remember the uproar one year when Bowie did a tour one year and only wanted to play his newer album songs, it’s not what people want to hear. Can’t imagine Leppard not playing Hysteria, although I always went hoping to hear Wasted, Let it Go and Die Hard the Hunter. Same with AC/DC and Whole Lotta Rosie or Back in Black, I hoped to hear Riff Raff. Fans only get to see some bands once every two or three years so want to hear the older classics, that’s what bands need to give them whilst adding in a smattering of new stuff.
The trouble with DC is everyone loves a different album, haha they could play for 4 hours and not please everyone, its oddly an enviable position to be in 😂
Looking forward to seeing you in December in Belfast and Cookstown. Can’t wait.
Its gonna be a wrecker amigo!! Set face melters to melt 😂
Love your podcasts. Had a tough time lately and they definitely put a smile on my face😊
Ahhh that’s lovely to know, hope things are getting back on track Lynsey 🖤
I enjoy quite a few popular songs and album tracks off all the different albums, I have started to really enjoy "Scorpion" off the Full Nelson album- don't expect to hear that live anytime soon... I did a 2hr Elvis Presley show on radio recently, and oh boy- trying to pick 25-30 songs out of his catalogue from 1954-1977, it was a fare challenge!
Crikey!! Scorpion haha fair play bud! To be honest i really liked it, i thought it was a good different song, never really got anyone talking like haha but yeah i liked it, Baz
Another great podcast really makes my week go smmoth and good after hard times n ur set in buckley was amazing in the triggred tour but would love to hear house of noise live too
Ahh thanks Dan! Appreciate that pal! You’ll be pleased to know HON has been back in the set of late, love doing it too, goes down really well, always thought it had a proper kinda dance vibe too it. Baz
Great chat it's all about ballance you can never please everyone with the setlist it's good just to mix it up on different tours 🤘
I agree, keeps everyone on their toes dosnt it 😂
Could you imagine the riot if Motorhead had ever dropped Ace of Spades from the setlist? 😂
Haha yeah, there are songs that 100% need to be played aren’t there 😂
My ambition was to see Rush live, finally got to see them at the O2. Disappointingly, they played a lot of their late '80s stuff. Mind you, they made up for it with a fantastic encore that included 2112. If you ever make it to Australia one day you'd better play ALL the songs I like.
Hahah its a deal!! We will play 80s Rush as well 😂 Adam genuinely would do that too haha
Ok best go get ready for firevolt...see you friday🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy Summerween ! 🧡
❤🤟
You boys and your KISS references.. you love ‘em. Keep it up. 😂😂😂
I remember in lockdown Baz pissin himself laughing at someone who mentioned seeing Hawkwind and they didn’t play Silver Machine.. that was funny.
See y’all on Friday..🤘⭐️🤘
Hahahaha i remember that G 😂
It does depend on the band. The current Maiden tour doesn't have any of Run to the Hills, Number of the Beast or Hallowed be thy Name. Some of the more casual fans aren't overjoyed, but the songs they are playing are good enough that they get away with it. And I've seen them enough times that I don't need to hear them anyway.
Other bands with fewer big songs are probably in a different position. Could Extreme get away without doing Get The Funk Out? Could The Darkness skip I Believe in a Thing Called Love? No matter how great their other material is, I don't think they could miss those out.
I am yet to witness a Massive Wagons Live Extravaganza, and would probably be slightly bummed if I didn't get to hear Ratio or House of Noise when I do eventually break that duck. (But The Day We Fell would more than make up for those).
Yeah i agree, it’s weird, some bands really do get away with it and some dont, maybe if a band has been doing it since they started then people let em get away with it 🤔 does how loyal fans are have a big part to play, its an interesting topic defo! Haha i can guarantee all 3 of those will be back at Simone point, Ratio is in 9 times out of 10, HON is currently in and id say TDWF will defo be back again soon! Hope to see you at at show we play all 3 matey haha Baz
Yes, Play Stonehenge!
😂😂😂😂
I remember a couple of years ago Amon Amarth played a surprise set at SummerBreeze one day before their officially scheduled main set. For the surprise set they picked a ton of oldschool songs, which don't make it onto their current setlist. It was bloody amazing! The crowd was so hot and it felt really special. I'm not in the business, but it'd be amazing if bands toured with wildly different setlists. That'd probably be a fuckton of extra work and I wouldn't want any band to suffer through this. But it surely would be cool.
It was a set to commemorate the naming of that particular stage after their manager (I think) who was also one of the organisers of Summer Breeze. The poor chap had passed away from cancer recently. Both sets rocked and agree that it must have been a hell of a ball ache to rehearse all of the songs. it must be hard enough to remember 15-20 songs let alone twice that.
That’s very interesting Chris! Im not a huge fan of theirs, but i love what they do, if that makes sense, i like that they did that too, takes balls, and yeah a lot of bloody effort haha fair play!
Great timing lads...hollyoaks just finished ya learning😂
To me the key point is that the band is considering the fans. Usually that's going to mean including a handful of their most well known songs in the setlist. Catering to the hardcore fans with a rarities/themed tour is also fine, though advertise it as such before selling people tickets. What you don't want is pretentious arseholes with so much disdain for their popular material and audience that they go out there and play exactly what they want with no regard for the punters who've paid good money to see them.
Couldnt agree more yeah, great points, you need to let folk know what they are in for before they part with money if its gonna be vastly different to what folk are expecting.
@@MassiveWagons Yeah, in general you'll not find me crying out for songs off the first two albums (well, maybe Buck) but for me FTS was your early anthem. I probably still put the song on or watch the video once a month all these years later
If a bands going to tour every year or twice a year, then fine mix it up. But if their only going to tour every four or five years, then they have to play their greatest hits
Yeah thats a good point, bands out all the time can indeed mix it up, playing to the same crowd you can do that, but if youre hitting a country once every 10 bloody years then perhaps the hits are a good shout haha
I think the argument is more, REM not playing shiny happy people. You go see Reef you get Place your hands, you go see ACDC you get some hits as they have so many. You go see Kiss, you deserve a shit night.
Hahahaha now now 😂
I really really need to see you guys again. Seen you once and that was at rockin the bowl in sheffield. Would love to see you at my local bar but cant see it happening
Rockin The Bowl was a bloody mint, what a great night that was!! What’s your local called?
@@MassiveWagons imperial music venue in mexborough.
Play the hits unless you've explicitly said you're not going to!
Agreed 👊 if youre doin summat left field lower the folks know beforehand 😂
Radiohead and Creep are one of the biggest examples, but they had their reasons.
Not hugely up on RH to be honest, the big songs but not much else, what were the reasons?
@@MassiveWagons they hated that it got massively overplayed and to this day to many people are known only as that band that did "Creep". They stopped playing it live altogether for well over a decade and then revived it again at V festival some years ago now.
Bring back SWT! 🤘😝✌️
Hahaha dont get yer hopes up D 😂
Paid a stupid amount of money to see Prince in Vegas when we got married. The only song I knew was Purple Rain, I think he was going through his symbol phase, it was awful!
Wow was a it? I mean Prince, thats a real bucket list artist, haha i bet you were gutted when you left feeling kinda ripped off 😂
