It’s even crazier to think that this play directly led to Fleury tying Patrick Roy in wins. He may be out of his prime, but you gotta love that story.
Its crazy that hes this good out of his prime
The absolute essence of "The Butterfly Effect"
@@EgirlPokelike doesnt this count as his prime then. Been watching since he joined the league.
He's still prime playing so I know what you mean but he hasn't lost it at all. Alway been in his prime Second to none.
This one is the Flower Effect 🥰
Probably the nicest guy in the game too. Awesome sequence.
That’s the most wild sequence ever. Flower saved the game
I can think of a wilder one
in OT as well!!!
pun?
patrik stefan vs the oilers
this sequence shouldve not happen. he trips a player outside of his goal, that should be 2 min penalty always
Flower is a Legend!! I hope his kids see the positive comments about him!!
If he’s a father the same way he appears in interviews and such, I don’t think the kids need strangers approval to respect their dad
The man is unbelievable, saw many award winning saves while in Penguin organization
Fleury deserves nothing but praise. He is a stand up guy and a great goalie. Past his prime but still a gamer.
If Fleury didn't skate back out there, Danforth would've had a slam dunk.
He missed the net on an open goal. Didn't look like a professional hockey player to me.
Marc-Andre Fleury now has 551 wins, tied with Patrick Roy for second place behind Martin Brodeur (691). He will never catch Brodeur, but he will certainly win one more game to take sole possession of #2.
thats only 4-5 more season to catch brodeur. its not out of reach
@@YZER19140 wins in 4-5 seasons?
You do realize he’s not the starting goalie on a dominant penguins team anymore right?
Have you been paying attention to fleury? Unless he can get back to starting full time on a playoff team you’re about 200-300% off with the time required for him to have a chance at passing Brodeur. It would take him over a decade to get those wins at his pace averaged over the last 4 years so no you’re way off with that expectation.
so play for a decade@@IhaveaDoghouse
You act like records cant be broke 😂@badtimingtommy
@@YZER19 I actually reached for a tissue to wipe the sarcasm off my screen. Funny.
Wings fan who lives in Ohio. Was at the game with a large group, many from Eastern PA, so long time Pens fans. Most of us were rooting for Minnesota because we wanted to see Fleury tie Roy. It was a great game. And then our kids got to play a game after this one, winning by the same 4-3 score. Great night. Congratulations to Marc-Andre Fleury. A great goalie, and an even better person.
What a Beauty
Fleury didn’t make a save, never touched the puck. But definitely messed up Danforth enough to miss crazy sequence
It caught the skinny part of his stick and slightly changed course, it's harsh to notice but the puck stops spinning in 1 direction
@@bryanferrerorgt5974 I really don't think so. I've rewatched it over and over from all the angles and only the original broadcast wide shot makes it look like that. The close up really doesn't show any change from the puck
@@bryanferrerorgt5974it actually didn’t hit his stick but u can still say he was the reason why it didn’t go in
He didn't touch it all he did was almost trip and injure Danforth in boards. He pressured Danforth only reason shot missed
Narrowly avoided suspension woulda tripped Danforth Danforth woulda went head first 8nto boards concussion possible broken collar bone most likely team scuffle most likely. And fluery out with a suspension and injury.
@@marccolbourne6976of course not, wtf are you saying. Neither players are looking at each other and there would not be any suspension lmao
Simply a magical experience
Flower is incredible to watch.. following him where ever he goes..Vgk then Chicago, now Minnesota 🎉
Haha umm, you kinda forgot a major stop along the way for him 😂
Un vrai québécois ! Tabarnakkkk de highlight !!!
Legend.
That’s a crazy sequence
Haha love it! Something will never forget that win to tie Roy!
Love it!!
Wow, is right
Why are French-Canadian goalies always nuts, lol.
Goaltending is a good outlet for the general French-Canadien nutsness.
Because France doesn't want to have anything to do with them 😂.
You just said the magic word: French-Canadian
Because French Canada is nuts, and some of them become goalies. lol
Sincerely,
Some crazy non-goalie from Quebec
France is nothing like the shithole known as Quebec. Wish the lazy fcukers would seperate
He never fails to entertain lol
The Wild broadcast made this soooo much better. Go find that video for the full experience. (Edit: Why did that video get made Private?)
Loved hearing the call of this sequence! It was 🤌
Seems like Fleury barely deflected the puck, or did not hit it at all, but the shot was going wide to the left side of the goal anyway.
Yet, if he was not rushing there at all, the shooting player would have had a bit more time to aim more precisely. So I would count that as a save in my book :)
Wild Wild goal
wildflowers man. straight up wildflowers 🌼🌻🌞
Save of the year for Flower
Incredible play by an incredible human that will be in the hall of fame the year after his retirement!!
No, he won't. There's a 3 yr waiting period.
What a Beaut
Amazing sequence. He saved the game even though he technically didn't even make the save.
Exactly he stressed the shooter
The best goalie !!!
With him pens won 2016 and 2017 !
😊
Флери ❤
Flower is a legend. Let that be known to all.
Gotta love fleury no matter what hahaha
*BJ’s player shoves the net*
JD from Scrubs: “That means he all mad.”
Fleury the goat
fleury was possessed
You gotta love hockey players.....unlike baseball, football and baseball drama queens.....Hockey players are always giving 100%....HOCKEY ROCKS !!!!
Is there a more Columbus Blue Jackets passage of play than this? The way the puck squeaks over the goal line. Honestly
It's unbelievable that wasn't called for too many men, there are clearly 6 wild players on the ice
That's what I was about to say.
Wait there's also 6 blue jackets players on the ice too
Patrik Stefan-lite!
He actually got his sticks shaft on it un real literally saved the game by millimeters
🤯
This was WILD!....pun intended.
Fluery worth the price of admission again
The US Air Force would describe that as a "maneuver kill".
Even if Fleury didn't touch the puck, I think him rushing there forced the opposing player to shoot the puck with more pressure causing that miss.
Well, it wasn't a save, per se.... but that was spectacular.
Second to none! 🎉
Was there a glitch in the matrix? That slow mo replay looks so weird.
Remember when Patrik Stefan missed a net and Ales Hemsky scored seconds after? This is almost as good as that game.
0:45 There are six Minnesota Wild players on the ice.
reminds of patrik stefan 2007
You’d think the announcer would be more more energetic and excited.
what’s with the chapter title
Save of the decade if he'd actually gotten a piece
A Roy-like play on the night he tied Roy in wins.
The absolute essence of "The Butterfly Effect"
Patrik Stefan moment all over again
No.
Extra man on ice. Made change before Goalie got back
Clickbait title. Fleury didn’t even save or touch the puck.
That's a trip. Fleury's stick took him out. Play should've been whistled dead.
the fact that they tie it up and then even win the game in ot makes it even better lmaooo
Everyone saying he didn't touch it, in slow motion it kind of looks like he touches it though. Maybe there's a better angle and I'm wrong though
I can't wait for the NHL to have another goalie era...
The loss can be blamed 100% on Tarasov! Faber's dump in would have been icing and that would have changed everything! Tarasov played the puck setting up the sequences tgat yielded the tie Nd sudsequent loss in OT.
Fleury is greatest Canadian goalie of all time! Hasek is 2nd!
Disagree
Rick DiPietro is the best goaltender of all time
The Columbus announcers sound like a funeral just happened 😂
Oh sure, this worked for Fluery tonight but not Jarry... The Penguins game sucked. 😕😂
FLOWER'S TO GOOD
Amazing moment, announcers sound about one Valium away from a nap tho 💤
I lost a bet and it cost me a bottle of JD and a case of beer! First Johansson's trickle goal and that insane Fleurey glove of that last one timer! Congrats to Flower 551 NHL Wins!!!
Imagine making that kind of money and missing the open net from 10-15 feet away. Would have been one thing if Fleury got a piece of it but to miss it far post is just brutal lol
It looked to me like the shot missed the net anyway without even hitting Fleury. Did it?
Lou!!!!!!!!!
わぉ!😮
I love Fleury, one of my all time favorite goalies, but in all honesty, watching this over and over, I think he had very little to do with Danforth missing the shot. The pressure from the chasing Wild player and just simply missing the net had more to do with it than anything. I wish it had of hit him for a save but it doesn't appear to and the shot was going wide regardless... Looks great on the screen and all and with him still being on the ice it did change the dynamic of how the wild went back up the ice but yeah... Dude just missed the empty net. "Makes diving save" is very misleading in the title.
Where's the save? What save? I don't see a shot on goal. Funny though.
That was an absolutely nuts play by Flower. However, the bluejackets coach is right. There are 6 Wild players on the ice including Flower. Still doesn't take away from the outstanding play of Flower.
too late to change it now lol.
He didn't touch the puck just pressured Danforth. Then almost tripped him in corner. Which would have made this play a lot different with penalty and whistle.
He just lucky Danforth didn't want to get tripped and moved/ contortioned outa way cuz they so close to boards he didn't want to get hurt and have to have his team beat old timer fluery.
Dipoetro NY vs pit early or mid 2000s most penalty minutes ever because game before this same play dipietro did tripping and injuring someone and there was a dirty check injuring another someone
So next game had so many penalties it couldn't finish. Wvweyone got thrown out dipietro got beat up by pit backup can't think of name best fighting goalie ever tho he baet up dipietro and defence man at same time.
Dipietro got broken nose and or jaw. They benched him the next time they played pit.
He just threw a dead duck wide of the net. Cost them a late goal and ultimately the game.
Flower power.
Is the announcer asleep
So he didn't make the save?
Хера се , чудеса да и только ! Не забили в пустые ворота и тут же в ответной атаке пропустили ☹️
He didn't actually save it though Danforth missed
Could be argued Fleury for tripping. Jackets coach should have went for that angle instead.
Yes everybody he missed the net and flower didnt save it but antics im sure rushed that shot which he missed. So yes it was a fluke but he didnt score. Whatever works.
Wasn't a save, Danforth missed the net. Still a cool sequence tho
Still would've gone in without Fleury being there
@@zabrid9143 he's slow excuse him
Was just making a comment that it wasn't a save, didn't mean to offend the Wild fans 😂
I'm not even a Wild fan @@bmgrosso
@@bmgrossodidn’t offend anyone. Just a guy correcting a typo
Same old Flower
Pretty weak, using the CBJ broadcast for this.
Classic Columbus goaltending this year letting in that softy
"Too many men on the ice."
Just goes to show people will say whatever bullshit and lies to avoid embarrassment..
what an underwhelming announcer on this crazy play
Tripping?
Deja vue
He missed the net lol
Eew.....
These commentators really need to get better. A crazy sequence of events and this guy sounds like he's at the library. Get hyped, yell a bit, show some enthusiasm.
It's like they didn't pull the goalie at all.
Yeah he didn’t make a save on that play
