Even the concepts of Buddhism, Sikhism are driven by Sanatan Dharm. The time religion concept came the law books entered in human's mind, conversion began, diversification began, the urge to prove superiority started. The religion concept is foreign to us.

Religion is most probably the general teem used to describe particular faith & belief and the aspects of life including spirtuality & morality.
On the other side Deen & Dharm are considered the same as i mention above but "Deen" with some moral principles & ethical conduct And "Dharm" with some ethical duties & responsibilities and much more. They are technically same but one with Islamic other one with Sanatani
I find nothing wrong as taking Dharm or Deen as Religion cause religion is the general term and the primary word to describe : beliefs, worshiping & practices (including ethical duties & spirtuality)
