I’ve been watching these reactions for 3 years, at least once a week and I am still brought to tears. Yebba is from West Memphis Arkansas and was raised in the church ( where her father was a preacher. And yes, Yebba is in a class of her own.
Just wanted to add this for you, Ed Sheeran said he was there for this performance, overwhelmed, and cried. He approached Abbey and he signed her. ❤️

I heard this song by accident, right after I found out my husband of 35 years and five kids cheated on me...I sobbed for hours! She sang my heart!😢
I'm sorry to hear that! No one deserves to be cheating on period let alone after putting so much time in and creating life together. I hope you have healed from that experience and moved on so you can enjoy life again and your kids can see you happy
RIGHT! This is for everyone that has ever been cheated on or left for someone else. I always seemed to be the one before the guy married or coupled with someone else but the they never get over me. So I really felt that one line "No way, no way, she can't take you away from me. I sure won't stay, but I'll be damned if I ever leave".
From the outside looking in, its like " why didnt you just leave? Must not have been that bad." but then when this shit happens to you, and the conditions are right, its like, some one knocked the breath out of you and then, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!..... I love how you say you fell in love and went through the heartbreak just in the first minute or so. She genuinely takes you there. And if you’ve ever been on either side of this relationship situation, you can’t help but feel either the deep anger and loss, or the deep guilt and loss of what was destroyed.
She’s truly extraordinary.
Yebba is a force of nature. I'm sure people will suggest her great stuff but Tiny Desk, Age of Worry, Gravity, October Sky, Boomerang (live), Evergreen, etc are all fantastic. She's worked with a ton of people , Ed Sheeran, Drake, Lucky Daye, Marc Ronson, PJ Morton, etc. Why she isn't internationally famous I have no idea.

About a week after this performance, her mother committed suicide. Her first single Evergreen is a song about her mother, and there is a live version of it available on you tube where she performs it in the church she and her mother used to attend. It's a must see. This girl is special.

I absolutely love this reaction. I’ve seen people get the stank face with Yebba but you had the “I have been personally victimized by this woman’s voice” face and it was perfect.
This is the reaction I have been waiting for! I was speechless when I'first heard her sing this song. I struggled to forrm words. I had to sit there and process what I had just watched and I became obsessed with her voice. This is my favorite reaction. It's the one her performance deserves. Have you listened to any Chris Stapleton yet? If not, after you go down the Yebba rabbit hole, I highly recommend you check him out. I have a whole list for him.

There's two performances with Justin Timberlake you have to see. The first one is:
Say Something (video) and the other is from the 2015 CMA'S: Tennessee Whiskey & I Can't Drink You Away.
Pay attention to the video for Say Something, it's pretty cool. And the performances for Tennessee Whiskey & I Can't Drink You Away is the male equivalent of Yebba's performance of My Mind. It is one of THE BEST live performances I've ever seen.
A couple of things you should know:
I'm a 59 year old black woman who loves r&b but I can listen to Chris all day.
Chris is considered a country singer but he's not. If anything, he's a blues singer with some country and r&b tendencies.
His voice is amazing on his records but it's even better live.
The woman you see on stage singing back up is his wife.

I second aaaalllll of this!!! I would just like to add one more voice that is on the same "must watch" level to give you goosies, and that is miss Shoshana Bean. Her rendition of Make It Rain had me throwing every shoe I had at my screen, lol. Another good one is All to Me, done as a duet with equally talented Scott Hoying, of Pentatonix.........a group which has a whole 300 video rabbit hole that will send you into a mental hospital, in the best way lol!

It’s almost impossible not to feel every emotion during this performance. She sung her soul out. I heard it before and no lie I thought it was a black woman at first. When I saw the actual performance and the emotions….speechless!!!!! Huge fan!!!!!!

1) I had gone through something like this when I first listened to this. when I tell you, that I was SOBBING.
2) Her mom had just committed suicide 2 weeks before this performance, so she was already in an emotional state
3) She had the AUDACITY to calmly & quietly say “That’s that one” after she DRAGGED us and took us to CHURCH. 😂

It's so nice to have someone like her sing... Yea there is music out there today that is fun to sing and listen to, but what most artist fail to do is to make the person listening to the song actually feel something deep in their souls.
I 100% agree! That is something the new generation of singers lack nowadays so it is amazing when you find someone who delivers that emotion
