Baby girl looking up at you is the cutest thing!🥰
She is so adorable! It seems like she is actually trying to read Sarahs lips. LOL
Peace's smile is absolutely precious.
I have loved homeschooling our 10 children over all these years. It has been the best decision for so many reasons. We started in 1985 . Child #9 graduated last year and #10 is a high school junior. One subject I struggled with was teaching a child to read. We have had a few students who really struggled with starting to read. One such child is starting her first year as a new teacher so she did learn to read😉 But it was so stressful to me listening to her repeatedly sound out word after word...especially when there were so many things screaming for my attention😊 So we would do her phonics lesson early in the morning in my bed....if the day started all the busyness had me avoiding sitting down and plodding through phonics with her. We would lay in bed and she would scratch my back.....I could listen to anything in exchange for a back scratch!! My daughter and I laugh together now remembering me saying” scratch harder Mary” when she would for the hundredth time sound out the same word sound by sound. Her new principal was interested in her homeschool experience especially knowing Mary has struggled with dyslexia issues. She told him this story and he found it quite funny...and a bit clever😀
This is what I love about homeschooling! The flexibility! You can change it up every year to suit everyone’s needs. I love that freedom!
LOVE seeing this all detailed out!
My girls put the Little House on the Prairie bonnet on like that too!
Goodness Peace is so sweet!
Making learning fun and interesting is key and a lifelong process
Yes so true about learning. I homeschooled my children and my oldest son is now finishing his masters degree and wants to go on to his doctorate. It fosters a life of learning and enjoyment.
I love when teachers teach with EXPRESSION , as if they love their job ! So many fail at this …
Hey Sarah! Remove some one the leafs from the tomato plants! So that way the sun can help ripen them much faster ! Once they turn orange remove from the plant and keep on the window for the sun and they will turn red ! Little Italian trick 🥰😘
Your family is so very lucky to have you. It's easy to tell you love parenting with that great smile all the time. Add to your wonderful attitude, great organizational skills, everyone should thrive & it's a pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing & continued successes.
Sarah is truly an amazing Mother. The way Sarah and Solo FULLY embrace Parenting and keeping Family at the very center of their lives is truly a testament.
Love your attitude and even though I didn't homeschool my 8,I lived being a mom to little ones.I did daycare in home and we learned alot, and I miss those days so much.Lucky for me I'm blessed with 21 grands to share fun with.Love you guys! Hugs from Missouri 🤗 ❤️
When Peace looks at you smiling it melts my heart. All of the children are so cute.
Sounds like your school year is very organized. You could write programs to sell to other parents who are interested.
I homeschooled seven and used Sonlight very much in the same way you are using it. I loved the independence it developed for them.
Love the dress up clothes!! Love how Peace looks at you !! Home schooling will keep you busy !! 😀😀
We use Sonlight too! I love your book recording idea! That is brilliant! ❤️
A great canning tomato is called healthkick. Very uniform and prolific even though determinate. It tends to ripen all at the same time in 2 or 3 waves, a good thing if you are canning. If you pick, let sit for a few days since they may look ripe but they will be better on the inside after a rest. They are good both for sauce or any other tomato use. Technically a paste type but they are juicy enough for other uses. ❤️
Excellent! Sarah your organizational skills are epic. God Bless!
You are absolutely an amazing mama! I admire you so much!
Thanks!
@@OurTribeofMany you’re welcome ☺️
Peace seem's to be so sweet, i love her smile.. all of your children seem to be lovely. Sarah you and Solo hit the jackpot with each other.🥰☺️🤍💜🙏🙏
I am not a homeschooling mom, but with one in 4th grade who struggles to stay on task im thankful the that her teacher is giving us a weekly list of Daily assignments, and a message both in her binder and in my email going over the week. I copy down her assignments and spelling words to a weekly planner so dad or I can go over and ask specifically if she's done her work or needs help. The 2 1/2 yo little sister definitely doesn't help stay focused since she loves to be involved and hands on in everything we do. It's nice because shes learning different skills but can get a bit in the way on other things. The school laptop is definitely one thing I don't want little one around! It travels back and forth from school to home every school day so I definitely worry about damage!
Thankfully we are in Texas, so there is not alot of “submitting/tracking” for my kiddos.
I do keep an excel spreadsheet for attendance & what lessons they did that day…but that’s just for me personally.
I use majority The Good & The Beautiful. LOVE IT! Very cost effective & kid friendly.
I use Science from Alpha Omega. It’s okay….but I only used it since The Good & The Beautiful don’t have a set in stone Science for grade “levels”.
TG&TB - highly recommend!!
Also wanna note - we homeschool 4 days a week. Typically Monday-Thursday. Twice a month we do “field trips” to get outta the house and see other kiddos.
We have church on Wednesdays and Sundays, so lots of fun & kid time! 😁
My kids are already a grade level ahead of their peers & by the end of December will be 2 grade levels ahead 😅 and that’s with a very relaxed schedule! (4 days a week, and one lesson of each subject a day.)
I’m laughing at the green ball up on the ledge as you are climbing the stairs. Kids!! Lol!
Peace looks just like her Daddy. Too cute!
Sarah you look so young with your glasses on, if fact you looked like you had just come in from high school I was wanting to ask if you wanted milk and a snack lol, and my mother could never have done this for the 8 off us, I am sure 8am was her fav time of day when we all left for school. have a blessed week xoxoxox
I have home-schooled my daughter since year 8. She graduates year 12 on 24th November. I have loved home-schooling her, but I also can't wait till November when we close the school chapter and start the next chapter in our life. My daughter has thrived since I pulled her out of face to face school.
We are with a charter in Ca. Only 2 kids I fully homeschool on our own totally parents and child choice. My girls go each week to art and PE with kids they have been with since kinder mostly. Same teacher since kinder. My 15 year old added cosmetology with the head, hair and cutting tools. And both also taking college classes. They have 11 and 4 college classes under their belts. They are free to all 8th-12 graders so taking advantage of that. We use our co op days as a free day it’s just PE and art since we are out of the house most of the day.. i miss the younger years so much more fun. I love homeschooling and parenting ALSO!
Sounds like you have a great plan!
Hi fellow Ca homeschooling mom ❤️
You talked about so many great things in this video that I really appreciate which makes me feel silly for saying what I’m about to. I love your glasses! Are they new? I’m a mama to a toddler and baby and I’m very much learning through you, how to do, well… EVERYTHING!
I had 7 grades to homeschool last year, but that was the only year I will ever have that many at once, as I will have 2 graduate before another one gets in school. It’s a lot of work for sure, but so worth it!
I love having a Mother's Helper.She comes once a week for 4 hours. Such a gift❤️
It’s interesting to hear you talk about how different it will be to be on someone else’s schedule with the co-op. With a child with ASD, our lives are scheduled around his therapy appointments every week, not to mention the therapy services he receives at (public) school. It would be interesting to hear how a neurodivergent child would fair homeschooling… even if I think of my friends with adhd kiddos that have horrible time management skills. It’s fascinating how we all learn new things and how each child is different.
I have three adopted kids; ages 11, 10, and 9 who have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, ADHD, intellectual disability, PTSD, etc and three younger bio kids; ages 5, 3, and 9 months. How my ADHD kids function is to take meds at 8 and we start school at 9:30 to give them time to kick in and get time outside. Subjects are spaced with other activities and if they are off task, they have homework. How we make it work is to do all of our therapies and meeting up with friends on Mondays, speech virtually at 9, then the library to pick up books on the way to choir from 11-12, homeschool group at 12. Then, Tuesdays we do counseling virtually. My husband gets home at 2 pm and I schedule all their in person appt (usually 2-3 a week) from 2-4 pm, so I can take just that child. If there is more than 2 in person appts a week, my husband takes over some so I don’t burn out. T-F we try to school uninterrupted. My kids curriculum is based on where they are developmentally and all are doing well and love learning. I used to teach spec. ed in the public school and know how different it can look.
I'm only homeschooling two this year (7th and 8th grade), but I do a similar thing. I create a binder for each kiddo and have the year mapped out and everything they need to do. One of mine loves to work ahead and this helps him! Since I have it all prepped, all I have to do is make sure they complete the work and help with anything they don't understand.
Great plan!
I have no idea how you keep up, Sarah your a wonderful mother.
@@OurTribeofMany do you have a link to your scheduling that we could use and customize for our family?
So helpful. Thanks!
Peace reminds me so much of Solo’s mom
I have done away w paper towels for years. Love it
Greetings from England! I would love an update on your homeschool curriculum/routine, especially for your older children i.e. 6th grade and up! We also use Sonlight and are always looking for inspiration/help/ideas from those who are a little ahead of us. God bless you and your family! 🙏🏽
Peace is such a smiley kid!!!
We were taught indoor and outdoor voices when we were young and as a mom of four boys this, has been helpful for me.
Yes to the book!
You're uhm....brave for planning out the *whole* year in one go. I do 4 weeks at once max because you never know when someone will get sick or injured or something will come up and then you are "behind" and it's so easy to lose track of where you ARE vs where you are supposed to be.
i'm the same way, I never plan more than a month at a time. perfect example - we were supposed to start school 8/1 but my son ended up in the hospital for the past 5 weeks- we'll be lucky if we start mid sept.
What logistics go into the planning the school year for your tribe!!! You are an amazing CEO
As a homeschooler in Australia we have to apply to homeschool with our stae government and show them our curriculum meets the government standard each year and prove we have completed it at the end of the year some states even have home visits. Do you have to do anything like that?
It's a quarter past midnight here in New Zealand and I'm normally sound asleep so I don't always get to watch your videos this early. Sarah, you and Solo are very inspirational to me in living as God's children and spreading His word by being a great example of how we can walk strong with our Lord. I can't even imagine the number of people you and your family touch in your community nevermind here on RUclips. Stand strong for many of us stand behind you and support you as you fulfill the promise of Our Lord. God bless everyone who loves to watch this channel and know that you are never alone. Xx
Thanks for the encouragement!
Amen 🙏
@@OurTribeofMany you are more than welcome, you deserve everyone kind word, every bit of positivity and genuine support and love from those you inspire and encourage. X
The baby looks like her big sis Bell.
We do 4 days a week too. But I only plan 1 week at time that way if any child needs extra time on a thing we can take that time before moving onto the next thing. I also make packets for my younger kids which is a huge help.. That's what works for us . My older kids write from the books into notebooks and I write out several weeks of what they gotta do in each subject and if they need help they come to me .
I did it that way for a long time but with so many I am hoping it helps to do this now. We will see.
I am always amazed at everything you accomplish each day.
I'm also a Sonlight homeschooler. You have given so much wisdom here. Have you discovered Core J, The History of Science? I'm just finishing it up with my son (yes, from last year). It's my favorite core yet.
No....I'll have to look into that!
Sarah, are any of your children less independent than the others? I'm not asking for names, but as a teacher (45 years) I have found that some children need much more direct instruction than others.
You learn your children and adjust accordingly 😊
Yes....but I keep encouraging the independence.
Sara you are an amazing mom and teacher. I wish I lived close to you!!
Speaking of hand me downs. I would love to know how you store and keep up with the kids clothes. I am a momma of 7 at home with 3 adult children. Next video? Maybe?
I’ve been watching you since Hope was a baby but I feel like I just started watching you yesterday
#goals
I'm obsessed with this video.
After you write out the year I would make a hard copy to use for the next kids and so on
When you said you wished you could go away to a cabin and plan the school year it reminded me that my mom used to take one weekend before the start of each school year where she’d take all the curriculum, go to a hotel by herself, and plan the whole year. She swore by it!
Smart mom!!
Thank you for sharing. I'm always curious what other homeschoolers do. We have used the Bob Jones curriculum (christian based) for eight years and absolutely love it.
We're first year homeschooling and using sonlight as well. We love it!! I only have one so it's very easy for us. Love your family and God Bless, you're always very inspiring.
Have a great year!
@@OurTribeofMany thank you!! You as well.
I do wish that I had homeschooled mine! 🙄 It is such a blessing to be able to do that! Peace is such a dollbaby! 🤗 Hope is growing so fast and is THE SWEETEST! 🙏🦋🌻
Your homeschool videos are my favorite! Thanks for the inspiration to get more organized. I've homeschooled my 4 boys for the past 10 years and we're off to a rough start this year! One shining star in our year, though, is our new Physics curriculum by Exploration Education. If you're ever looking for a Physics curriculum that you can do with ALL of your kids (different levels that all track together), comes with a box of all of the supplies you need, is easy to implement and still very thorough, then I highly recommend it!
Thanks!
Sara, you definitely exemplify what a Proverbs 31 woman is. May Jesus bless you.
We’re homeschooling this year and the yearly schedule is such a great idea!
Peace looking up at you, precious! You are amazing! I homeschooled two and could barely manage. One independent learner, the other, not so much. We made it through. I have two successful women with great careers. My prayers go out to all the homeschoolers out there. God Bless you!
I'm learning it does work out and each one learns differently.
Hope y'all have a wonderful year! We're a month in with my youngest who is in 10th grade. I also do the whole year in advance (except for Math)as it gives me peace of mind and frees me from having to think about it each week.
God Bless you for what you do and accomplish, I think if I had to do all that you do, I would be pulling my hair out. Lol.
I would love more info. My daughter has a lot of anxiety.
Look into Gather Round. It is a family style learning.
I would just send public school my son loves hanging out kids his own age!!
Another great video!
Is RUclips the business you run, or is there another?
Play is very important for development and learning!
You mentioned not doing co--ops. In a recent video: maybe it is your friends, who were on the video, who do co-op? It seemed like your kids were joining in?
I have been waiting until I have a driver (Belle).
Determinant plants are determined to stay near the ground and fruit all at once. Indeterminate plants want to roam and do all the things all the time.
YAY, I love when you make homeschooling videos! This was super helpful! Will you make one sharing what extra curriculum you use like for Math, piano etc? We love Sonlight too!
Totally off subject but I'm going back on watching all of your videos and I just watched the one where you blew your tire on the RV and I don't know if you know this or not but when temperatures are extremely hot outside you want to be very careful with them and you want to watch your speed because that will make tires blow my dad used to drive truck and he would always tell us that cause the road is so hot and then with going faster and for long times, there is a good chance tires can blow. so just an FYI in case you didn't know
I homeschool 4 kids. This is my first year homeschool a high school student. 😰 we start next week too.
Thank you for sharing your family with us💕
I would LOVE to see an example of your younger kids' school sheet. It would give me an idea of what to expect for my kids--oldest is almost 7. How do you get them to be more independent?
Peace is such a dollbaby! Hope and destiny being in the same grade is a great idea. They seem so close and what fun to be together during school! I am a teacher and would have loved to home school my son but couldn’t afford to stay home. You are so lucky to be able to do all this!
Would love to plan out a year but just curious what your plan is when someone gets sick, etc? Would you just have them complete more than 1 lesson in a day to catch up …? Also, would you be willing to share what other things your kids have in their binders..?
I crave your organization. You are such a phenomenal mom. I really admire the way you pour into your kids with homeschooling. You should be proud of all your efforts because I can tell you have raised some very amazing kids!
Oh my gosh HOPEYYYYYY!!!!!! That SWEET smile!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭 She’s had THE cutest little grin since she was born I swear!! Angel baby Peace!!! My gosh the joy in your home. Makes MY heart happy!!! Love y’all!!!!!
Spider Girl Looks Amazingly Happy!!! It's ok Sarah to be mindless some days!😍💕💯👏
Do you have a template for filling in the kids' schedules? I would love to look at it more closely!
Sarah!!!! I love seeing your videos. Little do you know I spend my mornings getting ready with y'all 😁😁
Sarah, how do you keep up with picture organization, scrapbooking, or digital picture books? If you do it at all? Just curious haha
Managers of Their Homes is an excellent resource
I did something similar before I found it, I called it “Children At A Glance” lol
Kids rotated w/the youngest, entertaining her and I had video time for her too pls working some w/her too. She napped too till 4, yay I had it figured out so she didn’t distract when I needed intense time.
You can schedule in daily chore times.
USE A NANNY for littles. If at all possible. Even just 9am to 1pm. An older teen or 3, who rotate to ur home…
I tried to use the whole day as homeschooling time
We also did Sat mornings. We also did all summer, even if it might be lighter. We had no money to run constantly anyway. Why waste the time n have them bored? We watched little tv or vids, no gaming systems. We could take our time all year this way. Take off whole weeks with no problem.
I highly reccd it!
I love that you're doing Case for a Creator...we love the whole series, they are well written and accessible..😎
? It's a terrible book.
It’s such an amazing and useful life skill to be able to learn independently. Your children are so lucky!
Our 8th baby is due in about a week. I've got the kids school ready to go, but I sure am curious how smooth it'll start this year. 😂😂
This video was inspirational to me. I homeschool 5 children ages 7-15. I like your approach to planning out the whole year, but I am wondering how you adjust when the lessons don't get done for that day due to sickness, appts. Etc?
Hi Sarah! Do you skip the Preschool and Pre-K Sonlight curriculums? I’ve seen sooo many people say they don’t start until their kids around 5, but then I’m not sure which curriculum to choose. :)
You have such a Joy Filled Home🥰
You and Solo make the most beautiful children and raise amazing humans!
I always sing Let There Be Peace On Earth for the baby💞
Love, Blessings and Prayers 🙏🏻🕊✝️🌸♥️
I definitely needed to see this video today! Thank you so much for sharing, you have definitely given me so many helpful ideas.😁
So glad!
Good stuff! I am planning our year too, and I *love* using a weekly layout like you have. It makes it so much easier to see what still needs doing. Also,,, PEACE!!!! YOU ARE SO STINKIN CUUUUTTEEE!!!
😍
This is amazing! I love how you explain everything, you’re so well organized!
You are such a blessing to your children and they are great blessings to you!! Your wonderful parents and your family is so beautiful!
This is exactly why I quit homeschooling after a couple of years. The getting organized was overwhelming. I always felt like I was behind. The child hated being home without friends and I found the whole thing super stressful. It's good that we all find what works for us. You and your children are clearly thriving.
I agree about all of us finding out what works for us.
I’m so happy to see this homeschool video. I am in my 2nd year of homeschooling my grandchildren, ages 7, 4 and 2. We started in July because we live in North Texas where summer is dangerous outside so we may as well be learning while stuck indoors anyway. Right now we mostly work while the very stubborn but determined 2 yr old sleeps because she wants to do exactly what her sisters are doing. I thought about planning the whole year but decided to do quarters instead. I share the homeschool teaching for the oldest with her mother since she rotates custody every other week so things can change pretty frequently for her. I love the idea of a RUclips channel for the kids to use. I was thinking of a voice recorder but the RUclips channel would be more permanent for the other kids to eventually use. Great idea! Thanks for the video, and I would love to see more about how you homeschool.
Peace just lifted my spirits with her smile.
She is so beautiful😍
“Who are you Seth”?? “Anna” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When my son was little he would get
His costume in Sept and play in it all the time he could not wear to school or church
He loved to wear them
My kids loved costumes
id love to know about your rules on electronics. Also if there graduated are they needing to pay rent or do you have a different way?🙂
Have any of the kids asked or wanted to go to public or Christian schools vs home schooling? Would you and Solo agree to that or is that a non negotiable?
Christian schools cost alot of money. 10 grand and upwards a year.
Great Video! You have it all under control! Have a great year!👍❤️
Love the grid schedule, I did that too when mine were home schooled/online schooled. That way everyone knew what the daily expectations were. We were also done by usually around 2pm most days unless there was a project to be worked on that required more research or practice. You got this mom!
That is what I am hoping will happen here too.
This is wonderful! 🎉🎉🎉🎉. Thank you. I have watched this so many times. I am trying to figure out how to make this. Do you use Dates or just week numbers? What if a kids gets behind ?
Hello Sarah. I'm from a family of 11. My mother said to me once how much she loved being a mother and hearing the pitter patter of little feet. That statement by you made me smile especially since my mother is no longer with us. I miss her so much, but I think of her often. Have an awesome school year.
P.S. I have only one child, a son.
You are very organized and teaching them to work on their own is wonderful.
