The little animated characters were great. I really enjoyed them. This was really nice. I haven't been outside since Oct. Mobility issues and snow are a bummer. I started watching videos from other countries to "travel" using the net. The old goth in me loves the bag.
“Day off in Kyoto, got bored at the temple, looked around at the 7-11. The band took the speed train, went to the arcade. I wanted to go, but I didn't.” lmaoo your thumbnail is everything haha 🙏🏻😂😂
After finding your channel like a month ago I have watched every video and have been waiting for a new upload! Thank you Emma for all the work you put in and thank you for being just yourself :) Your videos fill me with this kind of content feeling you get on rainy days while you sit at home with a book and a warm cup of tea. I honestly hope you're doing fine and will keep making these little bits of heaven and put them on youtube :)
It's funny how life is. I remember being here quite some years back, seeing as you went in your life, getting your first apartment then the 2nd and 3rd, cherishing for you to succeed. Then I got an opportunity to interact with you via twitch, I felt good being able to share ideas and memes! I also loved your kitchen chats. Now I'm here, in my own first apartament watching you again. Thank you for inspiring me to get on with it with my life! Why am I crying? Gosh, I feel so happy!!
Your videos have the perfect vibes to relax with over breakfast, and I can't stress enough how much I enjoy your cartoon edits over the scenery! That fish jumping out of the river was so cool!!
Thanks, Emma, for sharing your views of Kyoto. Just 11 months ago I strolled through the same back streets of Gion and passed Hard Rock Café. On ca. 20 trips to Kyoto I had not been to this beautiful part of town before. Loved it ! Without tourists from China, streets were already as empty then as they are still until now.
LOVED THIS!! Always wanted to see Kyoto and the Gion district since being obsessed with “Memoirs of a Geisha”. It’s more beautiful that I thought. I would love to see it during cherry blossom season. Love the glasses too Emma. They completely change how you look!
Tip, bring walking shoes and a reasonably good amount of stamina. Kyoto is not flat. But it's a delight if you like old stuff, new stuff and oases of silence in the middle of a big city
Wow, what a cool experience seeing Kyoto like that. I was there in 2019 and it was so crowded. Also wish I had seen that bag when I was there. My wife would have loved that clutch!
Kyoto seems like such a chill place with a cozy atmosphere and it looks so beautiful! Loved this vlog! It's always great to have someone who knows the place and can show you around. Also, the bag is SO COOL! 😍🖤
Your editing is soooo good! I really love it! Always loved your talent to capture those little lovely scenes nad now adding in those tiny animated characters... love it even more!
Damnnn you Tokidoki! Now when I visit or move to Japan, I'll probably be following in your footsteps to all these cool places haha! At least I won't run out of ideas with your channel.
Gasshadokuro came to visit Sydney in 2019. I saw him at the Art Gallery of Sydney. They had a display of yokai based ukiyo-e and other yokai art called Japan Supernatural. My faves were all the Kitsune art. I got myself a case for my glasses of the ukiyo-e "The Moon over Musashi plain" from the One Hundred Aspects Of The Moon collection by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi.
I've recently decided where I will visit when I finally get to Japan, and Kyoto in one of those places. Which, on the face of it, quite a vague idea. Watching your video (and a few from the past) has given me more specific ideas making me think "Yep, I want to go there...there too...there as well....". Now it seems I need to add like another 2 weeks to my planned trip.
lovely visuals! (obviously unfortunate circumstances) but it's cool that you got to chill in a less congested kyoto! so beautiful. kyoto has a special place in my heart 'cause I got to celebrate my 21st birthday there with my study-abroad group! a bunch of schoolgirls (like 10) saw us lighting a cake by a stream and they joined in to sing and take way too many group photos, haha!
great stuff. I love Kyoto, even when it was crazy busy with tourists, you could find quiet spaces. the big busses of kids and tourists only go to certain places.
Ah man... this has made me so nostalgic! I was there this time last year, went to a lot of the spots you were at - nothing's changed! I miss traveling :( thanks for letting us vicariously travel through these vids!
Literally, you and I have NOTHING in common. And yet, even when you talk about things I have no knowledge of, your engaging on screen presence, and always interesting perspectives keep me engaged. Well done!
"Caffeine= heart go fast, brain go sad" 😂😭💓 Laughed out loud at this, because I've never related to anything more than this statement. (surrounded by coffee lovers😅 ) I love your videos!!
First of all I miss Japan . Being in the whole Covid situation , watching your video especially those short in between travelling short , really bring me back to Japan in a way . Thank you
Man I miss Kyoto. I was lucky enough to study there back in 2012 and it was so fun... Just hanging about. Not even the tourist sites. It's a cool city. Wish I could travel..
Fun facts about buses in Kyoto: They often get stopped by the traffic lights, so you can pretty much out-run the bus if you jog. Also, they are never on time. If a bus comes on time, it's the previous one which is so late that it happens to run on the next bus' time table.
Natsukashii! I lived in Kyoto-Higashiyama right next to Gion for some years and still miss sitting on the banks of Kamogawa or wandering Gion backstreets. It must be so nice to experience it without the crowds of tourists - especially in foliage and sakura season it was horrible.
Kyoto is so beautiful! Been hella stressed lately and this video was a nice chill distraction. Can't wait to visit Japan when this pandemic blows over.
I love Kyoto, I had my first trip to Japan last March (2020) and stayed there for a week. My absolute fav bit on my was being near the top of the Fushimi Inari shrine with a bunch of strangers, all just enjoying watching the sun set over Kyoto, as the city transform from day to night was just beautiful. The impersonating Geisha/Maiko sign is interesting, is it perhaps that particular alley/street? When I was in there the only other tourists around were Japanese tourists and I saw a few people full dressed up in the attire, and theres businesses around that specialized in it so seems an odd contradiction. Was super lucky in seeing some a couple of real Maiko one night and an actual Geisha another night, they are like spirits in the wind, silent and dissapear in a flash.
We're not supposed to be doing this in Japan either, but a lot of jvloggers seem to be ignoring that and putting out this false message that everything is fine here. Even when this video was made, hospitals were reaching capacity.
11:30 Omg when I was in Kyoto I dropped my phone in a toilet! :D It was at a restaurant with river view (vegan place called Veg Out) It survived though and luckily happened before I used the toilet :D I wish I had spent more time in Kyoto. It's such a peaceful place.
"Caffeine - Heart go fast, brain go sad"
Such a mood
It is a curse but it is a vibe 😔✨
@@TokidokiTraveller Not what my doctor would say but it's true 😌
Same for me too but more like brain go panic lol
You get addicted to a certain kind of sadness...........
I can relate. Coffee was my best friend for years and now it’s my worst enemy.
Emma with her back to a great photo opportunity: "well I guess I'll take a photo of this corner"
The little animated characters were great. I really enjoyed them.
This was really nice. I haven't been outside since Oct.
Mobility issues and snow are a bummer. I started watching videos from other countries to "travel" using the net.
The old goth in me loves the bag.
Sorry to hear you have been stuck at home, I hope the travel vids are helping! Take care :)
“Day off in Kyoto, got bored at the temple, looked around at the 7-11. The band took the speed train, went to the arcade. I wanted to go, but I didn't.” lmaoo your thumbnail is everything haha 🙏🏻😂😂
Not sure which I love more: the B-Roll with cute animated emoji or surprise Sarah cameo!
Also those mochi cubes looked divine.
Ok for real I can’t ever forget that warabi Mochi, it was unlike any texture I’ve had before. I dream of ittttt
Your 'life' videos are really the best! I feel you show a bit of everything!
Love love love your vlogs and helpful content for travel planning!!

I like to think the small animated characters are just “Emma Vision”. Also that bag is amazing, can’t wait to see it with some outfits.
Your videos have the perfect vibes to relax with over breakfast, and I can't stress enough how much I enjoy your cartoon edits over the scenery! That fish jumping out of the river was so cool!!
It always fun to see your adventures. As a person who always wanted to go to japan its really exciting to see all the new places you visit..❤
You know if you three collaborated on a travel mini series that would be gold.
thanks for sharing. I would love to visit Kyoto someday.
What a great time to have a day off in Kyoto! With the wonderful foliage and quiet and I can't believe Sharla was there by coincidence!
Kyoto is one of my very favorite cities! LOVE your gasshadokuro bag!

@@rapthor666 yes, I agree - we were doing up to 30,000 steps a day there

Kyoto seems to be what my brain imagines All of Japan to be like. Definitely gonna be a future trip destination.
Please do stay safe and healthy and I hope everything goes back to normal this year.
The little animations/illustrations in this are so great.
When I feel down, I watch emma's vlogs. Works everytaaim!
Great video Emma, I hope you had fun in Kyoto with Sarah and Sharla
Kyoto seems like such a chill place with a cozy atmosphere and it looks so beautiful! Loved this vlog! It's always great to have someone who knows the place and can show you around.

That is the most kick-ass bag ever!
Seeing Emma do epic things when the UK is in lockdown keeps me going :)
She shouldn't be doing those things either. It's not safe here. Hospitals are now over capacity and people are getting turned away sometimes.
lovely visuals! (obviously unfortunate circumstances) but it's cool that you got to chill in a less congested kyoto! so beautiful.

Emma can do food reviews just by her facial expressions.
The bag and also the box it came in are gorgeous!!!
The new Outro 😍 just saw it...love it 😆 your videos are pure enjoyment! Thanks Emma 🤍
I wish I could go to Japan right now. Ironically, my biggest frustration while in Japan is other tourists.
great stuff. I love Kyoto, even when it was crazy busy with tourists, you could find quiet spaces. the big busses of kids and tourists only go to certain places.
I love how comfortable she can speak to the camera, it's kinda like actually being there lol.
Wonderful colours and so nice to see more of Kyoto and without the tourist hordes.
