The music for the last boss fits perfectly here because it is the end for eggman. He's on the run with no emeralds while you are at your strongest. In the other games he was a actual threat with the super emerald. The fate of the planet was at stake so the music reflected that.

I’d say this is a pretty underrated Sonic game. It’s kind of alot like Sonic Mania where they remaster the stages and soundtrack from the past 2D games. They really need to remaster this game or at least port it to Switch or something because it definitely needs more recognization.
Yeah, but it also kinda seems it’s more of a Sonic 2 but a little different… some stages aren’t included, they have different bosses and level layouts, the special stages are the same (kinda).
Given that this was the one game Sega directly forbid to be mentioned in the Sonic Encyclo-Speed-ia do I thing changes of it getting a re-release ever are rather slim. Especially given that the more well known Advance games never got any re-release outside of Japan ether.
The real reason the Neo Geo Pocket Colour was cancelled too soon was because they had serious financial troubles so they were bought out by a company who basically sabotaged them and cancelled the handheld because it wasn't pachinko related since this company only wanted SNK to make pachinko machines and nothing else
IGN's whole critical arouse with Pocket Adventure is very strange. Like for example, IGN, in their trailer for the game in the title of the video they listed it as a Game Boy game. So yeah I dunno if the reviewer of the review was very experienced at all.

Sonic Advance had ports to N-Gage and J2ME, but otherwise true.
