Seems like the weights for the hilt are less about just making it heavier and more about allowing you to adjust the balance point to your liking for spins/tricks etc.
A balanced weapon, even if slightly heavier, is also probably going to be less fatiguing because you aren't constantly fighting against the weight of the blade.

Wow Michelle!!! You're incredible! Also, I'd like to say THANK YOU! You're beginners tutorial - all you're tutorials actually are incredibly informative and the way you breakdown and go through each and every movement has made this possible and really fun even for at 45. I have a niece who is a varsity majorette/flag in HS. She stays with me alot and often practices in my garage or backyard and I swear I couldnt twirl those damn things to save my life which wouldnt have bothered me at all if I understood the movements and processes but couldnt do them due to age or physically just couldnt do it but that wasnt it at all - now I can blame it on her being a horrible teacher!!! LOL She and I have been doing this together just for fun and thanks to you're instruction I'm actually a few steps ahead of her! It s funny though - I've been involved in several different disciplines of martial arts for 33 or 34 yrs now yet I never could get into weapons due to a ridiculous opinions of some of the older, higher ranked guys that I viewed as "cool" when I first started at age 11. I was all about sparring, then full contact Karate then Kickboxing then Jujitsu and MMA. I honestly disliked the whole use of kata in traditional martial arts because it just wasnt at all a practical way of learning how to actually fight or defend yourself in competition or real life. I regrettably and kinda wrongly placed weapons in that category. I still dont think kata or forms are a good or effective way to practice self defense but as a way of conditioning or the sport or cooperative side of that has just exploded and then look at what you get to do for a living!!!! I'm soooo frkn jealous! Anyways I apologize for my ranting - Just honestly wanted to say how incredible I think you are and thank you for making it possible for someone like me to at least halfass it! Hope this finds you and you're loved ones all safe, happy, and healthy. Best of wishes on all your future endeavors.🤞👍🤟✌👌💪👋

Hello Michelle, IF you happen to read this: any chances of you showing us a DIY for a staff weighted like one of those lightsabers? Or maybe the weight and the point of balance between hilt and blade. That would be awesome. Keep it up!
My friend got an elegant weapon, after breaking his Ultrasabers in 2 weeks, then his Saberforge in 2 weeks too, then 2 of the LGT I provided him in a month.
(he's not even duelling, lol, just spinning and a few falls)
Elegant weapon broke in a month too.
And I got many other testimonies like that : "they are a bit more resilient than other, but... really just a bit."
But you can get a (very overpriced) optional weight with them, yes, so... pick your favorites ;)

I’ve been teaching weapons for 30 years, I alway tell my students to have a light an a heavy version of what ever weapon there using. If you practice with a heavy version first then train with the light, you can move it much fast.⚔️🗡🙏🏻

If you want to create a good style, try learning the different forms taught by the Jedi. It's a great way to get a feel for the saber.

Interesting to see how you have changed in a single year.
There's a guy on Facebook named Chris McDonald working on a neopixel bladed flow saber with sound. Apparently, it's designed specifically for flowing but you get the best of both worlds: Neopixel blade (super bright blade with more effects), soundboard with smooth swing that reacts very realistically to every small movement (try searching Smooth Swing on RUclips to observe the effect), and built with parts that are meant to take a beating without getting a beating from it.

The Clone Wars in Season 4 When Obi Wan Kenobi and Asajj Ventress teaming up. And Asajj gives Obi Wan her lightsaber and Obi Wan says " Red is not my color" Anyway that reminded me of that. when you said Purple is my favorite color. lol
Jedi that wield a purple blade walk the razor thin line between the DakrnSide and the light...and are a combination of the red and blue (typically for justice and protection) which ends up being purple. So, just like your comment about yourself being neither Light nor Dark.
Gray Jedi don't follow the rules, so you have a not=faction all set up for you. The lore is that only Sith have red blades, so it's really dark pink?
Adding weight to the butt of the hilt will move the center of rotation of the whole thing closer to the hilt making it harder to grab the blade- try it slowly to see if it stresses your shoulder as much as you're expecting it to- you look to have the strength and flexibility to handle the extra ounce or two.
