Hi..on the MAF sensor.. on a turbo motor.. should the MAF sensor be mounted in front of turbo inlet or in the piping before the TB.. so it works properly.. Great videos by the way..alot to learn
i've been following you recently as im trying to learn about tuning in hopes of tuning my own junkyard LS swapped pontiac firebird. my spark plugs look white when i read them. i have a feeling it might be MAF related but whenever i try to make it more rich i just get negative fuel trims. im a total NEWB when it comes to EFI but im here in hopes of learning new things
Damn! I know I talked a little bit to you about mine I’m thinking this is my problem its just never stays in a steady state I’m near a 90 I’ll shoot you a picture later get a second opinion. Runs perfect in speed density though. Thanks Kyle
I experienced this same thing. MAF Reversion will make your tuning day very interesting. Just when you think you got it....BAM! It all goes bad, just like Kyle said. Chase your own tail for days! I wish you had of talked about MAF patching. I tried this in a E40 GTO. Didn't work, still don't know why. Same rule applies to VATS delete. Write entire. ???
running an otr intake on a lsa blower and a ls7 card style maf, getting crazy maf readings. how do you feel about the honeycomb air straighteners in this situation? i installed a maf screen from a stock ls3 maf and the maf reading look alot better.
So at 2500 rpms your gonna be around the 4000-5000 hz range? Do you plan on using MAF all the way to peak boost? I am using the card style MAF and I think it pegs at 15000 hz, more than enough for 10psi but I like running SD seems more responsive
The Hz you hit is determined by your inlet size, I ran 20 psi without maxing mine already. Most likely, as it is more consistent than speed density see the higher airflows.
Nothing wrong with Mass Air Flow. MAF. I've used both blow thru and draw thru turbo with a MAF sensor. I'm not going to go into why it's not working for you though.

Great video! Going though all these things as you see them I a huge help. Keep up the great work! ABT

Thank you for videos. Great information. Would you be able to do a video on maf delete for generation 3. Thanks.

How about when the VVE won’t tune ? Can get maf in the 3% zone but the VVE keeps pulling 10-15% below 2000rpm and keeps adding fuel above 2000 rpm.
Great Video man, very interesting info.
Goat rope, have you had early gen 4 maf not fail when you set it to fail? 2008 e38. I've heard 08 e38 ecm can be tricky.
Set the MAF fail parameters, unplug the maf, it will fail then you should be able to plug it back in and still have it failed.

Yep, write entire with and patch
@@GoatRopeGarage yes but maf only reads to 12200hz after the patch.
Run a bigger intake tube if you need it
@@GoatRopeGarage i did that. Installed a 4" tube.
The curve is so steep, its almost maxed out the curve at 9800 hz
@@pcmfrenzy1089 dang, how much boost you running?

Does it constantly have crazy readings or just in the lower rpms?
@@GoatRopeGarage havent gotten into high rpms but it was doing it constantly Cruising and on the highway

So why don’t you break out the iat and change the maf location , you have already done so many tougher things
I will, just wanted to see if it would read here.
Haters going dislike

Never said there was, and I explained why it wasn't working, lol
