Crysis 2 remains the greatest game in the series. It had both gameplay and story. The third game had gameplay but felt too much like I was watching a bad american movie, the first game didn't have as fun gameplay but had great story. But nothing beats Crysis 2, it had both.

heck no! Its Crysis/Crysis Warhead > Crysis 2 > Crysis 3.....Its sad the way this series turned out after it went multiplatform.... If you compare Far Cry and first Crysis to Crysis 2 and Crysis 3, you can clearly see how much more linear and narrow level design Crysis sequels have....and thats all thanks to the fact that they were designed the console-limitations in mind.

After reading the comments as to master chief vs prophet/Alcatraz nano suit, I'd say it is even. Both suits recharge health. Pointless argument. I will say playing Halo reminds me of a child's play PG rated paintball tournament. But the story is pretty good considering the franchise goes on forever. My 2 cents have been added.

Second, and the most know error: Continuity, this game really doesn't connect with the first one except Prophet appears in the first minutes. Second, the aliens doesn't look the ones introduced in the first one, not even close, also, in the first one they made clear the aliens needed to change the environment to their needs, this isn't even mentioned here. Also, the fuck is wrong with the player? How hard is to remove the helmet and say "hey, I'm not fucking Prophet, stop shooting". And why we need to fight humans again? It was more than clear the alien thread in the first one, and in this everybody acts like they know nothing about it? This was just an eye candy game, want a good story, and it excels at it. Want a good story? Play the first one

David Escalante alcatraz cannot remove his nano suit otherwise he will die, its the very thing thats keeping him alive hence why you see that he has sustained huge injury's in the level where you are scanned. Propthet plays a huge role in crysis 2 story, he is the reason alcatraz is alive and did you know the voice that the suit emits is actaully prophet's voice giving you intructions lol, his mind was uploaded to the suit as stated at the end of the game. Prophet was also the one hargreav sent with secret instructions to find out what the alien threat was.
CrazyRobotPRODUCTIONS ALL nanosuit have detachable helmets (at least then can expose their face). Also, he can clearly speak at the end of the game, what stopped him at the beginning? Prophet himself have the helmet removed at the very beginning of both Crysis 1 and 2.
It had one of the best conclusions in a story driven series. When so many devs these days give in to their greed by releasing endless sequels and cliffhanger after cliffhanger, Crysis 3 delivered a cohesive story with a complete ending that did the games justice. I also think the beach scene was beautiful. The best gameplay goes to Crysis 1 easyI agree about the soundtrack, to an extent. But I think Crysis 3 had very good soundtrack too. "What are you prepared to sacrifice" is a very good track.
you can have 4 different perks equipped at one time, you purchase the perks using alien tissue samples you get from killing squid. There are12 perks to choose from. They are both specific and broad. e.g. one elongates all power drain(makes everything last longer) while another makes you stealth longer and shooting only drains a little. Of course this is single player, i dont know about multilayer. Thinkign of picking it up? I highly recommend this game.
Cloaking works by reflecting light off of the front of the nanosuit, and projecting what is behind the nanosuit on the front. This creates a feeling of 'invisibility'. This can, and has, been done in real life. What is true though is that the weaponry would not become invisible, that is a huge pot hole in the tech.
@XcrazyX10 the engines actually very good because it has very good shooting mechanics and runs at 60fps on consoles whereas most engines run at 30fps on consoles

My favourite games are in fact Half Life, Skyrim, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Portal, Halo, Gears and Crysis 2! So from the perspective of someone who enjoys almost every game out there: This is by far, one of the best.

@Tanatbenbenpoppop I have to agree with you that the maps in Crysis 2 are smaller than those in Crysis 1 but I don't think this is due to the fact that the game is a console port rather it's a result of the game taking place in an urban environment. Unlike many if not most people I still think Crytek did a surprisingly good job moving Crysis into NYC. Like I said many people won't agree with me but in my eyes Crysis 2 is a well made urban version of Crysis with the same "iconic" gameplay.
Are you kidding me? Sure it was slow to start off with, but the story kept getting better and better the more you found out about alcatraz and the suit. The epicness of the game sealed the deal for me.

@piefish Still Crysis 2 needed Way more development time. I love how they created the Ceph to look like, But, It felt like an Alien budget film to me. Already Crysis 1 Last battle on the Battlecruiser with that enormous Ceph Warship and Prophet's survival impressed me and got me hyped for the squeal . They gave u a new protagonist Who is Muted and Has no Background. They ruin the squeal with limted sandbox roaming and decent story without Nomad. You get Happy ending when game finishes

Crysis 2 MP was still better than CoD, not quite up to Crysis 1 MP, however the single player campaign was an enjoyable experience and has the best and most kickass theme for a modern FPS I have heard. The score is great, I wish they put a few more scores int he game as bad ass too.

Get it, nothing much happens on the island after that from what crysis 2 tells you. Prophet is the only one that came back alive, something about the suits fucking up their wearers over time. These aren't spoilers, you get this info right at the start of the game. Game play for me personally was better in this one, more focussed, less runing around, more evaluating options in a smaller, but way more varied and malleable space. Streamlined suit powers.
I want that suit, in my opinion it's better than Iron-Man's, yeah Tony Stark can fly in it but whenever his suit gets shot how much repairing will he have to do? And I believe it's on a par with Master Chief's. Master chief has a stronger over shield and armor lock but this has invisibility! Stealth is for me :D
@patmos09 no, in the multiplayer you level your armour, power, and stealth up to 12, and I was wondering if doing so actually improves their effectiveness, or just allows the opportunity to unlock a new perk?
I still think Crysis is better and more enjoyable. It has nothing to do with different genres I just evaluate them by how much fun I have playing them.

I sold MW3 and went back to playing this love it just as much as the first time I played it.

In Mass Effect you have more control, you make the storyline, and you change it. But yeah, in Crysis you feel like a Boss!

And I believe it's on a par with Master Chief's. Master chief has a stronger over shield and armor lock but this has invisibility! Stealth is for me :D
@patmos09 no, in the multiplayer you level your armour, power, and stealth up to 12, and I was wondering if doing so actually improves their effectiveness, or just allows the opportunity to unlock a new perk?
I hope that Crysis 3 explains why the Ceph in the first game look a lot different that in the second.
I still think Crysis is better and more enjoyable. It has nothing to do with different genres I just evaluate them by how much fun I have playing them.
@thevilkids yes, if your PC have enough power, it can run on Win XP. In fact, Battlefield 3 is the only "big" shooter that won't run on XP.
