Awesome. I love recycling.. never would had thought of this... I want to take my old stained or holey sweaters and any other clothes and turn it into yarn. Why throw away when you can reuse. Thank you for sharing
I'm super new to sewing but I challenged myself to make a hoodie from a blanket I bought at the thrift store for $2! The weave is a bit larger than this one and it will probably fall apart, but I did the same thing you did here!
Hey man, i really adore your work, one thing im confused with is rhe garmet that you've used, what is it made of? The colorful one, how so they make it, like by machine? Dtf? Printing on it or just handmade, appreciate the help man!
I got my brother jx17fe as a gift and it’s good enough. Don’t stress too much about what you’re getting as a first. It’s no gaming pc ;) get one and get started. Keep me posted
I used what came with the package, never looked into specific needles. Thread I used gutterman all purpose. Machine settings: straight or zig zag stitch and tension it depends.
hey bro I made my own tapestry and I think it came out really good but I’ve been wearing it a lot, do you have any ways to wash it? I just don’t want to mess up the tapestry in the washer
Does this work with any material? Or woven tapestry is best? I'm looking to try and get started, I love the way it looks but I'd like to try it out first
when your stitching the tapestry on the hoodie, how do you get it to not stictch the other side of the hoodie? i'm trying to stitch some tapestry on my pants but it stitches the back part too and closes the pant legs
you stitch inside basically, which is easy for hoodies. But for pants, you'll need to unstitch the leg to have the jeans flat. Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to google tutorials on youtube too. Best of luck
in the US, just google "custom woven blanket", in Europe, it's still a mystery to me to be honest. I found 1 options that would run 200e per blanket which is So expensive.
The picture needs to be inside the hoodie not on the hoodie, looks weird if u just sewed the picture on the hoodie then why even cut the black hoodie? haha i dont hate just sayn it supposto be underneath the black hoodie lol
making something like this looks so complicated but after watching someone do it, it actually looks simple asf
The hardest part is aligning, pretty easy overall.

Do it :) keep me posted on the results
DOPE ..I’m adding an up cycle element to my online thrift store ran across your channel and now inspired ..BRAVO and many thanks
Thank you David :) made my day. What’s your online store? I’ll check it out

You gotta send me photos Zach :) DM on insta when you can. Thanks for the comment
The concept is cool. I ve seen second hand needle point pieces bought brought back and sewn on back if jean jackets. Keep inspiring.
Thank you ;) 😊
I was just thinking I wish you had another Defective Garment video earlier today. Great timing lol
I’m glad I did it as the first one wasn’t that great and wasn’t with actual woven tapestry.
Brilliant !
Holy! This is beautiful man, thank you for sharing it 💙 💜

Thank you for your guides! I’m gonna make something tonight or tomorrow :)
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment :) Keep me posted on your creation, you can DM me on insta anytime. Cheers!
Agh this looks so cool! I want to get into sewing so badly but can't afford a sewing machine right now. 😅
Hey looks great! Quick question, why would you not sew the piece inside out so you don’t see any of the stitching and fraying on the outside?
Personal preference :) and thank you 🙏🏻
I think I would have sewn the tapestry on then cut the hoodie away underneath it. Similar to reverse embroidery. Same outcome.
I wanted it like I did actually. The showed fraying is pretty dope, even today still :)
I'm OBSESSED 😍
Thanks 🙏🏻 will redo one soon I think. Still looking for new tapestry
That hoodie is dope af!!!
Youre really talented man 👍🏼
Thank you Alex :) I can’t wait to get my cast off and get back into it 🤕
thanks a lot for the video man. i'm really really new for this, and i'm gonna challenge myself to do this. thank you!
Let me know how it goes :)
This is mad dopeeeee
dope brotherr! 🔥
Love how this came out! 🎉 new subscriber 😊😊
Welcome :) thank you for the comment, it means a lot
thumbs up for the keem in the bg haha
Bing bong
amazing video! Thank you very much
Glad you liked it!
sick m8! keep it up
cool bro, continue content like this!
Thanks mate!
That is cool looking! Love it!
Thanks Anne 😊
that is Fire bro
Thanks bro 😎
I wish you'd show the final stitching up close
Next time
Love the video bro, how did you cut across the seams on the sides of the hoodie without undoing them?
Thank you Jason. They won’t undo themselves that easy as it’s from a surger machine and then go back on them with my single stitch so it’s 100% fine.
Does it make the feel of the hoodie different? Like the temperature is different in different areas?
good question, honestly surprisingly not at all, doesn't even feel weird on the back when wearing a tee shirt of course
You snapped bro!
Thank you 😊 I love this expression haha
What sewing machine do you use/recommend
I got my brother jx17fe as a gift and it’s good enough. Don’t stress too much about what you’re getting as a first. It’s no gaming pc ;) get one and get started. Keep me posted
@@ProjectStuff haha gaming pcs did require a lot of research. Thank you
Hey, could you possibly list your sewing machine settings, what kind of needles are needed and if you need a specific thread please
I used what came with the package, never looked into specific needles.
Thread I used gutterman all purpose.
Machine settings: straight or zig zag stitch and tension it depends.
@@ProjectStuff thank you:)
Would it help to burn the ends of the tapestry before sewing to seal the ends?
i genuinely look the fraying look, i never tried lighter on this fabric.
Damn 🔥🔥🔥 you creations are becoming insane :) Woa !!!!
Thank you 😊 means a lot
hey bro I made my own tapestry and I think it came out really good but I’ve been wearing it a lot, do you have any ways to wash it? I just don’t want to mess up the tapestry in the washer
cold water, air dry is your safest option.
Just never put it in the dryer and it should be fine.
Send me a pic on insta, I want to see it :)
thank you so much!!!!!
You’re welcome ;)
You just get it! 💫
thank you my friend :) thank you for watching and commenting
tuff 🔥
Does this work with any material? Or woven tapestry is best?
I'm looking to try and get started, I love the way it looks but I'd like to try it out first
Woven tapestry gives it that looks but you can use anything Victor. Let me know how it goes :)
This came out really dope ✅
Thanks mate 🙏🏻
Can you give tutorial on learning how to stitch please, I really wanna do this
there are many channels for tutorials, this is an easy project though, it should be easy to find.
its sweet !
Thanks 🙏🏻
why didn’t you turn it inside out when you sewed that piece into the hoodie?
i’m doing one right now and i need help
I wanted to show the flares basically but you can if you sang the clean edges for sure. Up to you
@@ProjectStuff so wait whenever you see it down first and the flares are showing, did you go back and zigzag it again on top in the same spot?
*whenever you sewed it down*
@@iannotdior9315 I did because tapestry is fragile and zigzags secure it very well.
dope channel, youre going be huge soon enough!
This means a lot 😍 thank you Elias. Next video is gonna be fire 🔥
What would you call this reworked stitching style? If I were to describe this to a manufacturer what would I say ?
The Nathan Stitch ;)
What kind of sewing machine are you using?
This is a brother machine around 100-130$, single stitch. Perfect for beginners in my opinion.
when your stitching the tapestry on the hoodie, how do you get it to not stictch the other side of the hoodie? i'm trying to stitch some tapestry on my pants but it stitches the back part too and closes the pant legs

what would i need to google to find this type of tapestry
woven tapestry
Looks cool 💯
was it a wow thing :)
can you tell me what sewing machine u use??
Brother JX17FE, not bad for beginner I guess. Going to get something new soon
hey ,can you tell me , where you get a tapestry from ?
For the US, just google “custom woven blanket” for Europe, it’s way too expensive so I don’t even bother. I found this one in thrift store
what sewing machine do you use?
Brother 17FEjx I think but wouldn’t necessarily recommend.
Hey where do you get custom tapestry from? I want to make some anime ones
If you’re in EU, it still haven’t find a service that does it. If you’re in the US, just google “custom woven tapestry fabric”
What site?
Where do buy the tapestry
thrift store on this story. You can get custom ones online but they are pricy (at least in Europe). Check Etsy/Ebay too :)
Anyone know where I can get some custom blankets? Been seeing a lot of hoodies in this style
Thrift stores in EU, if in the US google “custom woven blankets” you’ll find many
@@ProjectStuff thank you! 🤝
KEREN BANG

do you know where j can buy custom tapestries?

!
Bro whats ur sewing machine name ?
yo :) It's a brother JX 17FE but i don't necessarily recommend it.
Super cool ta chaîne RUclips !
Merci frérot 😅
Is it okay to just put the design on top of the hoodie and not cut the part of it?
It is okay but not ideal and a mistake can easily happen. I’d do it for smaller patches maybe
is there anyone here know the machine name that make u able to make woven image blanket
?? PLEASE
It’s a industrial machine that’s used by companies that make custom blankets and all. Not sure if it exist at a commercial level.
Salut,
Tu ne fait pas de vidéo en francais?
des fois sur tiktok @heynathan :)
Material name
Waw😍
😍😍
The picture needs to be inside the hoodie not on the hoodie, looks weird if u just sewed the picture on the hoodie then why even cut the black hoodie? haha i dont hate just sayn it supposto be underneath the black hoodie lol
nothing is "supposed to be" in art my friend :) I absolutely love the way this lays out and frays on the outside.
Why didn’t you just cut the shape out and apply it to the hoodie? 🤣
Completely different outcomes and fit.
Definitely cool but I feel like it could’ve been designed better
Impossible
couldn’t you just cut the shape of the tapestry and sew it on top of the hoodie instead of what you did?
I could’ve definitely but the fit of the hoodie would be different. The collage look looks worse in my opinion too
can you help me?
cut a better shape next time... waste of a fantastic image
Oui oui
You totally shoulda did the building on the front man 9/10
You do it Sam 😝
Was it @thanksbill
