  • Well I finally got around to building a stand for Granville's leg vise!

    I don't have a lot of respect for much of harbor frieghts stuff but they make some stands for mounting grinders and other electrical devices. The support tubing is pretty thick and strong. Its pretty tall though, but easy to cut to desired work length. Everything I have is mounted on one, both my anvils, all my grinders and other things. My forge is on one, too.

    ..if the gubber-mint had anything to do with reinventing the wheel it would have 32 sides. Great job on that stand. i mounted a couple of mechanics vises on wheels like that. they sure move better than a banch...

    that's the first post vice i've seen with a spring!! are they redoing the Granville shop i seem to remember it was a gravel/dirt floor in the last video you showed and it definitely looked brighter in this last piece of video? and frankly i despise tapping so much i'll go out of my way to use bolts or weld the bastard starting both taps and dies can make me want to burn the shop down at times!!

    where do you get your leg vises? I live in middle tn and have not been able to find one
