Because the truth is,he doesnt stand for anything. It's almost worse than being a republican. Because at least we know how deluded and wrong they are. In short: He's full of shit. Yang stands for himself. He also stands for giving Trump a better chance to win with his No Labels party on the ballot, knowing quite well that No Labels party stands no chance to win the 2024 election. I was leaning towards third party when Ross Perot ran, but in 2024 third party means Trump for 4 more years, and his son after.

@jamesonknott I entirely disagree. Addressing an issue is likely to sound more pessimistic because you're admitting there is an issue to begin with. When there is something that needs to be fixed, and your course of action is to ignore it, and tell people there is no problem, you might sound positive, but it's a surface level facade to disguise malignant stagnation. I don't see how this could be considered positive, unless you're saying that all of the American people should be treated like children too infantile to discuss strife.

hating on the establishment is not gonna amount to anything. the establishment is the American people. Americans are the most apathetic "knowledgable" voters. They know they are getting shafted and yet don't do anything about it cause they think they don't matter. It is the exact same story for Politicians! They feel like they can't do anything about it, while they recognize that the system is hurting everyone.
The American mindset is the root of the problem, not the establishment. I remember clearly how leftists (bernie fans) had argued against their best interest when they opposed ubi in favor for a government job that bernie proposed. UBI was clearly the correct option and yet they voted against their interests! American leftists or the establishment are not the problem. The American mindset as a whole is the problem.

AI.....UBI....let's pay attention to the data and vote for people who are passionately working to navigate us through these tough times. Maybe all the actors who are affected by AI can use their platform to promote these candidates at all levels to help everyone. Actors who are striking due to many issues and AI is just an example. Maybe people who have ideas can see how we can get these ideas through to people, everyday regular people who are not getting the message.

Lol Elon is a republican and it's a burden for polls like that, but it'd be a nice additional option.

    • @gordthor5351

@@ckq Elon has always voted Democrat and he only endorsed Yang (running as a Democrat). Progressives are just as tribal as MAGA and their echo chambers tell them who to hate. Neither of these tribes think for themselves. They just parrot what their echo chambers leaders claim. If you judged Elon rationally and fairly, you would see how much he cares about humanity. Progressives and MAGA just want to cancel what they don't like of each other and they despise each other because they are so much alike. More practical and smarter people like Elon and Yang know better that tribalism is destroying the country. I am very liberal minded and I am for progress, but I don't play the tribal game. It's backwards and detrimental to any country. "United We Stand And Divided We Fall". Clearly, this moto no longer meaningful for MAGA and Progressives.
Just because Elon doesn't hate half of the country, doesn't mean he is a Republican or a bad person.

    • @doaks31
      @doaks31 11 месяцев назад

@@ckq Not sure you understand how RCV works. It is not possible to win if 2 other options have more #1 votes than you. For example, if option A and option B each have 40% of #1 votes, and option C has 20% of #1 votes then C cannot win no matter how many #2 votes it has. The whole point of this is to empower people to vote what they actually want with their #1 choice instead of feeling pressured into the "mainstream" option. But it still would not even close to guarantee a 3rd option would win. 50.1% of people would still have to rank that option higher than a mainstream option.
These type of misconceptions are exactly why the public needs to see RCV play out for lower stakes votes (i.e. Twitter poll on what your favorite candy bar is).

I am a Canadian who LOVES the fact that we have 5 elected federal parties and that our current Minority Parliament forces Trudeau's Liberals to collaborate with the Social Democratic NDP party (which currently holds the balance of power) when crafting legislation.... Having a parliamentary democracy means that IF / When a majority of members of the House of Commons (from whatever party) vote AGAINST the government's legislation it automatically/immediately triggers a national election... Thus, EVERY ISSUE ends up decided upon by the consensus opinion of the majority of the people.
As you know with your 2 party majority system, Biden ran on and was voted in espousing 15 dollar a day minimum wage NOT spending hundreds of billions on provoking a proxy war in the Ukraine. This kind of bait-and-switch does not happen to the same extent with minority governments in Canada. Instead, important economic issues like nationally subsidised daycare ( $10 per day) or nationally subsidised dental care, gun control maintaining excellent public education remain our legislative priorities...
Hurrah for Andrew Yang and the Forward party. Good luck to the USA ( and we in Canada as your vassal) as we brave the inevitable upheaval/ transition of the rest of the world dropping the Petrodollar as the world's reserve currency to join the rise of the BRICS economic union. I think Andrew Yang is smart enough to figure out how to counter this. I hope the Forward party fields candidates in as many currently uncontested elections as is possible and smart forward thinking people like Andrew Yang and his followers get elected across the USA.

I think it is incredibly important that the Forward Party needs to develop a marketing campaign so Americans know them very well. Right now, what % of Americans even know the Forward Party exists. i believe many, many Americans would be very excited about the Forward Party....if they know about them.
One other point is that real emphasis should be placed on the lower level electictive political offices. Governors, State Senators on down to school boards.
i hope these comments are read my Mr. Yang. If not, how do I send this message to him?

Being unhappy is not an illness. There are reason people should be unhappy about. But you never see doctor labeling happy people as mentally I’ll or retarded.
I volunteered for Andrew last time. I will not again. Surrendered too early. I suspect his purpose was just to pull republicans voters (which I felled for).
Commander in chief is an important position. People should not run unless they are ready to die fighting.

We need our elders no matter what. I think they serve a better purpose as an advisory board that provides advice from elders. Leading? Maybe not if they are 90+ that's when you need to focus on staying healthy, not working.

I think his point was that all those people were standing down at the DNC's request, so that it looks like only unserious people are running against Joe. And it's not Andrew's opinion that they're unserious, it's the opinion of the DNC and the establishment.

The guy w/the question at 50 minutes doesn't get it. To say that virtually every Democrat has voted for what "the American people want" so we just need more Democrats is a ridiculous statement. He's basically saying Democrats vote for what the American people want and Republicans don't. The whole point of the Forward Party, as Yang keeps pointing out, is for candidates to reflect the wishes of their constituents. We don't all want the same thing regardless of how much this guy wants to think that "the American people" all agree with his political views.

Both re first generation immigrants and both are taking a novel view of the political situation in the United States. Actually woudl be great if Anrew represents Democrats and Vivek Republicans in final election in 2024.

The electoral college reform he suggested would never pass. The incentive for each partisan controlled state is to give all electoral votes to their party, not divide it. For 2020, why would CA Democrats want to give 19 votes to Trump and 36 to Biden rather than all 55 to Biden?
