    I know this took a very long time, I’m working on this myself and your cover gives me hope that it’s attainable. Very well done !

      Thank you! Transcribing (to me) feels like the musical equivalent of lifting weights. After you do it enough, it starts to get a little easier!

    Im having trouble playing fast octaves. Are you alternating between using the ring finger and pinky for the octaves depending on the distance on the fingerboard?

    • @peterbarnesmartin
      @peterbarnesmartin  3 года назад

      This is a great question! For octaves based upon the E and A string I use my ring and pointer, for the D and G I use pointer and pinky! Fast octaves are in my mind one of the most difficult things to execute so have patience, best of luck! :)

      @@peterbarnesmartin Nice! Thank you very much. It feels more comfortable for my hand not having to use my pinky all the time actually! Makes me wonder if this is a technique Wes Montgomery himself used.

    • @peterbarnesmartin

      @@thotheface so interestingly, Wes avoided using his pinky because he believed it to have a uneven tone compared to his other fingers. This is actually an approach used by George Benson as well.
