I was just wondering, why would a military person wear a smart watch. They can be electronically tracked with satellites and GPS? Seems like like that could be dangerous to soldiers and units on the battlefield.

They don't. At least, it's not given to soldiers like they portray here. If they do have to, it's made under the military manufacturers, and they slap a label or a name for consumers to be fooled into thinking it's military. But, as for soldiers wearing smart watches themselves, that you'll have to ask someone from the military.

I think is more for civilian time, sometimes people get usted to military clothes that even in civilian times, they were military style clothes, like trousers, boots, glasses, watches, phones, shirts, etc.

“Military” or “surgical” grade is only a gimmick. They are buzzwords used to make people buy things. Real military grade is made by the lowest bidder and is crap. Ask any veteran.

Military does not refer to equipment used by military personnel. "Military" refers to mil-std specifications. Mostly as deceptive marketing. A mil-std for dust resistance does not at all relate to water resistance. A mil-std may exclude thermal changes while under pressure, since a watch is a closed device and pressure can get high and blow seals.
However, a military branded watch will tend to have metal cases, sunken face protected by a bezel rim, some degree of water resistance, and being able to darken the face so it doesn't give you away in the dark. Features more valuable to sports enthusiasts.
I work in an industrial setting and a metal watch is il-advised due to electrical shock hazards. A military style watch in-general is prone to get caught on things.
Military personnel wear all manner of electronic monitoring systems. To include manipulation of drones, robotics, communications, IR goggles, lasers of many forms, biometric monitoring... None of them look like a smartwatch. Bluetooth is way too easy to hack.
The exception is a Dive Monitor worn on the wrist. Clunky but it calculates time remaining at depth to protect the diver's health.
Military watches are just manly, larger displays, and can in-general handle more physical abuse. I bought mine for $60 because I'm expecting to destroy it during some of my activities. When watches had actual hands to display the time, I could not wear those watches because I would knock the hands loose. So far I've only cracked and scratched the face of digital watches. They are tougher than I am.
But, I still like the look and feel of my military watch and large display.

I'm gonna say this once. Analogue watches rule the battlefield because you can track and pinpoint smart watches and have drones or artillery find you from your enemy. 21 year combat vet speaking. So unless you like cool crap that will never be used on the battlefield, don't buy a smart watch if in the military and deployed.
