  • I love long range shooting, y'all know that. But I typically just shoot to shoot. Hit a big piece of steel and call it a good day. But my buddy James at Kaian Vista Ranch has a cool challenge set up. He's got a 12 foot tall AR500 snow yeti with a 1 MOA square, and a .5 MOA square at a mile. Actually, just over, we were shooting from 1,817 yards out. Larger section is about 18 inches, center square is about 9 inches. (Slightly larger than my hand spread out) You get 10 shots to get in the 1 MOA section. If you do it, you get a challenge coin. I brought 3 rifles, the goal was to get 3 coins.

    Neat. I'm 12 and recently I shot for the first time at a BSA summer camp gun range, there I went from having never shot a gun before to the top shooter that they had seen. They where talking to me about scholarships, and league shooting. One guy started bragging about me to his friends online. Very happy about that, and it's something I'm super proud of. Just thought I would share that cause if anyone would care it would be this community. Have a great day, and happy shooting.

    @TexasPlinking crazy Idea or not I am not sure but I have seen a lot of videos of guys like Garand Thumb, Demolition Ranch etc., Using those new Ballistic Dummies to show how certain rounds and weaponry would react with the body. I however have never seen someone do one for long range shooting. I for one would love to see what a .50BMG or any other powerful sniper round would do at these distances. I think most people like myself would like to have some kind of Idea what is really happening when a Sniper engages a target at those ranges. Thanks for reading and I wish you the best.

    I really enjoy the long range shooting videos. I just started to get into it from your videos. I have an ar 10 that I started using just to get the feel for it and see if I like it. Since I really enjoy im looking to order a bolt action rifle. I figured to start off with 308 and as I get efficient with it work my way up to farther ranges.

    • @rileyf8036
      @rileyf8036 2 года назад

      6.5 creedmoor is recommended now over the .308 for long range shooting. It has much better ballistics. I would look at that if you can get ammo. If you can only find .308, then it will work fine aswell though.
