This job saved me for Hundreds of pounds, looking forward to how to change the filter, again thanks a lot for your help, should host more like you who post video that actually helps people👍
I did this a year ago on my a3 Etron before this video came out. I did drain measure, refill method, but was upset about how much fluid gushed out of filler tube as you try to put the bolt in. I added about 200 ml extra, but perhaps 500 ml is more like it 😊. Nice video
Thanks for the good video. Also make a video about the dsg dq 400 e filter change, the silence of the filter is even more important than the oil change.
The customer didn't want to pay to get the filter done on this car. If I ever get one in, I'll video how to do it. If you read some of the comments it might give more of an insight on the filter
Great video thanks you for this because there isn't any videos about dq400e. Now I'll do myself but I'd really like to see a video on how you access that stupid oil filter. I've seen on passat gte that the guy had to take the drive shaft out and get a really long socket extension lol.
Hi I going to do the filter but the customer didn't want to spend the extra money plus it was very low mileage. It looks like you have to drop the box off its mount there lots of stuff in the way. VW don't recommend the filter unless you have a problem (mad)
@@karoln7078iv done the filter on all the other dsg box's iv changed the oil on. The filter is easy to get to on the top. I do wonder why engineers make things so hard
people complain about DQ400 after some time. instead of turning on your brain, go to an independent workshop and change the filter every 60k km or every 100-120k km... but no more. It is made of paper and I work with used clutch and oil. The cost of an OE filter at the ONline wholesaler is 25 euros, the labor of a workshop that knows DSG and replaces it according to the procedure, in Poland the cost of sweeping the filter is 70 euros - 80 euros. in 2023. VW does not recommend replacing the same filter as in the dq500, dq381 or dq250.... fuck this nonsense
Love the video bro, I tried to change dsg oil on my car but the problem was that every time I tried to pump the oil it kept coming down again, I did everything correct, but what was weird is after I filled the oil reservoir the oil poured out when I opened the plug to remove excess fluid, what do you think that I may have done wrong, now I am scared that I have little oil inside the gearbox any ideas of what could have happened?
Great video! Quick question, what did you mean with 'Let it run' when doing the ATF level check? You mean let the engine run / 'ready'? Or just on ignition?
@@murphyslaw2020 Again many thanks! Just done the service today and your instruction video is perfect! Only thing to add, is I could not start the car after the 'filling oil pressure reservoir' procedure. Had a fault in the gearbox regarding oil pressure. Did the 'filling oil pressure reservoir' again (so for the second time) and the pump build more pressure. After this I could erase the fault and start the car to get it to temperature! Drives smooth now!
Great news it's easy but frightening the first time as you don't want to mess it up. The reservoir filled the Frist time for me. That's good to know that you might need to do it more than once. I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of questions on this topic. Hopefully I can do one that needs the filter at some stage and video it.

Tell me also about the filter replacement? I know that there is a difficult access to the filter. Should that be also replaced?
Hey it can be replaced but it in would take some time to do it from what iv read you can take the engine mount off and the drive shaft out. There is coolant lines that may need removing and some sort of control box . VW said its only needs doing if there was a problem with the gearbox .

when you fill the Accumulator and run pump then you get the oil level by opening the bung but do not remove the level bung ( blue part ) it will leak out the extra oil you don't need

Till the pump fills everything up you will hear the noise change
How long it takes about when can open draining plug?
