March 2024 Plot Tour is already here! I could have spent hours filming all the changes, but I've tried to keep it as focused as possible! I love this time of year, with so many changes in the garden!

Morning Jake, it was stunning this weekend and I almost got shorts 🩳 on but only almost 😂😂. You certainly have more flowers in readiness than we do here. Great plot tour Jake. Love your Brunnera, I’ve got a green leafed variety, but I’m tempted to get Jack Frost as well because I love the dainty flowers on them. Your tulips are looking fantastic, I especially like the dark purple ones 😍
I'll have to keep my eye out for more because they are beautiful plants. Real cottage/woodland garden vibes which is what I'm looking for down in that corner, nothing too flashy!

I love your channel and look forward to watching every week! Great to see so many plants springing to life now. You have inspired me to start a frog pond, it is at the top of my list. After watching you, I ordered and received a couple gooseberry plants(red and green) and a red currant bush over the weekend. The black currants are still banned her in Virginia USA. Plan on getting them in the ground this coming week. Have a good day!

Oooo yes! A little bit of water in the garden can do such amazing things. Not only will you get frogs, but you'll start getting more birds and mammals looking for water, even the smallest bit! Let me know how it goes!

Ah, that effects the spruce or pine tree right? I'm not a fan of black currants. Can you grow white and red currants?

Great video Jake. I’m feeling a bit deflated at the minute as I put some autumn sown plants in last week and when I’ve gone down this weekend the rabbits have eaten them all. I had poppies, cornflower and corncockle and they’ve all gone. I’m going to have to put some fencing round the beds I think! Any tips for rabbit proofing?
Oh no! That's not great news at all, but look, we have loads of time left and you can re-sow some now and they'll catch up soon enough! Fortunately, rabbits are something I've never really had to think about at the allotment (touch wood!!).
But I'm sure a wire fence of some sort all the way around your plot could help! Just watch out for holes! Good luck!

Just wondering, do you have to dig them up once the tulip season has passed? 🤔
I am in my first year growing them, don't know much about how to treat them after they finished flowering.
Hey Sandra 👋🏽 I did go a little overboard this year with them, but I love them! They're so colourful early in the year.
So I have a bed of tulips that I planted up 3 years ago and they come back year on year and they never disappoint. But some tulips are known to only flower a couple of times, so I would leave them where they are if you still want them there and see how long you get the flowers for!
If you have them in pots, I'd either leave them in the pots and keep watering and either find a home for them in the garden or let them flower again for next year. I wouldn't be drying them or anything for next year, they're best left in the ground and they're extremely frost tolerant coming from Turking mountains I believe.
One thing about any spring bulb is that they can look a little scruffy once they've gone over, but you must leave the foliage to die back and allow as much energy to go back into the bulb. It might look messy for a couple of months, but every spring is worth it. Plus, you should have other flowers to look at that time of year 😊

Shorts? 😮 We got 20 cm of snow yesterday 😅 I put fleece on my cabbages on the balcony, 4 degrees Celsius at midnight. But sooooon there will be a bit warmer. 😊

Yeah, a couple of weeks early 😅 but in April I use to get in the shorts, otherwise I di* from heatstroke 😅
