They get some wild seas, worked on the ferries there in the late fifties. Some of the wildest seas I ever saw, even after sailing all over the world.

Very hypnotic watching the waves...especially from a steady shore! Love the sounds of them. It must have been horrible inside the ferry though...fresh air is definitely needed..in days gone by ferries were tiny so they shut the decks..miserable to be stuck inside!

I grew up in south west Wales, a few hundred feet from the coast. We always knew when a storm was coming, because we could hear the waves crashing to shore.

The sea is beautiful..The lightning flash at the beginning...lovely.. but in conditions like this the Princess Victoria ferry tragedy took place 1953. [videos on YT] , brave men went down with ship and all women and children died. Irish sea is a moody sea, according to mariners.

Great sound of the waves :) Would be good to have the whole journey, lasting hours, as one of those ''Sleep to the sound of the waves'' vids.

This was travelling in a terrible storm from Cherberg to Dublin on the Epsilon. They had to shelter for some hours in Barnstable Bay.

WRLAustralia have you been on a ferry before as that is not a good sea! I've been on one every year to see my family in Ireland and that is bad and it definitely gets worst!

Not much good if you want to take your car ?? That’s what ferries are for !! However I wouldn’t have enjoyed that !
