Or maybe it’s because
Lumine is ambidextrous which makes her a more better and skilful fighter than Aether (Lumine has higher multipliers in her charged attacks) while Aether is still struggling on how to control his powers and he always have his weapon defensively, while Lumine does all the work. I think that he has insecurity issues when his sister outperforms him in everything.
im pretty sure its because they used to fight together! if you join a random/friend who chose the other traveller, (example you chose lumine, they chose aether) you can see their attack patterns sync up as to not get in eachothers way in battle! maybe they were so used to it that they just adapted to using powers in their offhand?
@@bavanii.8334 or maybe he just has a defensive fighting style? Fighting styles like that exist irl. I think of it this way, Lumine is like the sword, leaning more towards offense, Aether is the shield, providing defense. This would make sense as the twins already have a lot of duality symbolism, sword/shield would fit well. Also, the twins must have fought together for many years. With both of them fighting like this, covering for each other’s weakness, would make them very powerful together.

Actually not true. As you can see in this,Lumine is more accustomed to being in control with her powers. She does a few little tricks here and there to show that she has full control. Lumine effortlessly does the wind blade vortex while Aether looked like he’s struggling in which he needed to use both of his hands to control it. Lumine likes to stomps in her Geo burst cuz that’s how she shows her dominance to intimidate her enemies and Aether punches since he doesn’t really know whatever tricks Lumine does and just react everything defensively on his own.
But some part of what you said is true. There are defensive sword styles but in terms of combat,you should be the offensive first. Lumine is significantly a better fighter than Aether and Aether is simply by her side to protect her as an older brother. Now without Lumine by his side,he has to rely on himself and doesn’t know how and the inferiority complex he has from Lumine has shown with his fighting styles. He’s slightly more clumsier and more reserved which Lumine is more swift and graceful and also free with her movements. Either way,Traveler Aether and Abyss Aether are the same. Both of them
have a massive sense of insecurity due to their sibling and one is still in lost when his sibling (Abyss Lumine) turned her back against him and the other feels he has accomplished something where his sibling (Traveler Lumine) doesn’t.
The fact that both Len and Rin pair and Aether and Lumine pair kinda resemble each other with the same golden hair and identical twins trope...
I mean when I first started Genshin I actually mistook Aether and Lumine for being Len and Rin being a Vocaloid fan
