Its actually 100% impossible to become a billionaire. The only way to become one is by having a combination of either family wealth, labor exploitation, or government assistance. None of these billionaires would ever make it to the top if they grew up in poverty with a parent struggling to pay bills or any other common societal problems that 99% of us face.

I get what he means about what we have consumed has made them a billionnaire, and businesses like Amazon have notoriously poor conditions for employeds. However, it depends on the definition of "self-made" and whether you dismiss their start up phase or growth stages? If it's a financial question; if someone starts up a small business but gets a loan to fund it - are they now not self-made? - its not the bank or funders who started up and worked the business? Love or loathe them, I'd still class them as self-made. it was their decisions of what markets to get into, when and how to grow their business, finance their business. Their long hours and probably ruthless vision working to achieve it. We want people to do well, but easily detract from those that do reach heady heights. Maybe it's their ethics you should worry about, not their balance sheet.
A billionaire stole a billion. You cannot earn it. It's impossible. The ego you need to think you're so valuable and not another glob of compost like we all are.

5:00 that's what most people think about billionaires. Most people forget that billionaires also take part on global governance with the investments they make. I am not referring to the jobs they offer to people. but it is essential to understand that, billionaires play an important role in economy and society as a whole. Many time they work better than a government. Billionaires may be more efficient and effective in bringing goods in different ways, either on subsidizing a biolabs to develop vaccines to foundations [Bill&Mellinda] that bring better conditions to inhospitable areas of the world. However, I am not saying that all billionaires are beneficial. Looking at corrupt leaders that stay in power for the sole purpose of hoarding wealth without making an investment or philanthropic actions, do not represent any benefit for the society, therefore I will not join them in my thoughts.
These companies are a major benefit for the economy. In the time of the recession it was imperative for companies to survive so jobs would be available. Amazon, took the risk to innovate in the 90s they are warranted with there position. Elon musk innovated with the work on paypal. They deserve their wealth.
Absolutely false, these companies are not run or work from Elon or bezos, the workers and managers of these companies are what make the company rich musk did not design Tesla he just bought it, bezos doesn’t deliver the packages he just owns the Amazon name. Musk and bezos are dirty leeches and their companies are built off the backs of workers who create the wealth yet don’t receive any of it.
Bezos too NO risk, you know who actually risks? The workers risk their lives and health working hard every single day in these companies often working 12 hour days and driving fast to get packages on time. Musk and bezos risk NOTHING, the only risk they have is becoming a worker again.
I've noticed a lot of people, when poor, say, "there is no self made millionaire or billionaire". Yet whenever, they make the same decisions, take the same risks and become a millionaire or billionaire, they say "I'm self made, I worked hard amd earned this." Just sounds like enmity for the rich too me.

I beg to differ in the argument that we people enable billionaires. It is ultimately the government's fault for the lack of regulation and proper provision of laws regarding taxes, wages, and labor rights. The people are exploited as a result.
Then you don’t pay attention to politics. You have half the country gerrymandered and that half of the country believes taxing them is wrong and regulations are big government bad. Even Many moderates believe that as well.
Who enables and tolerates the government then?
Billionaires bought off the politicans years ago. Government is the shadow cast buy business.
@@brianholloway6205 both sides gerrymander, please hold democrats accountable too
@@mikafizz1022 ok… I don’t know why you people get on the internet and repeat these things. Please go and show me how democrats have gerrymandered AND how the have not been accountable and compliant with the judiciary. Then look at republicans.
Saying democrats did something once so they are the same is intellectually dishonest. Republicans are blatantly and woefully in breach of the VRA. Democrats have literally tried to ban gerrymandering through the John Lewis Act. Republicans have refused that. Your accountability argument is non existent

Self -made in an environment which they operate in to make this wealth accumulation possible..
Wait? WTF? What happened to unions. Everyone over the last few decades has bitched about the terrible unions, but said little about the workers who ARE protected by them. I've been a union man until retirement and let me tell you, the retirement is good .. not only by my company pension but also by my union pension. The unions gave me the ability to challenge jobs that were dangerous, not by their work, but by their lack of safety equipment to perform that work. Unions, good ones, take care of their workers, pay them a decent salary, and the rest is the ability to work safely as possible.
Anyone that says that's BS has never been in a good union...I have multiple times. Yeah, there are corrupt union officials but someone tell me where corruption is not present anywhere, including the church.
Very true
This is funny, look up who owns majority stake in this channel... Go ahead I'll wait. Is the system messed up? Yes... But I think Tesla has done a lot to make the environment better. To be clear the parent company of this channel profited as the "people" mentioned in this video.
I appreciate this to the fullest!
Maybe it's their ethics you should worry about, not their balance sheet.
omg! thank you for this!!

A billionaire stole a billion. You cannot earn it. It's impossible. The ego you need to think you're so valuable and not another glob of compost like we all are.
So who did Elon musk steal money from?

So, you don't believe in innovation through increasing competition of methods and ideas?
💯
Wrong.

Name one
Bernie Sanders
@@scholarwithasword591 Bernie got rich off of his job in government and his book sales. That's different than how a CEO gets rich.
Poor example.
@@TwiStedTentom Not really. Both just offer different goods or services to the public. Both are jobs. Sanders got hired to represent his constituents. He then wrote a book and got paid through the sales on that (800k+ just from the book deals). He also made a killing from real estate. Another interesting thing is that Congress determines it's own salary while a CEO does not; it's the Board of Directors that does that. Yet, I shall humor you and give you another name: Mark Cuban.

Buy stock and get your share. Time in the market beats timing the market. The pandemic made everybody with SP500 stocks rich.
At least Elon Musk is doing something good with his fortune; he’s working to improve the world of technology, energy, and help progress humanity into becoming a spacefaring species.
Contributing to space pollution. Decreasing competition and innovation. Pocketing incommensurate wealth for the amount of work he contributed and for the amount of risk he took on, while people die in the gutter literally in the U.S. in the country with the oligarchs with the combined greatest wealth ever in human history
