oh god this track... really makes you think of dave toiling away in the relentless heat for all those months... dark, harsh, suffocating. and the violin? his sister, somewhere else in the medium, trying to hold on to her sanity, playing her last song before her curtain closes. the end of the song is gentle, like a goodbye. the violin fades, and dave reverses alone through the harsh heat

You are now DAVE STRIDER. You've heard this track looping softly in the background, a sort of wind for your planet, for many, many, many iterations. At this point, the music serves as the backdrop of your very SOUL against the volatile gears and unforgiving lava of your planet. So much Heat. So much Clockwork. Not enough Time. What will you do?
Seeing my comment more than three years later is a bit jarring, especially when I disagree with it, lol. The way I'm hearing it, the main melody doesn't start on an offbeat; it just starts at an odd place in the phrase, subverting the previously set up flow of the piece. It also offsets some other melodic elements by a beat, further contributing to this feeling. So time shenanigans nevertheless, but not in the way past me thinks. I'm sure he'll get it some day 👌🏿.
The songs on this album are so... intense and synthetic sounding. Like the game is obviously synthetic and programming but it's so complex and organized with just a hint of what's practical child torture
so i was reading homestuck while listening to this and i was at the part where Jane's computer exploded and stuff and the part of this song that was on when i read that it really seemed to fit with it
And yeah. Shipping is fun. Because relationships are fun. Hussie has said that part of what Homestuck is about is friendships, specifically internet friendships. I don't think it's too far of a stretch to extend that to relationships too. Also, it's a comming of age story. About teenages. Relationships are bound to come up and also be a big deal because hey! Relationships are a big deal to a lot of teenagers.
@@Em_kat omg HAHA i was like 13 when i posted that. I learned like half of it but then stopped practicing LOL its so funny that people were keeping track.
the sound makes me aimagine a dramatically massive grandfather clock wit purple and gold lights(derse and prospit) with the pendulum swinging dramatically back and forth, sharp as a knife
It might actually be the same strings! I'm not sure if you heard, but that's a sample from garage band that is apparently very popular, as it is in many works.
Serious? Are you and I remembering the same Acts 1-4? Specifically Act 1. I mean. "Retrieve arms from chest!" Also, you do realize that most of the early commands were FAN suggestions and that people posted what they wanted to happen next and Hussie picked from there? But you want Hussie to ignore the fanbase. Oh okay. One of the things that makes Homestuck so great IS it's interaction with the fanbase.
Hmm, I guess I did misread your comment and also confused it with some of the other ones. I am sorry about that. I still think that the shiping stuff isn't completely bogus and that Homestuck is still serious. But, I guess we just disagree, and I ended up using your comment to share my thoughts. Thanks for not getting super mad at me.
This sounds like Dave's ascension into God Tier music. Really, imagine Dave on his planet and him and Rose are helping each other from their computers and then Jack appears behind him and Rose tells Dave to turn around then when Dave sees him everything gets all slow-mo and time slows down while Dave runs off to his God Tier Bed with Jack right behind him. soooo cooool!!!
Oh, and it's strange, but listening to this at the same time as I listen to Feed the Machine by Red, it seems like it has the same kinda... idk... Motion? Starts out soft, grows harder, gets soft again, then goes hard at the end... It's strange.
I just don't think those are reasons to feel like Homestuck is somehow worse than it used to be. Granted, I haven't been following from the beggining, so maybe it had a different feel when reading the early Acts serially instead of archive binging. I know that the current stuff feels a lot different because I'm reading them as they come out... Also, to each his own, if we disagree, oh well. sorry for the mini rant x)
Well i'm sorry. I'm not really from around here, and it would be possible that i use the old things from the Internet without knowing that everybody doesn't use it anymore. So Excuse me if i don't know.
I'll grant you the second part of that statement, but to the first, I must note that while you're correct about opinion-sharing, chances are posting your negative opinion of something on a song from said "something" will get a lot of people irritated with you. In essence, the comments section is meant for opinions, but from personal experience, I can say people on RUclips take disagreeing opinions and claim they were being presented as facts.
I think expressing opinions and blowing off a soundtrack series are two different things. Your opinion is taken way more harshly when it is an insult of someone else's. Just so you know the difference. "For the record", Your joke was hilarious *cough*.

Play this with wind: but only start it once Wind is about 22 seconds in. it's beautiful.
:O
It is!
Trying it out
Update: IT IS!
that's a point for johndave

Lmao facts
This album is incredible.
Ironically, the contrastingly titled songs "Heat" and "Shade" are my favorites.

I really want to ice skate to this song.
Lt. Commander Data I thought I was the only one who thought this would be great for a figure skating performance!
this somehow had become the theme song of heinoustuck for me
this sounds like a Davebot theme huh
Welcome to the dark carnival
This song reminds me a lot Beta Bro not the 3:00 part but just about every other bit of the song does.
When I hear this, I imagine this big machine or a mech or something clawing its way out of the lava in LoHaC.
This is what I live for
I haven't read much Homestuck, but the music is amazing
im in love with this track lkajds especially 3:00 - 3:32 ;v;
LOHAC. A perfect getaway for all time players!!! You'll always feel lonely and surrounded by lava!!! :D
For some reason the string reminds me of The Purple Worm from The Adventure Zone ost and I get really nervous because of the scene it was used in.

A little Doablo II second Act, a little Half Life 2, A lot of awesome
