    • @iaial0
      @iaial0 5 лет назад +13

      @@fedtsten that helps give in fact a bigger and fatter punch to the sound. Cons are that the drum head tends to wear a tad faster and the stick feels heavier and a bit less responsive, because sticks are balanced to be held by the bottom while he's holding it backwards

    • @bgpiper
      @bgpiper 7 лет назад +19

      As far as I know, it's really just a reference to something Jack Stratton says at the end of the song "Cory Wong" on the album Beautiful Game when he's talking about and complimenting the Bunker's jam in Minneapolis weekly performances with Cory Wong, Michael Bland, and Sonny T. One could argue that the musicians in this video must be playing at low volume in order to all be in the same room without bleeding into each other's mics too much, and to be able to hear each other clearly. I think the general idea is this music is "musical" and balanced with "low volume" subtleties; it's not in your face with a loud synth or vocal lead, etc.. At least that's my idea. I could be totally wrong. Maybe somebody else in the comments can help explain it better. The best person to ask would be Jack Stratton.

      4th position means which pickups he uses on his guitar

    • @jedisid
      @jedisid 7 лет назад +35

      The 4th Position is an out of phase combination of the Fender Stratocaster's middle and neck pickups. It's a unique sounding voicing of the instrument.

      Don't forget drum triggers, they're not evil. They can make a recording go from tight to jaw dropping. Even a small sub osc on the snare trigger is enough to make some of the most insane drum tracks.

    • @AidanXavier1
      @AidanXavier1 4 года назад +5

      The core band will always be the four rhythm section, then there's the extended family such as Cory, Joey, and Antwaun, the frequent collaborators like Nate Smith, and then guests like Michael Bland and Richie Rodriguez. (Though with those guys I think the band feels like the guests)

    • @jasminericenic
      @jasminericenic 4 года назад

      Aidan Xavier Usually the guests are different than the collaborators, because they only have appearances on certain songs once or twice. (Blake Mills, Pegasus Warning, Louis Cole, etc.)
