I've been binge watching your videos since a week and just loving it. Love your style and colours choises. But most of all I love that you insert your believe so natural in your floss tube. You put a smile on my face when you spoke about the red for the apple and corrected yourself by mention that it is a fruit in the tree of Life. I've not often heard this said correctly. I've tried to read the friday posts of your husband. The first two I understand but after that it was to complecated for me. You are an inspiration... not only in inserting your believe in your flosstube, but also with your open mind in changing thinks and trying new things.
You are so inspiring and so kind to share as you do. Love the idea of wrapping the thread around a plastic bottle. Happy for you that you received the beautiful fabric from your Mom and especially your awesome wool felt and fabrics from the sale. Looking forward to your next video.
Hello Colorado Stitcher !! I am just coming back to cross stitching after 20 yrs, so I need some fellow stitchers also. Thanks for all the great info and will be tuning in again soon. Claudia-Coon Rapids Minn.
Hi Claudia - I think the Colorado stitcher is awesome, too. (This comment went to the wrong channel it seems.) I hope you enjoy my channel as well. Blessings
I know this is an older video but I have to say that the Hill on the Barbra Ana was a beast!!!! I flubbed it up like six times!!! Then I plowed on and said to myself, that’s close enough!
Ah thanks Celeste. My hair took over an hour to get straight - my teenage daughter helped me. It's down almost to my waist since quarantine - lol. You are so talented - I'm happy to share your channel. Blessings, Cynthia
I enjoyed your video. It's hard to believe you have been stitching only a couple of years. You get alot done. I have a bee wall. I did brenda Gervais poppies I didn't put the felt flowers. I just stitched it. I did the Halloween piece too. I always have my things out. I have a long halls and I change them out. I did the freebie of the bee. I put it in a 4 in hoop.
I just enjoy your videos so much! You're fun and informative with beautiful stitching. I love that you don't stress over wonky stitches or things that don't go quite right. Plus your soothing manner is perfect for helping calming the frantic times we all seem to be living in right now.
Another great video, Cynthia. Thanks for sharing all your pretties and tutorials with us. Never considered overdying too bright floss! Have a good stitching week.
Wow, in the past 12 hours I was able to find answers to floss storage/kitting & tracking for WIP's!! Fortunately, I don't have too many in progress, but I am focusing on my cross stitch this year. So thank you so very much for your little booklet concept! Those sneaks are the bomb!
Hooray for you! I love that you don’t give up when a pattern doesn’t agree with your stitching! Lol. We’ve all “made it work “ when stitching. Loved your video!
Another wonderful video - just love to watch and listen about your stitching. Really liked your Patriotic Poppies. You truly are an artist with your colors and threads and your dyeing processes. Beautiful, beautiful pieces!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I am always happy to see a new video pop up from you - Deana
Fantastic finishes! Thank you for taking the time to share today. I enjoyed our visit. I'm slowing getting my stitching desire back. Hope you area well & stitch on!
Good for you for doing all those projects especially since you have only started not long ago. Great job and as long as you are having fun then it is all worth it. I do love the different threads that are used in charts....it gives me joy And, of course the more you stitch the better you get.
Hi from Nebraska! Love your channel. Your floss choices are so pretty. You have inspired me about dying floss. Some Halloween designs use such bright oranges, I’d like to try muting them a little. Just a suggestion on the hill you’re having trouble with....when I have a design I know has to be counted exactly, I grab a spool of bright red sewing thread and sew a 10x10 stitch grid into the fabric. It helps me stay on track and I can catch errors before I go far wrong. It saves me a lot of cussing. ;-) Keep stitching!
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I may resort to gridding - I had to rip out the oval wreath above the hill yesterday - argh. I'm surprise you didn't hear me in Nebraska - lol. Hope to visit again soon. Blessings
I love the finish on the Kathy Schmitz. I’ve made a lot of her embroidery stuff. I’ve been doing tons of embroidery during this time (instead of focusing on all my applique projects I need to get done). I’m working on a darling Crabapple Hill bee embroidery pattern. it is so cute and I can’t wait to get it done. Your Bee well finished well. It looks good on the paddle. Great job on that. I was searching for a pattern and came across a bunch of very very old embroidery stitching and can’t figure out why I never finished it but it was early embroidery. It was really prim and vintage and the stitches were HUGE. I could not believe looking at that how far I’ve come with my stitching. I pulled out all of the stitches and re-stitched it and it just looks darling! I finished it on an antique washboard. So you’ll get there with the embroidery. I love the Patriotic Poppies. I absolutely love that piece.
You are very ambitious, I started cross stitch in 2017 and I stick to 14 or 16 Aida. And you have took on some detailed pieces. Good for you, I stick to pretty simple, am doing my own design now of my cat I have done a blue heron the rest is pretty simple You stitch Lovely things. I put my stuff on Instagram, not a FB person and I do not have what it takes to do you tube.
Hi Cynthia! You have some beautiful finishes there! I, too, am a bee lover and have quite a growing collection. Kathy Schmitz has several wonderful bee patterns that I am stitching, too. After all, cross stitch is a type of embroidery, so her patterns are just a little different thing to do. Have a great couple of weeks stitching and I will see you soon! 🐝🌼🐞🌺🐌🌸😻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Cynthia, Thank you so much for the shout out about my channel - The Just BeeCuzz Buzz. I really appreciate it! I love both of your bee finishes. They are beautiful! Thank you for the tutorials at the end. Also, Consider the Lilies is going to be spectacular! That chart is gorgeous. When I finish more of my WIPs, I may consider it, LOL. Have a great week.
Cynthia -- another lovely visit with you! Very nice stitching and finishes. Thank you for including your video tutorial on overdying floss. I have a large ziplock bag of Red Anchor Floss that I picked up at Goodwill a long time ago. I have done redwork embroidery (you really need a hoop for embroidery for the tension) with it but considered it too bright for my tastes -- I'm going to try my hand at overdying very soon. A red sampler may be in the near future. Blessings from Nebraska!
So glad you decided to continue on the your hawk run piece, I finished this one and it’s beautiful when done! Happy Stitching, stay safe from a fellow Texan! Happy Stitching 😊
This was my first time watching your channel. I really enjoyed it 😍 Thanks for being so thorough and adding the tutorials. I’ll definitely be back for more ❤️
Thank you Cynthia. I just loved your bee finish and the embroidery. I finished Matilda Hornbuckle and she turned out just darling! I changed some colors and added her name. She is going to go on a wooden pumpkin.
Hello from Oklahoma! Thank you for another great video! I'm really enjoying your approach to prim! Your hand embroidered bee's keep is adorable. You mentioned how difficult French knots are and I wanted to share a tip from Mary Corbet of Needle n Thread. She is an amazing embroiderer and has great tutorials. Her tip is using a milliner's needle when doing French knots. The eye of the needle is the same diameter as the shaft. Thank you, also, for sharing your thread dyeing information. I'm learning a lot from you!
Gail - thank you! I am learning from you, too. I will try that needle out for sure. Where in Ok are you? I've lived all over. I graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee and now my family is in Tulsa/Collinsville.
Loved catching up with you today! You’ve sure been a busy bee lately. Good for you! Also, I love hearing the chatter of your kiddos in the background of your video. Loved seeing the dyeing tutorial. True confession- I’ve never dyed fabric or threads before and I admire you brave souls that do. I watched Celeste’s first FlossTube video today and really loved it! I need to check out Merrit’s as well. Thank you for sharing your talents and inspiring us! -Suzy :)
This is my first time on your channel and I love your projects! Your Hawk Run Hollow piece is gorgeous and you just started stitching? Wow! You pick such big projects! I totally understand what you mean about borrowing threads from fully kitted projects...I really don't like doing that. I usually try to buy all the threads for each project so they are ready to go when I am. :) When I'm done with a project, I put the leftover threads on separate rings for each type of thread (GAST, WDW, Classic Colorworks) to use later. Thank you for sharing!
What a great idea if you write it and can look see where it is.. I can’t afford to buy multiples and yea can’t find them after. Lol. Can you fold your page at the fold and tape them-so doesn’t look like it’s divided.
Hi Cindy - Thanks for watching! I think you are referring to my all creatures... by Barbara Ana. I never completed my thought in explaining the creative poppies download. The sizes of the different chart pages do not line up! argh so frustrating. I usually tape together to make a giant chart and then fold but the hill is slightly bigger on the 2nd page. I may try to stitch from my computer on zoom. Hope you have a happy stitching week!
I have a suggestion for your counting woes. Have you considered gridding your work? I do, and it has made a huge difference for me, especially now that I'm doing larger, more intricate pieces.
I may end up doing the gridding - thanks Jyl. Right now I'm stitching from a blown up copy on the computer that doesn't have page breaks - much better thank goodness. I hope you visit again soon. Happy stitching!
I don’t know what kind of computer you have ,but if you have an iPad GoodReader is good for cross stitch patterns, I understand that ezpdf is a good one for Android is good. Of course pattern keeper is great for long dog patterns and HAED.
Beautiful work! I love your cute embroidery piece. I discovered Redwork (can be any color I think) when I was in Kelseyville, California. In this little town was a lovely stitching shop, Robin Kingsley of Bird Brain Designs. I think you could use many of her designs and make them prim. Her snowmen are adoreable. I have done several of her dishtowels. Bird Brain is on Facebook. I could go on and on... lol. She has a booklet with "how to" embroidery stitches also. She does quilts, Redwork and cross stitch. Thanks again for a lovely video.
I enjoy your channel and share a love of the Lord and have some of the same pieces.I am going to have to go back and see the posts I have missed. Here is a question. Some of the dyed linens have subtle puddles of color as if the dye was sprayed on. Do you think it would work?
Oh - that is an interesting idea - Thanks! It sounds like the antiquing spray that quilters use. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks so much for watching :)
So interesting that you dipped floss in rit dye and coffee to soften or prim the color! Can I ask if the bri wax you use is clear in color? Love the old quilt behind you!
HI Michelle. I actually used clear SC Johnson wax when I looked - same idea as Briwax. It is super smelly but works great - I did my whole king sized bed frame with it. The quilt was my hubby's great- grandma's work. Thanks so much for watching:)
Love what you showed. I would like to stich several of them myself. Would you consider using a mic? I have my volu.ne all the way up and still find it really hard to hear what you are saying. I will try bluetoothing to a speaker that may help.
Sorry about that Rebecca - I will up the volume on the editing next time. my new phone seemed to pick me up a lot better but I have a very soft voice so I understand. Thanks so much for watching:)
Love your beautiful wips and your finishes are perfect!!! Great tutorial as well. Where in Hobby Lobby is the wooden piece you painted? It looks beautiful!!
Thank you so much! Sara I found those in the seasonal section at the front of my Hob Lob - Fall table runners and placemats and such. I'm sure they didn't intend for it to be covered with stitching - lol. Blessings
I wouldn't wash my stitching but the floss doesn't bleed on the fabric at all. The vinegar really helped to set the dye because the water ran clear when I rinsed the floss. Thanks so much for watching :)
Yes, I dipped the floss in the vinegar water just till saturated. The yarn dying videos I have been watching soak the fiber in vinegar first to help the dye set - so I thought I'd give it a try. I did notice a lot less dye rinsed out after the initial drying time in the sun. I still would not assume colorfast but it was much improved. Thanks for watching :)
Linda Escue Briwax is a brand of furniture wax. I actually used SC Johnson. When you wipe it over a wood surface it seals and after drying overnight I buff the finish so it glows. It’s a great finish for wood. It is pretty noxious though so I use outside. 😊
Looking at the last piece you show , the whiteness of the frame doesn't complement the colors of the piece. An easy fix would be to darken the frame by painting or staining it in some kind of brown or dark green. Otherwise your pieces are lovely.
My mom had already painted the poppies frame off white - I just brushed some white chalk paint over top to brighten it a bit. I think it had yellowed in the sun.
I've been binge watching your videos since a week and just loving it. Love your style and colours choises. But most of all I love that you insert your believe so natural in your floss tube. Thank you Cynthia. I just loved your bee finish and the embroidery. I finished Matilda Hornbuckle and she turned out just darling! I changed some colors and added her name. She is going to go on a wooden pumpkin.
Cassandra Casto good idea. The name is part of the appeal right? Thanks for watching and happy stitching 😊
Hello from Oklahoma! Thank you for another great video! I'm really enjoying your approach to prim! Your hand embroidered bee's keep is adorable. Thanks so much April :)
Bee Well is so darling❤️
thank you so much :)
Loved watching you girl 💙
So glad! Happy stitching!
Loved catching up with you today! You’ve sure been a busy bee lately. Good for you! Also, I love hearing the chatter of your kiddos in the background of your video. Loved seeing the dyeing tutorial. Oh thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed. Blessing to you, Cyn :)
Gurrrlllllll, take all my money, I neeeeeeeed to purchase one of those project bags!!!
Oh wow - thanks so much - be watching instagram. I'm planning to start a shop in September :)
Thanks so much Jodi. I appreciate your comment :)
I love your converse shoes!!!❤️
Marie Shaw oh yay. I really love shoes and they never show in a video 😂
Hi Chris - I think I will definitely do more embroidery - fun and so much faster. thanks so much for visiting - Blessings
Sure miss you!! Hope you are doing well!!!
Your lace is antique but it is machine made. I have taught various laces for 35 years so thought I would help you.
Beautiful stitching and finishing ☺️I just order fall at Hawk Run Hollow
Hoops and Needles ooh I love that piece ❤️. Thanks so much for the sweet comment 😊

Blessings
When you dye the floss does it bleed onto the fabric, especially that red. I amazing to watch.
I wouldn't wash my stitching but the floss doesn't bleed on the fabric at all. The vinegar really helped to set the dye because the water ran clear when I rinsed the floss. Thanks so much for watching :)
Hello are able to say where are you picked up the pear design kind regards
Hi Yadira - the link is in the description box to the santa and samplers blog. She has a tab called 'pears on her site. Thanks for watching :)
How did the vinegar come into play? Did you soak the floss in the vinegar first?
Yes, I dipped the floss in the vinegar water just till saturated. The yarn dying videos I have been watching soak the fiber in vinegar first to help the dye set - so I thought I'd give it a try. I did notice a lot less dye rinsed out after the initial drying time in the sun. I still would not assume colorfast but it was much improved. Thanks for watching :)
Where do you buy Bree? Wax. I am not familiar with it
Linda Escue Briwax is a brand of furniture wax.
Did you paint the frame?
My mom had already painted the poppies frame off white - I just brushed some white chalk paint over top to brighten it a bit. I think it had yellowed in the sun.
