DBS trying to make SSG "useful'" compared to SSB with the stamina issue feels very repetitive considering we've already been over that with Base Form vs Kaioken, Vegeta's ascended SS vs Goku's mastered SS, and SS2 vs SS3 to where Super doing it *again* feels pointless, especially since stamina lasts as long as the plot says it does.
That’s very true 🤔. Even Super Saiyan 4 doesn’t have any drawbacks than the God Forms.
It's worse than that! They only achieved blue because whis taught goku and vegeta to retain their power without draining stamina!! They trained in another dimention to do so.
Now?.... SSB drains stamina?! Makes no fucking sense because that's the point Goku made to frieza in RoF!!

@@MrANTIeggman Frieza had very bad stamina problems, he hadn’t trained the form, once he got it he went to earth instantly, that was his mistake, and in manga goku was working towards a full power super saiyan blue or “perfected super saiyan blue” but it put a strain to conceal the aura
When super saiyan blue was announced I thought it would be weaker than super saiyan god. I imagined it would be like the end of battle of gods, using some leftover god ki with ssj to compensate the lack of power until they could find a way to master the god form. Didn't expect them to just make blue the new strongest thing ever and didn't expect it to struggle so much against freeza.

Was insane. And the reason that fails is because that means SSB is weaker that SSG but that doesn't make any sense since Goku had switched between the forms before. And the residual god ki should still leave him empowered even without the color change but they don't do anything with god ki. Like someone else said it just feels like another multiplier

it's a MOVIE so you need a NEW form. but it needs to be STRONGER. but the villain needs to be a threat, so make him EVEN STRONGER.

They did too little with them and introduced new forms too early imo.
With Resurrection F they could’ve show cased how Friezas final form surpassed all the known SSJ forms, introduced his own golden form to mock them then show Goku going SSG ( Red ) and beating Froeza with that form.

If they wanted to showcase that Goku’s Base form was still far past final form Frieza then they could’ve showcased his SSG ( red form ). frieza would then showcase his golden form, beat that and THEN Goku would destroy him with SSGSS ( blue form )

Or Vegeta, since he has more reasons to go after Frieza. I mean the emperor tormented the saiyan prince for years and he never got revenge for it. So like a chump, when Goku said he willl take Frieza, Vegeta said ok. No!!! He shouldve said Goku can eat it, he’ll take on Frieza! Vegeta uses red for the majority of the fight and when he was about to lose, he goes blue, showing us his growth as a character and how he is no longer haunted by the past and will finally get his revenge!
IMO Blue should have never been a thing, and Red should have been MUCH more difficult to attain. Think about how hard it was just to get SSJ 1 and 2. Even 3 took 7 years of afterlife training, something most people could never have access to, in order to unlock it. I may not like 3, but I must still admit that it was a feat of hard work and training with its own unique disadvantages. But God is just 6 good guy saiyans holding hands for a bit. By comparison, that is just...so lame. I also don't like how it doesn't really tie into the pre-established lore of the saiyans. It's just...put enough super saiyans in there. At least 4 tied it back to the oozaru.
All these new forms make attaining them useless because Toriyama and the others "accidentally" written themselves into a corner and needed an easy cheap way for Goku to win it doesn't feel special anymore since nowadays it quantity over quality Goku going SS for the first time in DBZ is undercut by SSB and Ultra Ignorance or Gohan vs Cell is also undercut ruining Gohan's development by giving him a pointless form that's gonna be discarded by the next movie where's the effort DB used to have? Least GT and Evolution choose to tell a story instead of pandering to the fanboys.
It would’ve been cold if Goku Perfected Ssg in the movie while fighting frieza and have Ssg be like his last option and have him perfect it by seeing Frieza hurt his family then he proceeds to beat the shit out of frieza while
I wish blue never happened, or at least not as soon as it did. Would of also been cool if Goku and Vegeta had to depend on the ritual to obtain the form for it's first few uses, and only after mastering it would they be able to tap into it at will. Relying on the ritual would add more urgency and impact to the form similar to fusion.
I wish SSB or SG never happened. SSJ, SSJ 2, SSJ 3 looked great. I would rather just have SSJ4, than anything in DBS.

Goku shouldn’t have gone from one movie just getting a new form to the next movie having that form + SSJ already figured out without much stamina loss.
At least this way there would’ve been more reliance on the old super saiyan forms and blue wouldn’t even exist yet. SSJG was a MASSIVE leap forward that was never even brought up again until literally like 4 fucking arcs later.

Could you imagine if blue was introduced in the top to beat jiren? It would be a nostalgia trip because it would be like when goku went super saiyan against frieza, but god would have had tons of screen time and ssb would have had some glory.
The whole concept behind SSB is sort of similar to Ultra instinct, stay calm, fight without distractions or emotions. If SSG was the main form throughout super, and SSB was properly built up instead of whis just telling them how to do it, then seeing it be the form to defeat jiren would’ve been so satisfying (although I wish they’d kept up with the slimmed down physique for SSB too, bc jiren was a wall of muscle and anger)

Damn right, if the Universal Tournament arc just go back to the roots with everyone fighting with their quirks and techniques, then introduce the big power up in TOP, it will make the story flow so much better instead of just another repetition of my power up is stronger than your power up, let's just ignore the Zamasu arc because that one feels like filler and fanservice more than actual arc.

The excessive transformations has been a problem long before God or Blue. The fact that numerous video games don’t even distinguish between SSJ1 and SSJ2 speaks volumes, never mind the 3 other forms in between them which for the most part have been abandoned.
I've never seen any Dragon Ball game where they don't distinguish SSJ1 and SSJ2, so I don't know what are you talking about
@@CainDB my first dragonball game for starters, Ultimate Battle 22. I believe most Butoden games also do this. DBZ Legend is another one. I’m sure there are others.
@@cbonnici Ultimate Battle 22 was one of the most primitive Dragon Ball games ever, even on NES and SNES and even GAMEBOY you could find better DB games than this shit, Dragon Ball Legends IS A MOBILE CARD GAME THAT SOLDS ONE CHARACTER 1000 TIMES IN DIFFERENT OUTFIT, FORMS AND FRAGMENTS OF TIME to simply make money, your examples were probably the worst ones you could mention, Butoden on DS consoles were also extremely primitive and the only good thing about them was sprite work, nobody rememberes those games (except Legends) because they were shit and primitive, they are not good examples, better example would be Kakarot or Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi games

It's you opinion, and I'm happy that you could enjoy them, not many could, but the FACT is that they were primitive as hell even for their time, Ultimate Battle 22 especially, character roaster was so damn random, fightning was clunky and it looked worse than some SNES fightning games
I still don't know why Akira wanted to call the first form Super Sayian God when Saiyan God would've worked just fine which frees up Super Sayian God for Blue.

@@disgruntledmanlet Another issue of not thinking ahead is the calmness of SSB. Universe 7 SSJ (minus Goten and Trunks) requires anger as part of the trigger to first acquire it plus the form often focuses on it as a power amp. Why an anger-based transformation is required to turn a God form into a calm one makes no sense. That's why I prefer to ignore that little issue as the only decent SSB transformation is Goku vs Broly as you actually see Goku in a bit of a rage as he goes from SSG to SSB.
He's old as hell, sometimes simple ideas like that tend to pass by. Like how I thought Evolved Blue was SSGSS2, so I thought we'd get a Super Saiyan God 3 or SSJ Blue 3? Nope. 😒

I actually thought that SSG was pretty cool. I liked that it looked more like base and was leaner as opposed to bulking up. To me I feel like the weakness of Blue was that it was going SSJ while also already using SSG. But why did they never try to use SSJ2 with SSG? Or SSJ3 with SSG? It's mostly irrelevant now that they have UI and UE. Until they start combining those forms with other forms too anyway.

Which means Super Saiyan Blue 3 would be absolutely busted.
Funny thing is, UI is a technique, like Kaioken, while UE is a form. And Goku in the Manga is ALREADY stacking UI on Blue with no effort and gets oneshotted (with a one-inch punch no less) by Granolah. FML

Yea the sayain root transformation makes more sense than god ki. Not to mention ki is already spiritual so adding “god” to it doesn’t make it stand out. Regular ki should have been it and regular evolved super sayain transformations related to the sayain race would have been better
Nah I don’t want them to incorporate ssj4. They would find a way to make the form weak and lose its first appearance.
@@jlopez240gaming7 I agree ssj4 is a bit old. But the transformation have to be tied to the Saiyan race. That’s how they become unique.
This is why i love SSJ4 waaaay more than god and Blue. The explanation for why the saiyans are able to attain it, it made perfect sense and didn’t feel to “out of nowhere”

God Ki has just become another multiplier. The same is happening to Ultra Instinct in the manga: now almost every character can simply train to surpass it and there's no need to have some sort of godly technique/form. That's why Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue are underwhelming.

In my mind, I would have gone about
Resurrection F like this: the saiyans are still struggling with god ki and haven't had access to the form since battle of gods. They've gotten much stronger through the training though. Instead of goku taking the front, vegeta faces off against frieza and until he goes gold, vegeta is handling him quite well. After the power up though, frieza begins to wail on ssj2 vegeta even with his angelic training, reminiscing about namek. Gohan and the others beg goku to help vegeta, but the emperor is too powerful for any of them. Goku then gets an insane idea, asking gohan, goten and trunks for their energy in order for a desperate last ditch God ritual, hoping that his minute amount of God ki he's obtained training with whis will be enough to jump start vegeta. He yells across the battlefield with a massive ball of energy, frieza just smiles and holds the near dead saiyan prince up as a meat shield. Goku doesn't appear to stop as he launches the sphere and frieza throws vegeta at it, thinking it will just kill him. As the tyrant laughs, goku looks desperate, but then smiles triumphantly. Frieza stops laughing as the energy ball doesn't explode, instead it glows brightly and then shrinks, as it fades it reveals vegeta, fully healed and glaring down at frieza with firey red eyes. Frieza attempts to fight back, but it essentially plays out like vegeta vs base broly, it's not even fair. As he holds frieza by the throat, his golden power literally beaten out of him vegeta gives him some final words.
"The once ruthless emperor of the universe, now begging for his life like the countless who begged for theirs before him. How poetic." With that, he blasts frieza back to the afterlife and now that both saiyans have experienced super saiyan god, they can work together to achieve it at will

Blue is an attempt to redo the feel of Super Saiyan and feel into the same obscurity over the amount of times the form takes L after L. SSJ3 and SSJ4 still best forms.
Personally i never like the look of 3, but 4 is and will always be my favourite, id like to see it back but at this point i think it would simply be too flat compared to the fizz of ui and ue if you get me

@@hitz4754 Yeah SSJ4 has the benefit not having a form follow it up in its series, but SSJ3 is RARE and always badass looking and was a Top 3 Reveal in DBZ I think. But yeah SSJ4 is easily awesome in look and power

I really like the idea of blue being an extremely difficult form to maintain and them dropping out of it the second they lose even an ounce of serenity.
I feel like the forms were just mishandled. Because goku spammed blue so often, it diminished its weight and significance in the story.
Instead of it being used to symbol power, it was used to gauge how strong other characters were in comparison. Not only that, i don’t think blue has any victories outside of Goku vs. Hit.

I totally agree. Right on point. And, I've been a Dragon Ball fan sense the 90s. Yeah, they should given the god forms some special techniques, and not a bunch of forms, which is lazy bull crap, because the writers use this to get more hype and views. To me, it's just a color change, like, Mr. Rodgers t.v series, by his different colored jackets and shoes.
Honestly, when I saw Trunks returning the way in which he did when so much could have been done much better with us seeing him again, I pretty much walked from there. In fact, you can tell it was for not only those two, but when money's involved would a character's most key who made them would also return without any sign of explanation. His sword.

The problem I've always had with the god forms is that god ki isn't, functionally, any different than regular ki. I had completely forgotten about the tranquility aspect, but if that wasn't gonna matter, god ki should at least have some unique properties. Once everyone started being able to fight at the same level, god ki amounts to nothing, hence, the power ups are just the new standard SSJ and don't matter
God ki is undetectable by people without it is the only property i can think of. And they do nothing with it as well. It's also unclear to me what does and doesn't require God ki. Like does Ultra ego and instinct need it and why? Do the other characters have god ki now?
I can agree with the points that are brought to the table. I never liked SSB because i feel it was just thrown, and SSG had a lot of potential to be explored. Not just from the self healing trick but because it 'wasn't stable' in my opinion. The time limit was a good trick to add in and if used right could have a genuine obstacle that Goku and Vegeta had to steadily overcome throughout the series. Sure they could have 'cheated' using the hyperbolic time chamber to speed up how much time had since they started training with the godly power in order to better adjust to the power ut still, i think it would have been better to have them slowly getting used to the god power and as they do they discovered new techniques that could only be used in their god forms and some more unique traits associated with it.
As for Blue, and this is just my personal thought, I think it would have been better that if the writers still wanted to show it off in Ressurection F that it was a last second discovery of sorts. Like ok main guys are getting pummeled into the ground and about to lose, so they try to pull out more power from SSG and accidently go Super Saiyan at the same time and instead go Blue. Everyone basically goes "what the F is that?" and Whis goes "I'm actually not that certain." SSB makes its brief appearance, wipes the floor with Frieza and immediately burns out whatever power our resident saiyan has left cause they don't remotely know how to regulate - let alone handle that level of power yet. Either way they figure out theres a level above SSG that they can reach, and Goku and Vegeta try to figure out how to tap into that power again at some point. Honestly even if they chose to just make it another transformation they had afterwards maybe they could have just kept having it as a last resort, a "power beyond SSG" that can all but one shot whatever they come across but, again, burns out fast as all hell.
Anyway those are my personal thoughts, on how they could have been handled, anyone else have anything to share or add?
That would be interesting you made, although I do feel like Blue should be Vegeta exclusive Super Saiyan God form without adding Super Saiyan into the mix. As for Goku keeping Super Saiyan God/Red

I think using the white hair from instinct as a base SSG form and then having it branch to either red or blue, having each form equally strong but focused on different aspects of fighting, would have been one potential way to organize the jumble of power ups that we got. It also would have made each one viable for future battles instead of just introducing and immediately discarding like trash.
i can actually see that now that i've read your comment AKIRA HIRE THIS MAN HE'S GOT TRUE BRAINS FOR THIS TYPE OF THING that would be so entertaining to see then just make the rest of it all them mastering each of the aspects in each other the forms, the only downside i see is that in time he would have mixed them all together normal super saiyan but the aura would be all the aspect colours

Really? I did not know this. At least that is something different from their other forms, something unique. Kind of like how SSJ4 in GT had its own unique skills.
@@cainabel6356 yea the forms have to be unique and have traits that have to be followed otherwise the forms don’t work. The writing in super was garbage and made ssj blue just like ssj expect with blue hair. That’s literaly it, and the concept of god ki is Thrown out the window when you could achieve ultra instinct which any character can get whether they have god ki or not. In the manga master Roshi uses ultra instinct for a moment which leads to Goku tapping into that power. I think transformation needs to happen like that where it is unique. Not just shouting all the time and not using the traits of the forms.

You know how forgotten SSG was? The transformation only recently became available in Xenoverse 2 earlier this year (iirc) while SSB and SSBE have been out for a couple of years now.
I feel like transformation should be unique to either the sayain characteristics or the personality traits of the character. Or if they wanted to do the god ki route. They should have done the sayain heritage attached to it and really empasisied the “sayain warrior race” aspects of it.
@@pavanraj4125 The most unique thing about Super Saiyan God, in Xenoverse 2 anyway, is that they made a Male and Female version of the Awoken. I dunno what the difference is full sale, but that much sticks out to me. And I guess the animation is cool too. Simple, but cool.

The things about these two new forms is that they were introduced too fast, they were practically unexplored, and then they got tossed aside in favr of Ultra Instinct( which was tossed aside in favor of Mastered Ultra Instinct)
They could also introduce Beerus and Whis slower: not just "cat dude appears>cat dude rlfstomps SSJ3>Goku immediately says fusion does not work> everyone else is humilliated by cat dude> shonen bullshit happens>Goku can nowsquare off with cat dude.
More like: The fight with Beerus happens in the very last minutes of the movie and the rest of it is just good old Dragonball humor and silliness, but instead of everyone falling behind Goku (AGAIN) make it so Goku and Mystic Gohan are the only ones who can somewhat give the cat a bit of entertainment, Vegeta gets humbled and decides to do the Fusion Dance with Goku. When the dance times out, Beerus decides he was just joking with the whole "destroy Earth because Buu didn´t want t share", because Whis managed to get several recipes from Bulma´s cooks, then he tells Goku to search for a new level of power and leaves....whilst casting an aside glance on Gohan and Vegeta.
Resurrection of F happens when remnants of Frieza´s goons sneak into earth, revive Frieza, but instead of him getting a lazy new paintjob, he gets something akin to Cooler´s final form. Instead of him being lazing and magically catching up to Goku with some pushups and sit ups, it is reveal that he gained that forms thanks to meditation whilst being in Hell.
Goku, Gohan and Vegeta fight Frieza, Goku reveals he can reach...let´s not call it "Super Saiyan God", but "God Saiyan(Godly Saiyan/Divine Saiyan), and then he gets too overconfident, is defeated, but since Frieza´s living body can´t handle his new forms (a callback to Goku having the same issues with SSJ3) he is weakened, and gets blasted by a combined attack from Gohan and Vegeta.
When Goku Black appears, he reveals his "Super Saiyan Rosé", which inspires Goku, Vegeta and Gohan to reach Godlike levels of power. Gohan starts giving hints of the Beast Form (without reverting to his SSJ forms) while Goku and Vegeta reach the God Saiyan forms.
So...does Goku at any point reach Super Saiyan Blue?
First, since the form is described as a Saiyan transforming into Super Saiyan using God ki, and we all know Super Saiyan is reached thanks to intense emotions, let´s give it an adequate moment to appear:
When Jiren attacks the spectators of the Tournament of Power.
As others have posted, that would give SSG ample time to shine, and it would make SSB(which would be called Super Saiyan God or Divine Super Saiyan or something like that) a suitably dramatic moment to appear.
And to take a leaf frm MasakoX, we could combine the new "Super Saiyan God" with the skills of the Ultra Instinct forms: greatly enhanced perception and reflexes to attack with pinpoint accuracy and defend flawlessly from all attacks...whilst having the drawback of putting a strain in the body like UI did.
Just my two cents on how to rewrite these....recolors.
You're exactly right about everything. This is the problem with introducing new forms without build up and right at the damn beginning of the story. Because there has to be tension for the plot the form has to struggle against something. But the fact that it's brand new and already struggling makes it feel like it didn't accomplish anything

That's how I felt God in its very first appearance. Yeah, Beerus better, I get it. But even in its introduction, it felt terribly weak. No unique properties to speak of, accomplished nothing, had no cool scenes at all.

They could have had Blue be a super saiyan tapping into God Ki, and SSGod being mastery of pure God Ki. That's what I thought it was too, back when many of the fans thought Red was more powerful/faster. We thought that because it was so jarring how Blue appeared out of nowhere in ROF. And honestly, that would have made more sense, especially for Vegeta.
I wish for an universe where the story went a different way, where the second movie was about an intruder from another universe invading the universe 7, Vegeta training with Whis because he has no idea of how to reach that realm of the Gods for the desire to have power to protect his family. While Goku using his experience on the God form and as a martial artist, on his own re-discovering the power of the Gods (Super Saiyanjin God), both of then going after this intruder for different reason, Goku because of Kaio-Sama/King kai asked if he could help with this problem. And Whis sends Vegeta to deal with this intruder as a test to see how far his training is coming... Ah the possibilities that we didn't get
I used to love dbz. As the top anime of all time. After watching thousands more I understand its not even top 100. As far as story writing and character development this franchise has all of the greatest set ups with the worst fumbles.

The problem with DB Super, in my opinion, is that it had a very sterilized and corporate feel to it.
The next antagonist was too high of a jump in power, so the next SS transformation also had to be an insta-power up with no training. So we got the SS God form, which needed a surprisingly simple ritual so it's a wonder how there weren't any more SS Gods before this. Saiyans want strength after all, they'll be the first to use this ritual(and they would know of it before anybody else, since it's a Saiyan ritual).
Then before we know it both Goku and Vegeta are training with their SS blue forms. And in every major fight it's been used it has been made to look bad. So neither of the forms are earned and both have very little impact, as you said.
But if you think about it, it's all about making the current form look bad so they can discover the NEXT form. And when THAT fails.....onto the next. This will lead to sale of more merchandise, since there's no shortage of DB fans who want it. Just look at what happened to Star Wars.
Yea it’s honestly turned me off from the series. Dragon ball fans be eating shit up like nothing. It’s like you turn your brain off and consume. And that’s how you enjoy modern day dragon ball.
You are overlooking the fact the ritual has been stated to need "saiyans with righteous hearts." To the audience, that sounds like they need to be aligned with good, and majority of saiyans weren't like that in the old universe 7 timeline.

I'm sure there were plenty of Saiyans who had pure hearts, if Vegeta's case is considered.
The issue here is the writing. Goku is the pure character. Vegeta, like Piccolo, only became a better person.
The way I see it, either:
1)there were many pure-hearted saiyans all over Planet Vegeta because it's easier to become pure- hearted.
2)or Vegeta should be left out of the ritual because his character is too stained by his evil deeds.

I think about how the entire saiyan race could go ssj and perform the god ritual all the time. If they weren't such terrible people and cared about each other, the possibility to go ssj is there.
And super still disappoints me today for not showing how Vegeta got the god form. Since we never saw a ritual, it implies he did it with training. By what Whis showed for god ki training, all they did was keep their ki from leaking. Based on that logic any saiyan should already use god ki previously, but the series never explains.

Super Saiyan God (Red) is my favorite form and it does bother me a little bit that it got overshadowed and less used but I still love all the forms
Listening in to this 6 minutes in, Super Saiyan Rose, a villain derivative to the Super Saiyan Blue form, was ironically the most successful god form. It gained adequate development regarding the strength of the form. It just...dominated, and it was really hard to see people winning against it. No matter what Goku, Vegeta or Trunks did, Rose was always a step above and it cleaned house. Not to say all transformations should stack above their foe constantly, but it lived to the hype.
to be fair before god they couldnt do anything to base goku black really and Rose coming into it well its not a surprise blue ment nothing to it i think the best chance they had to beat goku black in his rose form was Vegito blue but it still would have been a struggle i mean hell the guy never lost really (i dont include fused zamasu as a goku black and zamasu loss as its clearly stated in previous arcs and such that the fusions a completely different person to begin with) to me its similar to the original Z broly fight they couldnt do nothing to him period untill they all combined thier energy into goku same pretty much against goku black yes he di get hurt but never badly and most of the time he let them hit him plus he would recover nearly instantly unless he wanted to toy with his enemies making them think he was knocked out when he actually wasnt just like he did to raged up blue goku
SSJR actually ended up more memorable on Goku black than SSB itself is on Goku.
Design wise and concept, I feel Ultra Ego would be the best design for Super Saiyan God:
- looks closest to Super Saiyan 3 of all of them
- is destructive what Saiyans used to be
God Ki itself is completely pointless. There are no advantages or disadvantages to normal Ki. Only people used to sense normal Ki can't sense God Ki (unless the writers forgot and they can). And in a series were most enemies can't sense ki or are gods and can sense both variation, God Ki will never come in handy.

god ki gives access to hakai and a healing factor, and thats pretty much it

As for Hakai you need destroyer ki which is not the same as god ki.

God Ki being the colour Red made sense for Goku. Bravery, Passion and Selflessness are all character traits of our hero Goku and the colour Red.
Royalty and Tranquility are normally associated with the colour Blue so maybe that would be better suited for Vegeta.
Unfortunately all of these concepts are meaningless and we've been given 2 simple uninspired pallet swaps.

In my honest opinion, the greatest example of using transformation perfectly were the zanpacto from Bleach.
Each transformation was unique to every character's personality/background/narrative, was a surprise gift box, and pushed story forward.

Kubo went too far with Zanpakuto's unique abilities later on in the story in my opinion. The worst example is the Thousand Year Blood War Arc where the Shinigamis conveniently fight against enemies whose powers they can counter, despite only just meeting for the first time. Urahara's Bankai comes to mind.
Mybye it's more of a testament on how messy the last arc is.

The biggest issue with the SSB is what a giant problem it's to have a form that surpasses the god stage, because sometimes it makes you wonder what's the point of super saiyan blue when any other character without god ki at all or the preparation of Goku is able to defeat him, there's a point where Goku has become so powerful and so trained that you can't make a plot that makes sense without seeing it as a giant convenience, the effort of Goku at training and fighting is being ridiculized all along the serie over and over again, with multiple characters becoming powerful with the dragon ball, Gohan, Piccolo and Frieza obtaining new forms from nothing and surpassing SSB easily, etc...
What's all this plot with the super saiyan gods and the ritual and the training when Vegeta is unable to win even using ultra-ego? What's the point of DB and the transformations at this point? It seems like all villains now are just Frieza related, androids, or Majin Bu 2.0 (Moro for example) they can't break the formula and make something good and new.

Nah, I hated Saiyan God form and Super Saiyan Blue form. They were both lazy designs. For Saiyan God, they just used their base forms and changed their hair, eyes and aurora red. The same is applied to SSB, except in SSJ form. It is very pathetic and lazy.
I would rather have SSJ4 form. At least that was an actual transformation. It had different abilities and the form looked great.
And now the same thing is happening to ultra instinct, they’re throwing it aside the end-all be-all form.

The only thing I will say is that I enjoyed seeing the potential of Broly's strength, although its still evidence to your point. I feel the main issue is the struggle with making actual tension because these are high universe - low multiverse level characters that would eviscerate any character around low-mid universe level and so they power scale the other characters can be “stronger” than the main characters but never do anything with it

I feel like SSB should've been introduced in the Goku Black arc. Imagine Goku Black turning into super saiyan god only to flex on Goku and Vegeta by turning blue. It would make sense since Zamasu's a deity that has mastery over god ki and adding transformation on top of that is part of his saiyan DNA, whereas Goku and Vegeta are still learning to control their god ki. Then Vegito comes in, turn blue and says something like "thanks for showing me this little trick"
To be honest, all the antagonists in Super should have been God tier like Zamasu to make sense of SSB or that SSB was needed for that character class only.
What confuses me most about super saiyan blue is that the hair isn’t blue half the time. It’s like a tealy blue green colour.
5:20 Nah, that's not bad at all. That's brilliant. Vegeta is using Blue as a Kaioken because nobody ever taught him Kaioken and he learned from losses to Goku how OP that trick is. That's a much better usage of Blue. Vegeta hacking together his own Kaioken replacement to use Goku's trick of massive power boosts right before landing an attack (like the 20x Kamehameha) is awesome writing. It's so Vegeta to not compromise his pride even to make a tactic more effective, and it's also so Vegeta to brute-force a tactic into working. That's like how he became a Super Saiyan in the first place.
Ssg imo has always been Better than blue for one main reason they could regenerate organs and serious damage and could’ve exploited Zenkais

I’m so glad he addressed the broly movie. Ssg being disrespected by a saiyan who can’t even go super saiyan yet. Couldn’t have said it better. No way was Broly supposed to be able to go toe to toe with a god LET ALONE fucking tossing one around like he did goku. I don’t give a fuck because it was stated he had a higher battle power than even king vegeta as a baby. You don’t posses the skill, the power, nor battle experience to even hold a candle to Goku or Vegeta that entire movie was bullshit as beautiful as it was.

So my initial thoughts with Blue when I first saw all the press release info was firstly "what already?" but secondly the way they referred to Goku and Vegeta being in the "Saiyan beyond god" as their base form, the way I interpreted it, Super Saiyan Blue outright replaced normal Super Saiyan (as in Goku and Vegeta would outright be unable to use Super Saiyan anymore since they only have god ki and if they tried, they'd just get Blue).
In my opinion to try and fix the problems both forms had Resurrection F could have done with being delayed until after the Super anime started, and the Super anime picking up immediately after Battle of Gods.
Having a few arcs where Goku and Vegeta try to figure out Super Saiyan God (hell even show Vegeta working it out and being the first SSG in the anime) then spending some time with God as the main form dealing with some threats (DBZ seemed to open the series to the idea of space travel, then just as quickly abandons it to have mostly earth bound adventures with the Cell+Buu Sagas so perhaps have Goku and Vegeta going out into space?) you could even have the pair of Saiyans tracking down the origins of the Super Saiyan God Ritual and perhaps learning more about their races origins?
Towards the end of the Super arc you'd then have both of them trying to figure out if they can use God Ki with their regular Super Saiyan forms. Then you have Resurrection F come out, this time however, instead of having Goku and Vegeta suddenly pull the form out as soon as Freiza goes gold, have it revealed that Goku and Vegeta still haven't figured out how to trigger it. You could show in the anime as well as a few flashbacks in the movie that they've been trying to get it by being angry (the thing that's worked with every other Saiyan form) which is why they haven't got it yet. This allows Freiza to actually show off for a little while and dominate Goku.
You could then show Goku on the floor beaten, about to die as Freiza charges a death ball to throw at him taking out the planet, you could have him be enraged at his weakness, saddened that he can't save those he loves, then as he accepts all of this he's finally at peace with himself.
And this is when Blue comes out. This would make the Blue form the saviour of the earth, and whilst it does take cues from the Freiza Saga, the whole movie does so why should we care about that?
Goku would deflect the death ball and depending on how you want to tell it one of 2 things could happen;
1. Goku kills Freiza.
2. Goku is too weak and injured from the battle beforehand to finish the job, dropping out of Blue quickly after deflecting the ball, but Vegeta is smart enough to figure out how Goku went into Blue and does it himself, because as the people around him keep saying, Vegeta is a genius. Vegeta then finishes of Freiza and finally defeats the demons of his past.
The anime would then pick up from the end of Resurrection F and continue on as it did. The next arc could be Goku and Vegeta figuring out how Blue really works, since they've only just unlocked it and you could therefore excuse them not winning with it because they're still figuring it out, with maybe the end of that arc being both of them fighting an opponent in Blue and Whis saying something like "Oh my you've finally got it down" perhaps.
Past that however I'm not really too sure on what could be done, I know there's a lot of "Blue loses a lot" but you have to remember, Super Saiyan 1 technically only won 2 or 3 fights in the series before 17, 18 and Cell turn up and they need a new form beyond it. It's not about Blue winning a lot or losing a lot, it's about it having a period of time as a transformation that can do the job and having the need for a new form get discussed before it starts tipping into extreme loss territory and it becomes a laughing stock.
It might even have been a cool thing if we saw a return of the super saiyan grades translated into Blue. Since Super Saiyan 2 was bought on by extreme rage, Super Saiyan Blue 2 would be the exact opposite and we could see something like Goku and Vegeta trying to discover enlightenment and true tranquillity. Such an event could even be a better moment for Goku to remember his parents then it was in the manga since he'd be doing it as part of trying to understand truly who he is and accept every part of himself.

you got it right there, Sayan beyond god was cool, they retconed it to still sell the classic ssj image.
I think the first original SSJ God form should have been the strongest form a Saiyan should’ve ever been blessed to receive. It should have been the yardstick every transformation after it would be measured against; an apex form that no matter how hard you trained, no matter how many forms and abilities you unlocked, you would never be able to touch it without help from friends. Instead, in was relegated to being nothing more than one in a long line of arbitrary transformations to be one-upped by a new color of the week.
I just think transformations should follow stricter guidelines and rules beyond “he trained to be stronger and now there’s this form.”
SSJ God should have been the surprise form that Goku unlocked against Jiren.
More proof is shown that DBGT is the superior show than DBS.
Another is that the so called 'godly' forms are so pathetic that beings like Frieza (Gold now Black forms), Hit an assassin with time skip is able to overpower them both. Goku Black made them both look like novices that couldn't beat Cell.
Now its happening again with their Ultra forms UI (Ultra instinct) and UE (Ultra Ego). At this point just give me the SS4 forms and a good story plot to go with it and I am happy.
I say for ultra ego and ultra instinct, any new character show up, they want to make it stronger them them, and plus, vegeta can actually beat granola, he chose not too due his past, he could've solo him and Gas

I wish SSJ 4s design was used as the SSJ God form. They could've brought back the concept of the golden oozaru as the requirements to reach the form and made the saiyan battle crazy. That would bring the warrior aspect back and teh anger like SSJ had on Namek.

The progression for SSG and SSB should’ve been switched.
Make it so that SSG is just a tatse of divine power on par with Beerus. Stick with the OG legend that God power eventually fade away leading to Yamoshi’s loss. Therefore Goku also return to his base after BoG arc.
Then they could introduce Blue as a step in-between, as a mortal method to harness and utilize god ki. SSG being pure and godly and Blue being a mortal’s crude imitation trying to reach that level.
This would fix a lot of insane power escalation. SSG is already universal-level, that should be the cap for everyone else other than Zeno.
For example, an assassin like Hit shouldn’t be stronger than God level, but at least he could be stronger than a crude imitation of a God. Same goes for Frieza training
Why is Zamasu so strong? Because he was originally a Kai so his Rose form is more pure and closer to SSG than Goku’s Blue form

That is why i cant watch super. I honestly tried but i cant. The music is shit. The god forms are shit. It took Goku years to get to ssj 1... it took a mountain of training to ascend. Ssj2 . Was so integral to cell saga. The buildup to that form. Its weaknesses. It had power.. even ssj 3.. was majestic. It was a rare transformation.
Not even vegeta could do.. these things take time.

It wasnt Toriyama 's fault, that was his original plan, to use God and ssj 1 for the future, it's Toei and Bandai who orders new forms to sell merchandise, Toriyama only writes notes and The initial drafts for Broly and súper hero, Toei and Bandai order things like Gohan Beast, Orange piccoro, cell max etc.

I love Goku with his base form potential and having Super Saiyan God as a representation of that was so awesome and I wish he was using this form a whole lot more but I guess they were just wanting a new Super Saiyan for this generation and to sell more toys so they just came up with the form of Super Saiyan Blue which is pretty meh to be honest.

Resurrection F was pretty much a nostalgia movie. So i feel like SSB was only created to be another nostalgia piece, that would try and recreate that moment when Super Saiyan Goku fought Frieza.

The Line of Transformations seems like Exponentiation in Finance with the Upper Class combined with the Natural Transforming State of the Oozaru. Oozaru is the Physical Basis for why Transformations can even happen in Saiyans. It's why Krillin never got one because Humans don't have that shifting inherent in our Biology. Exponentiation applies because it takes the same amount of effort to make your second Billion as it did to make your second Million, and scaling down from that. Less effort for more result. The Rich get Richer. Similarly, the First Super Saiyan Transformation was the toughest, but the second one was shorter to gain. The 3rd and 4th were also cut by time and effort. If it comes to a head, a perfect state of Transformation will be a Singularity, with Continuous Evolution and no more Static States. The Singularity means that the time between Transformations is Zero. So, I would call that Super Saiyan Zero.

Not really. SSJ2 was used in the Buu saga more than SSJ3. Vegeta, Goku, Gohan and Gotenks used SSJ2. Still, it did not last long, just like SSJ3.
Also, he already stated this about SSJ and SJJ2 in the Buu Saga.

The thing is Dragon Ball now is basically a merch generator... Made merch for Battle of Gods and profited, then create a new shiny form to milk more merch with Ressurection F, then do the same with SSBK and so on and so on
Super Saiyan God would have been more popular if they kept it for longer instead of immediately creating Super Saiyan Blue in the next arc. It's like what's the point of a God form if you can't even use it to beat Frieza instead of stacking it on top of SSJ.

"Super Saiyan God" should have been the last Saiyan Transformation ever.
I do like the concept of blue but it was introduced too SOON. i think it would have been better if it actually had a buildup. Maybe have a couple of arcs after the battle of gods to showcase ssj god and give hints of super saiyan blue. And then during resurrection f goku would go ssj god but would get pummeled by frieza kinda like how freiza got pummeled by ssj goku. Have the roles recerse untill goku snaps and then showcase the epic transformation of going blue. Also i think blue should have been made a litteral last resort like the sideffects of using blue are so significant that it threatens the users body kinda like what they did with the kaioken. This would have made blue way more unique. Also i think blue should also havr a different fighting style compared to god. While god utilizes of techniques and the opponents behaviour blue would been a raw domination. Making it a more brute form and making it a form which defeats its opponent my raw strength alone kinda like broly lssj. As god and blue don't stack that well this would have been the perfect explanation. Also i think UI is donr perfectly except they should have given some teasers of it like in desperate moments like in black acr where we would see intial hints of it not a transformation. Then they could have made the spirit bomb a catalyst to its awakening.
I like that idea too. But the form should have some sayain ties attached to it like regrowing the tail again or some feature that was dominant In the sayains that happens when they achieve the next level of power. Just recoloring the hair to blue is just lazy and boring. Ssj4 is probably the most unique transformation we got in this last decade.
@@pavanraj4125 yeah ssj4 is unique but in grand scale of things it is basically a new super saiyan. The aura looks like a super saiyan and it didnt got any unique techniques like god bind with god or doging without thinking in ultra instinct. It did got x10 kamehameha but really its just a red kamehameha. I know goku has a techqiue where a move will never work on him twice or that he can resist super hot temperatures but thats more like a skill than a techqiue. It would have been cool to see a techqiue kf ssj4 which would completely differ it from the other forms.
Also i will agree ssj4 has the best design but i srill think ultra instinct omen probably had the most hype factor to it. And it made goku look and feel like a menace.
I just treat DBS power up scaling just like in the games. Where your base gets an unnoticeable increase in damage when you transform.
Toriyana made DBS Transformations no more than just mere skins that only change the looks. Lol
It’s sad people hate on Super Saiyan 4, the form only has two losses Super 17 & Omega Shenron. On top of that has all of the so called “godly abilities” except hakai which was introduced via Beerus…

Blue is pretty boring in terms of design but god really gives off a sense of power. Maybe later in the series the god form could let goku use a more muscly body as he began to master it.
Hell, maybe they could make some kinda of ssgss form as a temporary thing but i don’t think it should be blue.
DBS is the absolute worst of the DB series. It’s got atrocious writing, and it’s powered by greed to sell toys. It’s soulless and devoid of consequences.
The Saiyan God transformation has so much potential, and God Ki in general.
People could've been learning new, and unique techniques, techniques like Spirit Gathering (random idea), or just using God Ki without transforming, perhaps using the 'God Bind' without transforming into SJG.
And doing an episode based on finding other, more effective ways to properly and more effectively congregate God Ki incase, the source in the body runs thin.
Sometimes hinting a new transformation as foreshadowing.
The transformation could've been one of those 'used at the perfect moment' transformations to strong opponents, like SSJ3 was, but not exactly like SSJ3.

But then again, they have to defeat Beerus at one point for the storytelling...
Super Saiyan 4 is still the peak form in all of Dragon Ball. God Ki feels like a complete waste of time
I never liked the way Goku got God ki either. It just doesn't feel like Dragonball. Where as SSJ4 was the perfect call-back and culmination of the forms, back into the Oozaru to merge it into one, SSJG was achieved with just a friendship circle. Are we really supposed to believe thats how Beeus got his? And they know it was kind of lame, because they didn't show Vegeta even doing it. I really wish they didn't do it that way, but most of the forms in Super other than UI are unearned or just don't feel like Z's or even GT's more creative and lore nodding way of doing things.
I just wouldn’t have had any new form in battle of gods or resurrection F. I would have just made the god ritual a really big power up and made it so he can’t use any previous super Saiyan form (the new base form would be stronger than ss3 anyway).
I would have Vegeta and Gohan gain the power up in resurrection F.
Goku and Vegeta would then get their next forms in the tournament of power (probably SS blue instead of Ultra instinct) but in this version SS red doesn’t exist, they can’t use any of their old forms, blue would be as strong as ultra instinct (and have alot more build up). Imagine how much tension would be in Super if Goku and Vegeta only had their (now extremely strong) god forms. In the Black arc and universe 6 arc they would only have their ‘Godly’ base forms so their would be alot more tension.
Goku be like: super sayian 1,405 kaioken x 400
At that point, the Kaioken Technique would be the only thing left of Goku's Body. It would be the Red Fire looping back and trying in vain to damage itself. That seems very much like HaKai.
I've just never been a fan of the God stuff. It goes against the saiyan nature. I would be okay with the tranquility of the transformations if it were used to propel Goku and Vegeta the way the were portrayed in the EoZ and GT. They were so much more matured and didn't rely on transformations as much. Base Goku was a force to be reckoned with and when he transformed it just further proves his mastery. Goku with the blue Gi acted as a master, but Super Goku feels like he's regressed. Plus the God forms don't go with saiyan nature, they are warriors, monkeys. Their primal nature and lust for battle comes out with the natural saiyain evolutions, not really shown in God forms. Thats why SSJ4 will always be Goku's best form.
GT was neat because it starts with there being a consequence for abusing the dragon balls. DB Super never has any feeling of challenge or consequence, I mean, especially with Whis around rewinding time besides the dragon balls thenselves. Super is gratuituous with transformations and careless with the writing, i fully agree with Saiyan Scholar. It just seems so fully intentional with the bad writing though that it still bothers me, but like, DB and Z had tons of filler so in a way its always been on brand to deliberately waste the audiences time and betray your expectations.
These were all unplanned power levels with character growth driven purely for plot convenience. DBZ till the end of the Freiza saga remains the best even after all these years because the SS was earned & well portrayed.
Dragon Ball should've ended with DBZ. Goku's SSJ3 is still his most powerful form in my eyes. All this super saiyan god sheet is fanfic
