And? What makes you think they knew any better as well? And plenty of them their parents were also a problem as well, financial literacy is rarely learned in regular public school curriculum I remember my mother telling me they learned to balance checkbooks at whatnot which was great for the time us however? We had ZERO I mean ZERO classes about about actually managing finances, we didn't learn about taxes, the different types of taxes, tax brackets(there's people who actually think millionaires/billionaires get refunds) they don't understand it that's why when those poor people win the lottery they go broke quickly most of them are parents! Few of them have admitted they didn't know their bracket changed and ended up owing the IRS. Those are the type who will hire accountants who then take advantage they believe they did the right thing bu hiring them and let's be clear there shouldn't be anything wrong with someone who doesn't have the right knowledge about finances to hire a professional we always call the person dumb or whatever but that shouldn't be the case the crooked accountants are CRIMINALS and are in the wrong. When someone hires a plumber or construction worker because they don't know what they're doing and the worker screws them over no one blames the person for hiring them, but it's something about a rich person losing money because of a crooked accountant that makes people blame the person instead of the crooked, criminal, accountant.

All he had to do was handle his own money while not running inside of random chicks and getting them pregnant. I have a couple of relatives that made it pro in a certain sport, and they never hired someone else to manage and to look over THEIR own money. Professional athletes are peer pressured by their teammates and coworkers to hire people like that as if it's a must. It's as if they start making millions and get scared to watch and handle their own money. I've heard way more than just a couple of bad stories personally from people that I've grown up with who decided to hire someone to watch, manage, and invest their money route to even ever consider doing it. Your giving a stranger full control over millions just because people around you feel like it's the best route to go, nah im good. I trust myself way more than that, because even if I blow a certain amount of my own money, it surely won't be all of it and nowhere close to it. And even if i did decide to blow a few million on myself, I would atleast have cars, houses and real estate property and jewelry to show for it after the fact. It surely wouldn't be me in a position like this talking about some guy that I hired spent up all of my money or made some bad investments on his watch to where my bread dissapeared without me knowing until after the fact. I know people who have millions who haven't hired accountants or people to watch or handle their money and they're ok till this day without any problems of losing their money. The question that y'all need to ask yourselves is why do the industry and entertainment business pressure these youngsters into thinking that they need to hire someone to watch and handle their money, yea to eventually take their money over a long period of time. So why would I run the risk of doing that after hearing countless professional athletes and rappers get bamboozled by going this route. I personally know a few athletes and rappers who have hired people to work for them like this, and their waaaaay better than me, because I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing some one else has control over my money and anything can go wrong at any time that has nothing to do with me. Common sense isn't so common anymore i guess. Once you have millions, you become the lick/target by the people around you, so it's best if you trust no one once you've earned a certain amount of money.

Read an article about a week ago that was describing him asking a judge to reduce the size of the payments he was required to make on a loan he had with a loan company from Las Vegas.
And the article only describe it as him taking out the loan. And also only describe the interest rate as if he took the loan at that high of a rate (loan shark level interest rate).
Now that I hear him describe how it went down, starts to make sense. Now that the bad journalism has been removed.
With all that, he is another classic case of how hard it is for the mindset to not change along with the finances and lifestyle. The other interview segment where he talked about the home invasion, he mentioned having so much jewelry, the big house, but he's still getting bootleg versions of movies.
Combine that with hiring somebody to be a personal driver who had a list of felony convictions, that's like people who say somebody they know may be selling drugs or doing other illegal things, but they're still a good dude.
When you have a drastic change in life like athletes have, you have to immediately change what type of people you're going to be around. That "still a good dude" before the contract is signed will easily turn into a nightmare.
HIs ex-wife that's going after his pension, he knew since 3rd grade.

But why have a person who is managing your money? In my observation when most people have up to a thousand to their name, they are consistently checking their bank seeing what's going in and out. They do it at 10k. So if you get to millions why not do the same thing? I've seen so many stories where athletes give total access to some "professional" and they burn them. Happened to T.O., Clinton Portis and many more. If you got a job making 60k you wouldn't let the guy from your neighborhood whose always talking business manage your bank account. So why these guys?

He’s had a lot of people take advantage of him, true. However, one thing I’ve yet to hear him admit is “it’s my fault”. Everything is finger pointing. From the ex wife (he cheated on), the trainer that got him robbed (he picked), the driver that sued him (that he picked even though people told him Not to hire him), to now the accountant that stole from him (that he gave POA rights to). Not saying he’s a bad guy we all make mistakes but damn man show some kind of accountability.

The cost and time to manage being a public figure, handling regular day to day stuff, plus staying on top of your job is difficult. Knowing regulations and laws governing your business and finances is a lot that’s why they often hire others to handle it for them. Unfortunately most don’t follow up or double check on what’s going on but it’s understandable. They need to start putting some of these folks in jail for cheating people.
