I hope to see more of this type racing on here. I know one of the videos you have has a bad place in it but the one with the Steve Ellis/Billy Arnold wreck would be a good one to upload as would some of the 3 hour races. I made many trips up from S Indiana to watch the outlaws in this era. Great videos!

Fun facts….Ronnie Johnsons dad, Joe Lee Johnson won the 1st ever World 600. Ronnie is a member of the Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame after winning just about every big race there is in that regard. Mickey Flora was a veteran of USAC stock car division. And then theres the absolute LEGEND of LARRY MOORE, one of the best to ever do it. MOORE ran usac, arca VERY competitively. He won EVERYTHING there was to win on dirt in Late Models including multiple ELDORA wins and is a member of Late Model Dirt hof.

Bobby Allison in his day was Tony Stewart before Smoke was even born. BA competed a lot in the old USAC Stock Car Series, and even won an ARTGO Stock Car race at Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne in a race named after him (Bobby Allison Night).

hahaha, hahaha, Tony Stewart? Bobby was very top shelf. Tony is a very good racer, no disrespect, but Bobby Allison is one of the top racers ever. The last race my dad and I watched together was 1979 or 80 Daytona 500, and he was impressed with Earnhardts driving talent ,and made the comment about Earnhardt, he said ' that's your next Bobby Allison right there ' ,,my dad was a big time Bobby Allison fan. And I was a big time dad fan. But that was the best comment/complement ol Dale could have spoken about him. Jr. Johnson said if Bobby and himself hadn't parted ways, ol Bobby have probably a dozen or more cup championships 🏁.

interesting to see Mr.Allison and Mr. Johnson running CJ RAYBURN Camaros that were built to run at dirt tracks. Rayburn was the PREMIER builder of such machines and a pretty good hotshoe himself.
