Thank you for the great video! Have you had any trouble with the fridge maintaining temperature in the back your truck with the Tunnel cover on? I’m thinking about doing the same but I’m worried about summertime temperatures in Arkansas.
@TheWilsonallison, thank you! I have not had any trouble with the fridge running under the truck bed cover in the summer time. In fact I think having it covered and out of direct sunlight prevents the fridge from running overtime and draining my auxiliary battery. It also helps to have the provided insulated cover on it for additional protection. Also keeping the fridge as full as you can with pre-chilled items helps a lot. Don't put a lot of plastic bagged items in there it prevents the cool air from circulating and keeping everything cold. It also helps that I have 100watt solar panel on the truck to keep our auxiliary battery topped off during the day when the truck is not running. The Danfoss compressor and 5 year warranty is hard to beat with the ICECO refrigerators.
@USMC DOC, there is a slide with 3 settings on the back side where the plug connects. You can set it to stage 1,2 or 3 to allow the fridge to run your battery down to or below 12 Volts. This way the fridge will kick off when you want it to and not run your battery completely flat.
@@usmcdoc2512 , if you are running off an auxiliary battery I set mine at the low setting which will turn off at 9.6 volts. Medium is 10.1 and High is 11.1. If your using a starter battery or running other things off of it I would set it to High. It also helps to have a solar panel to charge your auxiliary battery when the vehicle is not running.
@@jacobsupgrades that is awesome advice. Thank you very much!!! I bought a iceco jp40 fridge and it's plugged into my cig lighter. Takes about 20 hrs before it runs the battery to low to start. It was set on low. Now I know to flip it to high. Thank you sir.
@@usmcdoc2512 no problem! It also helps to pre chill the cooler fully loaded on AC power in the house ahead of time before transferring to your vehicle.
@Yeido Yeo, my truck bed has a spray in liner and rubber mat between the slide and aluminum bed and is mounted with 1 1/2" stainless steel self tapping screws. It's held up very well with the exception of rust forming on the slide. My Retrax MX cover lets quite a bit of water in during rainstorms and car washes. The bed appears plenty strong enough to mount the side and fridge to and we've driven down lots of washboard roads with it loaded full of drinks and no failure. My only suggestion is to screw through the raised corrugations of the bed, measure twice and check the underside to make sure your screws won't hit anything on the underside. If your in sandy environments it can make the slide difficult to operate but if you remove the fridge and spray it out well it will work good as new.
@Nick Bondi, are you referring to the control panel I have the fridge plugged into? I have a video on building this, link below. I'm working on a video to review my dual battery setup. In short I'm running a Redarc BCDC1225D with two group 31 AGMs in the bed. I also have a 100w solar panel on the rack for when the trucks not running. This runs our fridge 24/7 and is enough power to support mobile work out of the truck too. ruclips.net/video/VQYTtaklYFo/видео.html
Another lil dude with a great vid!
@straightpride451 Thank you!
That was one of the best real use reviews I’ve seen, I was so impressed that I Subbed and ordered one, thanks Jacob
@Joey Segreti, thank you for the support! I'm glad I could help out.

@@Dubyatrader , no problem! Glad I could help.
I’ve had my JP50 for 4 years, using daily and works like a champ! I highly recommend these fridges 👍
@@Zkpe02 they are tough refrigerators, hard to beat for the price.
What's the 3 stage battery protection mode??

how is that slide holding up. i have 2018 raptor but afraid to mount directly to the bed be cause i heard aluminum beds are not very thick...

What was the unit you had on the inside of the bed next to your fridge?
