I'm actually surprised no one recommended it to him because Netflix released a report on the most watched anime of 2024 on their platform and Delicious in Dungeon was #1.
Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi is a must watch. People don't recommend it much because they all didn't give it a chance because they thought it was boring and doesn't have high stakes due to the first few episodes. For people that loves D&D that watched this, they will immediately love Delicious in Dungeon(haha, see, Delicious in Dungeon, D&D). It's quite fitting. Please give it a chance and you will see how great it is. And it has 24 episodes and season 2 also have been confirmed! So there's more adventure and world-building to come for this anime.
Gigguk in his recent livestream said that if he had included apothecary diaries and frieren then the list would have been 1: lock back 2: Frieren 3: Apothecary diaries
Damn Gigguk is filling my Plan to Watch list again 😢 He's so good at doing anime presentations, I don't need trailers anymore. I want Gigguk videos instead. Guys, we need to make "Orb" happen on this channel! 🌟
For Gigguk's best of the year videos, you can usually be rest assured that he will not spoil the show in any way that will impact the enjoyment of the show. He just lets you know what sort of emotions you can expect to get from the anime and why it deserves to be seen.
My Top 10 Anime of 2024 1. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth 2. Yatagarasu: The Raven Does not Choose its Master 3. Monogatari: Off & Monster Season 4. Natsume's Book of Friends 7 5. Sound! Euphonium 3 6. Spice & Wolf 7. Dungeon Meshi 8. Dandadan 9. Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction 10. Re:Zero Season 3/Oshi no Ko 2 Frieren and Apothecary Diaries aired in 2023 so they get honourable mentions If we include movies, Mononoke: Karakasa would be at 4. Still gotta watch Look Back
NO ONE has recomented Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon yet?! That's a crime! Let me make up for it: I recoment it! Verry higly! The shows writing is amazing, filled with so much detail and creativity! You should ABSOLUTELY give it a shot!
Girls Band Cry, Makeine, Dangers and Dungeon Meishi were all so amazing. My top shows of the year are definitely them, Frieren, Apothecary, Monogatari Off & Monster, Gushing, OnK and Re:Zero. Personally, I don't think Dandadan is even near the same level as those, as good as it was.
Gigguk said that these are the shows that he's watched and am most passionate about, so there are others out there that are worth the recommendation. Here are my recommendations from last year: Bleach TYBW, Shangri-la Frontier, and Monogatari. Hopefully people can share some of their own favourites as well.
Yes, definitly watch Delicious in Dungeon! I read the manga i dont know how many times, because it is so good. Its funny, it is serious, the characters are great and beautiful, the ideas for the monsters and how they life is Just Like Gigguk said, Like a nature documentary. Especially in the Manga where at the end they often tell more Details about the monsters, Like how a cockatrice skeleton and Organs Looks like. The anime did a wonderful job adapting the manga❤
The thing about delicious in dungeon it's that hits that little spot if you ever played dnd. It's a really fcking good anime but when you're into dnd damn it scratches THE SPOT 😂 and I think you never mentioned about being that into dnd stuff so that's probably why ppl just was recommending Frieren
Delicious in a Dungeon became a sleeper hit, because everybody thought it was a Cooking anime (me included), but when the show flips it's table you just keep wondering why you didn't watch it earlier. Really outstanding anime.
If you haven't seen Dungeon Meshi(Delicious in Dungeon) yet, I'll tell you right now. Dungeon Meshi is my personal number 1 anime of the year. It's probably one of the most original fantasy that was made since the Discworld series and has definitely revitalized the genre with its new perspective. YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT. It has so much heart, absolutely brilliant character writing and absolutely astonishingly detailed world building. Season 1 is a master class in story telling. It's an easy 9 out of 10 on average. Once season 2 comes and the show is complete, the series is gonna catapult into an easy 12 out of 10. It's BRILLIANT. It's genuinely BRILLIANT. While I loved Frieren, Dungeon Meshi has singlehandedly revitalized my love for the fantasy genre. It's unreal how good this show and manga was. Dungeon Meshi is classic pure fantasy in its finest and it wears its genre so unashamedly. It's BEAUTIFUL. Speaking of which, Dungeon Meshi also won the Best Graphic Novel award last year for the Harvey awards, which is basically oscars for comic books. Dungeon Meshi is a MUST watch
Haven't seen the Gigguk vid till I saw your reaction to it and when 'Look Back' came up, I teared up the same time you did, and I haven't seen it yet. The opening line Gigguk had used to introduce the #1 spot (40:30), hit me like a truck because I'm an amateur artist, like many others, and having that question "Why do you do it" is what makes sure whatever I have planned, never disappears.
Dead Dead Demon's main characters are voiced by Lilas Ikuta of YOASOBI and Ano :D It is a great watch, highly recommend! It's the first ever anime adaptation of Inio Asano's work. He made "Oyasumi Punpun", which is considered to be the best manga by many!
The reason Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon doesn't get recommended much is because it was easily the biggest anime of last year (or at least Top 3), so everyone just expects you to already know about it. 😅
I'm here to recommend Delicious in Dungeon and Dangers in my Heart. Delicious was by far the highlight of the year for me and that says a lot. I rate it higher than Frieren personally. An amazing anime. Highly recommend it! And Dangers is an experience you'll love ❤️
The Dangers in My Heart S2 made history when it became the first anime to sweep an entire season of weekly anime rankings from start to finish in both Anime Corner and Anime Trending. So it's definitely a must watch. But remember this golden rule as you watch this: DO NOT let the first few episodes fool you, let it cook.
Dangers of my heart and Makeine are top tier romcoms. Im currently watcing Delicious in Dungeon and Orb first cour and cant wait to see the greatness unfold.
I haven't watched "Look Back" yet, but from that summary and your reaction here, it seems like it was to you, what "Jellyfish Can't Swim In The Night" was for me in 2024. A show that is hard to recoment for me, becouse it was clearly made from artist/creatives, for artists/creatives. But I'd like to recoment it to you non the less.
Lemme just say I thought Frieren was an amazing fantasy show until I watched Delicious in Dungeon. The attention to detail is truly unmatched. The monsters and the ecosystem are so well crafted.
4:08 it's the final page of Bleach manga aka Bleach manga end cover art, and don't worry this will be adapted into anime this year aka the final season which is releasing this year. Hence the official end of Bleach(or is it? iykyk)
My top 5 anime of 2024: 1. The Dangers in My Heart Season 2 2. Hibike! Euphonium Season 3 3. One Piece Fan Letter 4. Dan Da Dan 5. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Freedom The Dangers in My Heart was a show I saw was getting very high ratings online. Partway through the year I started to get really into romance anime. I tried out a few, finished some that I liked. They were good, including shows like Kaguya-sama, Wotakoi, My Dress-Up Darling.. but The Dangers in My Heart just blew them all away. Gigguk is spot on in his description. Dan Da Dan doesn't really need further praise or explanation. It's just so good. Most of the other things in my list are sequels that come from my love of those series. Gundam SEED: Freedom was a movie I had been waiting for since they originally talked about it 20 years ago. It was full of fan service (in more than one meaning), and it was so good for me personally. Speaking of fan service, One Piece Fan Letter was a masterclass in making a non-canon story. It is a project for One Piece fans, about One Piece fans. As a One Piece superfan, I am surprised it didn't get higher on my list.. Hibike! Euphonium Season 3.. This is the third season and altogether 8th animated project for the Hibike! Euphonium series counting the movies. It was originally announced in July 2018, just days before the horrific arsonist attack that occurred. We waited 5 years for this season, the conclusion to the story. It did not disappoint, in fact it was absolutely an example of Kyoto Animation's excellence. Sure, there are nitpicks that could be made.. but overall this was going to be my anime of the year if Dangers hadn't stolen my heart. 2024 might have been the best year for anime for me personally in the last decade. There were so many things that were seemingly tailored for me specifically, but then Dangers just came out of nowhere for me and took over. I cannot recommend it enough.
Too Many Losing Heroines was a recent favorite. The characters are very well written and have good communication(I hate the miscommunication trope) and it's really funny as well. Definitely needs to be on the to-be-watched list along with: Dangers in My Heart, Orb and Delicious in Dungeon. I don't watch a lot of romances but both Too Many Losing Heroines and Dangers in My Heart are amazing. Delicious in Dungeon is so good, extremely in-depth world building, great characters and humor and gets pretty dark. People probably wrote it off as just a cooking it anime, it is not just that at all.
DEDEDE is a show I reccomended after Vinland saga. It’s criminally underwatched due to it releasing mid season. Basically nobody noticed it, but it’s arguibly one of the BEST shows of this year. But I won’t lie it’ll never get reccomended in a poll. Or get a lot of views in a reaction. I’d highly reccomend just watching it though. You’d honestly love it
Look Back came out quite soon after I lost one of my best friends and it did help a lot after making me feel absolutely bloody awful so it's an anime I'll always have a strong connection with.
Mushoku Tensei left a lot not adapted which is why it felt rushed, there were a lot that would put things in perspective. And it is true that Demon Slayer training arc was meant as the last chance for the audience to take a breath. We came from various arcs of hype foghts and we were about to dive on the final arc and the training arc was needed to explain why some characters are stronger and prepare for the heartbreak.
I completely lost it at the top 1. I haven't watched the movie, but his speech alone was enough. This might be a bit long. I work in the game industry, a junior at it, but I had this idea in my mind, about a story that I want to give life to, and I had it for almost a decade. With only basic skills at the start I had to study a lot, and I currently know more than than enough of almost all processes of creating a game, whether be coding, rigging, modeling, animating, writing, etc. Making a living out of it. I can't stop thinking about the story, in the shower, in my way to my second job, before sleeping, discussing with friends. I had setbacks, but I plan to see it through, I'm devoted to it. Already made huge progress and can't wait to keep going. I really need to watch that movie.
Maybe it is time to have an anime slot that you get to decide what to watch. Maybe the youtube channel is decided by the people but the twitch channel does not need to be ;P . I cannot wait for the time you get to watch dungeon meshi and dangers in my heart. And maybe Goblin slayer.
You should definitely react to previous years too. Gigguk does miss out on some gems because he's human but he does a pretty good overview of anime for the year
I have a comment in one of your videos recommending Dungeon Meshi (fine I’ll also call it ‘Delicious in Dungeon’ lol) which you literally hearted and commented on!! You have to watch it…It’s almost pure exploration and worldbuilding that dare I say even more than Made in Abyss. :)
My top 3 of this year would be: 1 and 2: Look Back and Frieren, ex aequo. I can't say one is better than the other, they're both jaw-droppingly good 3. Dandadan. It made me feel things I haven't felt since watching JoJo
You should 100% watch Dungeon Meshi, I think it's one of my top anime in general (or at LEAST top 5 manga, the anime would be up there if it was finished like the manga tho it's just too early to beat out my favourites lol)
Dont see any of that here, so heres me: Yes, watch Makeine! Its genuinely one of the best high school anime, period. Some scenes at the start are a bit uncomfy but apart from that its soooo worth
I also want to suggest to give Dungeon Meshi a try! It was my favourit anime of the year, I've read the entire manga and can't wait for season 2! Went into it without expecting very much, just a quirky funny fantasy cooking show, but from episode 1 on I fell in love with the characters and the show really makes sure you get to like and understand them by the end. Later on the stakes that weren't low to begin with really rise and DunMeshi bares it's fangs and demonstrate that underneath all the humor, the colours and jokes there is darkness lurking. On top of that the character designs are among the best I've seen, every person is distinct in desgin and personality, and the world building is just top-notch! Last but not least, animation and soundtrack are really well done!
Oh trust me I've said it a few times Girls Band may not only be my anime of the year but easily made it into my top 5 of all time, it resonated with me so much
I watched look back with you in stream it was my first anime movie and I loved the movie and loved you reaction in stream it felt like i m watching the movie with friends ❤❤
20:13 You would love 100 Girlfriends who really really really really really loves you. The main character knows the girls loves him, he's not oblivious at all
Bro many of us recommended Delicious in Dungeon to you when it was airing and for a while after it finished but it fell on deaf ears. Honestly though you need to watch it as it's so damn good
We gotta get him on romance anime this year. My personal favorites and the ones I recommend the most are in order: Your Lie in April Horimiya The Dangers in my Heart The Quintessential Quintuplets Tonikawa
Awesome news, ONE OK ROCK just dropped a new song, Puppets can't control you. It'll blow you away. You should really check it out even though there isn't a m/v. I doubt there will be one since it's so close to the albums release. Japanese version hits harder than international version. ruclips.net/video/OVCDC7ukLoM/видео.htmlsi=2atagbRR_cXiR2Gw
I feel you bro... I am scared to watch 'look back' because the last anime movie i watched broke me. 'Silent voice' touched my soul, and ever since that day. I stopped watching sad anime movies
Akira Toriyama and his work, Dragon Ball, inspired a lot of other manga artists. Without him, I don't know how different anime would be today. For his specific thought for some anime like Mushoku Tensei, he talks about it at length on his live streams which you could find clips of. The armpit thing in Frieren is real. I haven't watched the show but I've come across the memes and comments from people thirsting over that green-haired girl XD. I haven't watched Look Back but I could feel the sadness from listening to Gigguk and you. Not sure if i would want or could watch it though knowing it might make me cry lol. I hope you watch his other "in a nutshell" (used to be called "[season] anime [year] abridged") and "Best of Anime [year]" (used to be "Anime in [year]" and were posted in two parts) videos but start from the oldest. You're watching a lot of ongoing anime, it seems and you'd be skipping parts of these videos cause of that. Maybe it'd be better to watch older videos of his since they're less likely to have something you're currently watching as most anime featured there are sadly not mainstream (or at least, not anymore) enough to be recommended to you. Also, try watching some Sydsnap videos as well. She's Gigguk's wife and she makes videos about more... adult stuff (Hentai. She talks about hentai lol).
can you react to the video gigguk Rise and Fall Mecha anime? I think that the anime Braven might be the anime that brought mecha starting to get interesting again.
The Dangers in My Heart / BokuYaba is my favorite anime this year. I have watched and read a lot of romance series throughout the years after switching from shonen and fantasy series, and BokuYaba is my favorite romance of all time.
I know its kinda late or maybe you already reaction this but if you have some time, I think you should watch a movie named "Maquia : when the promised flower blooms" i think you will love that movie ❤🎉
Also, as a hardcore fan, let me make an unbiased request to please please please please please please please please please please please please watch The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You

@ Fair, tho I'd still argue that it is not known remotely as well as it should be :D
I'm actually surprised no one recommended it to him because Netflix released a report on the most watched anime of 2024 on their platform and Delicious in Dungeon was #1.
Attack on Titan type of writing. Amazing plot, foreshadowing, characters, wordlbuilding and story
Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi is a must watch. People don't recommend it much because they all didn't give it a chance because they thought it was boring and doesn't have high stakes due to the first few episodes.

@notbadrule9883 nah... it was talked about for quite a while. I think it was overshadowed by the likes of Solo leveling...
yeah, it was amazing but it was talked about a lot for a short while. One that didnt get that was Undead Unluck.
@@Vesp3r1987yeah especially it also got overshadowed by frieren
Gigguk in his recent livestream said that if he had included apothecary diaries and frieren then the list would have been

It's a shame he didn't watch Yatagarasu cause it's similar to Apothecary Diaries and just as good
Nice 🫡
Look Back makes me wish so hard for an adaptation of Goodbye, Eri by the same creator
👀
also Fire Punch. with how much positive reviews Look Back got, im positive Goodbye Eri will get an adaptation. Tatsuki Fujimoto doesnt miss
Watched Look Back in theatres and it was the first time in a long time that the audience clapped and cheered at the end of a movie
If any movie deserves it! ❤

Gigguk does miss out on some gems because he's human but he does a pretty good overview of anime for the year
19:10 Makeine is Peak romcom
it fully subverts the genre. its great.
honestly in my top 3 new anime of the year
Dangers in my heart have two seasons out at the moment
You have to watch Orb its great
"No one has recommended Delicious in Dungeon to me". I actually have lol. The comment got 20000000 likes btw (everyone is telling you to watch it) :D
Highly recommend Dangers in my Heart and Girls Band Cry bro.
Highly recommend Delicious in Dungeon
My top 3 of this year would be:
1 and 2: Look Back and Frieren, ex aequo. I can't say one is better than the other, they're both jaw-droppingly good
3. Dandadan. It made me feel things I haven't felt since watching JoJo
You should 100% watch Dungeon Meshi, I think it's one of my top anime in general (or at LEAST top 5 manga, the anime would be up there if it was finished like the manga tho it's just too early to beat out my favourites lol)
bro... i was waiting for opportunity to recommend this video 😅
Yatagarasu deserved as spot up there as well. Very sad it didn't got picked up.
If you've ever been on the Frieren subreddit you'd know. People were absolutely obsessed with Ubel's pits. What a strange time.
Orb and Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon are absulote gems man, you need to check them out, you will not regret it.
Let's watch Makeine! Its one of my fav show of the year
Oh trust me I've said it a few times Girls Band may not only be my anime of the year but easily made it into my top 5 of all time, it resonated with me so much
I watched look back with you in stream it was my first anime movie and I loved the movie and loved you reaction in stream it felt like i m watching the movie with friends ❤❤
The only reason Delicious in Dungeon wasn't spoken more is because it aired at the same time as Frieren and they both have the fantasy theme.
Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi is great but GOT already had allot of shows on his plate so it wasnt really recommended much but it is great
I've been mostly waiting for season 2 to come out, since that way he can just do all of it.
The armpit was actually a large scale life changing point which alot of ppl talked about tbh
😂
What actually got me to watch Dungeon Meshi was just how different the art style was compared to everything else out there.
20:13 You would love 100 Girlfriends who really really really really really loves you. The main character knows the girls loves him, he's not oblivious at all
Bro many of us recommended Delicious in Dungeon to you when it was airing and for a while after it finished but it fell on deaf ears. Honestly though you need to watch it as it's so damn good
Gigguk using Groose’s Theme from LoZ Skyward Sword during the Mushoku Tensai segment was golden. Perfect music choice
delicious in dungeon is absolutely incredible, better than even frieren for me
We gotta get him on romance anime this year. My personal favorites and the ones I recommend the most are in order:
Your Lie in April
Horimiya
The Dangers in my Heart
The Quintessential Quintuplets
Tonikawa
I hope you check out some of the Winter 2025 anime openings! Especially the Momentary Lily one. Its right up your alley!
He'd hate it
@Yami69 seeing as he has expressed enjoyment of that type of music in the past, you're either new here or a troll.
Awesome news, ONE OK ROCK just dropped a new song, Puppets can't control you. It'll blow you away. You should really check it out even though there isn't a m/v. I doubt there will be one since it's so close to the albums release. Japanese version hits harder than international version.

Delicious in a dungeon is DELICIOUS!
Please check out the Brave Bang Bravern OP and ED 😂
I feel you bro... I am scared to watch 'look back' because the last anime movie i watched broke me. 'Silent voice' touched my soul, and ever since that day. I stopped watching sad anime movies
Delicious in Dungeon / Dungeon Meshi is great
Akira Toriyama and his work, Dragon Ball, inspired a lot of other manga artists.
Twitch gang, we need to make Luke watch Dangers in my heart and Delicious in Dungeon when danmachi's done😂
i didnt know dungeon meshi wasnt recommended a lot its basically the runner up in every popularity poll after frieren
Dangers in my Heart is amazing anime, my personal best of 2024.
can you react to the video gigguk Rise and Fall Mecha anime? I think that the anime Braven might be the anime that brought mecha starting to get interesting again.
Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction is absolutely a must watch. Captivating, brooding and extremely fun.
The Dangers in My Heart / BokuYaba is my favorite anime this year. I have watched and read a lot of romance series throughout the years after switching from shonen and fantasy series, and BokuYaba is my favorite romance of all time.
you SHOULD watch Delicious in Dungeon!
I know its kinda late or maybe you already reaction this but if you have some time, I think you should watch a movie named "Maquia : when the promised flower blooms" i think you will love that movie ❤🎉
Dungeon Meshi is PEAK!!!!!!
Bravern is such a fun show that unfortunately a lot of people slept on. Glad it made the list.
You HAVE to watch D&D, is so well writen and the animation is so good!!! You're gonna love all the main and side characters, my fav from 2024 💖
