From 5th to 12th March, Porto is celebrating camellias. But why is Porto the city of camellias? I went digging in the past to find the answer for you - I hope you like it! :)
What a nice video; with regard to the introduction date of camellias to Porto (Oporto) Portugal, it might have been earlier (16th century) than was stated in the video, according to a USDA research report- Plant Explorations Ornamentals in Italy, Southern France, Spain, Portugal, England, and Scotland By Frederick Gustav Meyer, 1959, p.64.
