I was just about to post the exact opposite. I’ve stopped watching these because of the commentary. I just want to see the highlights without all the video editing gimmickry and smart ass comments. Clearly works for others, though.
I was surprised how little was said about Toby Price in the highlights videos this year so far. He's always been one of the best contenders in his class in my opinion. I'm rooting for him!!!
The rally definitely rewards consistency. That's the thing about him and Howes, they can contend in 3rd, 4th, 5th place as long as they don't screw up.
Love the commentary! I don't think I have ever laughed out loud while watching Dakar highlights before. Now I am tuning in every night to catch the next video. Keep up the fantastic work and cheers from the USA!
It honestly wouldn't be the same without his commentary! Heck, it's genuinly a highlight of my day seeing these videos and catching his jokes after comming home from work!
DO NOT STOP. Your comments are the soil(sand dunes) of this. Doing great job. And thank You for links to see more action...but remember- it is Your commentary that brings the most to all of this.
Duuuuude don't read the haters comments. Your wit and humour are appreciated more than you know. I waited all year for this. Nobody else does it like ypu do.
Yes but Peterhansel won it 6 times in bike and 8 times in car, Nasser almost 5 times like Ari Vatanen... So it's also about experience and talent not only "things need to go right" and 'chance".
Dakar is just amazing, as a kid I remember sneaking out from my room at the dead of night to watch the highlights for the past days (they were aired at a weird time xD) And it still captivates me to the same degree... can't get enough, and the narrator's light hearted approach is welcome :)
It was back in 1988 that I came to know about Paris Dakkar. Sadly there was no TV coverage in India and internet was not born. There were only two auto magazine who published coverage in their monthly issue. Then we found a way to watch a year old coverage through video cassette. I will buy one cassette every year for watching previous year coverage. Back then Ari Vatenan, Shekhar Mehta were the champions. Stephane Peterhansel rode a Yamha then. It was a month long raid that made Timbak to famous.
They don’t ( just want to watch you struggle) its this information here that if you help the competitors they well get disqualified, only help they can get is from other competitors
Wow surprised there is no interview with Hank seeing that he is 2nd overall atm. This is an excellent opportunity to let the lesser know stars shine now the big boys are out of the race. His the next Dakar star coming out of South Africa for sure. SA is behind you buddy, keep on pushing!
You are the voice of Dakar as far as I’m concerned, it wouldn’t be the same with out you! Keep up the humour it’s great (and I’m sure all the other Dads would agree😂😂😂)
Great fan of Sainz, from my home country ,but, Nasser just pilots the Toyota, like a glove, knows the terrain like the palm of his hand, and def has a great luck.
if was 15 min or 20 min episodes would greatly improve as sometimes it feels very rushed to cover all the information. It is obviously very hard to make an episode a day with this level of production, but I wouldn't mind more images without the narrator especially onboards so we can hear the wonderful sound of the engines.
This Dakar is wild! Feels like a story by j r r martine where all you loved characters are killed off. Very sweet and sour not having the kamaz team I miss the action and thrills they provide but at the same time I love the variety of other trucks now that the top four are not locked up by kamaz.
"Some just want to watch you struggle" 😂😂😂 the guy had front row seats. Not even brother had front track view. He fully sat down next to them and soaked in all the information 😂😂😂
Wonder what would happen if the old pensioners gave up their drives to people actually physically capable of handling the race….give Austin Jones an e-tron or a hunter… than at least we could blame the cars not the 50 + year old bodies driving them….
3:47 almost no trees in this fragile ecosystem, but they still manage to hit them. This is all Mad Max: sponsored by Aramco, trying to destroy what's left of this planet. But some boys will have their moment of fun.
I honestly like his puny commentary and don’t really want to support it anymore than that as long as it’s in Saudi Arabia. The Dakar needs to go to Dakar or stop calling it that.

Keep the puns coming #poetic 💪
Another brilliant summary, light hearted and not too serious with rhymes and jokes, you have to laugh. Keep up the good work and thank you.

You really can’t beat Nasser in his backyard. He knows how to handle desert for sure. 😂

If they limited the amount of support the factory teams can receive, i'm sure there would be fewer breakdowns and more thought into each stage.
Yes, and there will be more competition overall.
Your commentary is a big part of what got me into subscribing to the Dakar channel and following highlights.
