Nice little fillets m88 probably one of the first actually filleting like a boss I’ve seen for a long time nice to know others know what there doing without mangling the meat 😂
We have a salmon run here every fall and we love to catch them with fishing poles they fight very hard. So we have salmon to eat year round. It is right up there with Ribeye steaks
Nice sharp knife. Ive honestly really struggled with keeping my fillet knives sharp like this. Sometimes I have kept only one or two salmon when I couldve taken more home becuase my knife only stays sharp for about 2 maybe three fish and then back to sharpening for hours lol
People just comment those cuts were smooth but the real comment is what knife is that? Ferber fillet knives are good I’m a gerber fan in general but they are keeping that knife sharp and I recognize it on this channel for years
I assumed cleaning bigger fish would be easier because there is more margin for error… I spent like 20 minutes trying to salvage the fillet of my PB rainbow trout because I totally messed it up 😂😂😂
Nice fillet man super fast but if you wanna get a little more and not waste it grab a spoon and scrape the spine in the fish and you get quite a bit of meat and if you got a couple fish it really adds up and you can make whatever with it very versatile cuz if I want a fish burger I'm sorry I'm never gonna cut up a nice fillet I'll always just pan fry
Not just a versatile & enjoyable eating fish BUT over 8X the omega 3 fatty acids content than barramundi, coral trout or garfish. A win/win situation; not just lovely eating but very nutritious.
If you take a spoon to the carcass and scrape the bones. You can remove the meat off the bones. It was the tip I just recently learned from watching the fishmongers over in Asia
Na it’s about having control of the blade, any one can cut with a sharp blade but not everyone can cut with a sharp blade and ride against the spine without messing up and leaving meat on there.
It would take me 30 min of work to get a cut half that good.
Sharp knife is the answer
I struggled trying to filet a bass

Its adequately sharp. If your knife cant do this, its dull
Can we take a second to acknowledge a true master?
Thank you

The most common reason I see people mangling the filet is their knife just isn’t sharp.
@@verticalsorh7124 ...and the base reason is they don't understand or care about the knife. My dad had that same basic leak in his game.

I've fileted around 200 salmon.
I've resorted to an electric knife. I can never slide down the spine like that so smoothly.
Well done
You make it look easy
I'll have some it looks great
Salmon are so easy to clean I'm jealous

Solid cuts man no waste of fish either. You can use the rest of the fish for stock. Good stuff man
That knife is sharp

I just did that! But out of Lake Michigan! 20lbers all day long!

Pretty meat!
Fucking scrumptious
Salmon the fabulous fish
My dad filles like this pretty crazy to see someone flay 8 fish in like 4 minutes
I'd still be gutting it 😂. I do a lil extra when I fillet. Made me feel like I'm doing too much. He kept it to a minimal
Making me hungry 😋
Wish i could cut that smooth. I get hung up, or my knife slips.
I remember when I bought a brand new knife😂
That look nice dude
We gotta get a video on how you guys sharpen your knives!

Wow cool but Is it possible to fillet it without all the bones in it? How could you call it a filled with all the bones in it?
This just simply isn’t possible… a video where the fish has been bled and gutted before filleting. I can’t believe what I’m seeing
