Historically correct video, for those knowing little about Chinese Jews. [Thus not a waste to watch] Only big mistake was to suggest the Kaifeng Torah Scrolls are still around and usable. Also intermarraige became common w/Chinese woman, as in many areas of the Jewish world there were but few Jewish girls available. It became less common to travel long distance the Silk Route west to Persia or Constantinople, where traders could mix w/other Jewish communities. Women throughout the world have always left their fathers' ritual home religious practices, to adapt themselves to a husband. No big deal if decendents have Han genetics, but want to return to the ancestral faith of their lost community. In Israel we will wecome them. It seems only in Red China are they denied their identity 😔😪
My highschool principal , Rabbi Hellman was a Holocaust survivor , who escaped Europe to China . . His entire yeshiva and the families affiliated with it (Mir Yeshiva) escaped to Shanghai China during WW2 . True, there are Jews in China since the days of the Chinese Dynasty. They made much good contribution and in one particular Dynasty the Emperor unprecedentedly rewarded the Jews with 4 Chinese Surnames. That was unheard of in the Chinese history as it meant embracing the Jewish people as the Chinese people. We, the Chinese people are non Muslims regardless of nationality. The Muslims in China are called Hui the short form for Hui Jiao translated as Muslims . As per the shariah law all over the world, once a person converted to Islam that person effectively cut off and renounce their Non Muslims parents, children, relatives right through their ancestors. Period! The effect of conversations to Islam manifested very clearly in the Family & inheritance shariah law. There is absolutely no denial of it. The source of law for the Islamic or shariah law both for the hudud or criminal and the family and inheritance are from the Quran, Hadith etc AND it is only the shariah law alone the Muslim are forbidden to abrogate. So never be deceived by a Muslim who quote to you a Quranic or Hadith verses as there are more than 30 versions of the Quran which have absolutely nothing to do with language translation but tie in with the Quranic mandated teachings of lies and deception called taqiyyah and Mudarat to deceive and trap non muslims into conversion which forbids them from leaving Islam freely. The Christians will understand the Passover command to the Jewish people. That certainly influenced our Chinese culture especially during our Chinese New Year or Spring Festival or Lunar New Year. Our Lunar calendar itself is interesting too. Many Jews went to China for sheltering during the horrendous holocaust. The Jewish people do not create problems or start wars unnecessarily. They only protect themselves and are brave to retaliate against the Islamic terrorists and Islamic tyranny. Period.
It's not hard to figure out who the Chinese Jews of Kaifeng are. They are the Chinese Jews of Kaifeng. The presence of Jews in southwest India dates back 2,500 years about. As merchants and the first international bankers, the Jews were major travelers on the Silk Road, their activities extending over a vast area from Western Europe to East Asia. They maintained intense commercial relations with China. It is therefore quite possible that the presence of Jews in Kaifeng goes back much further than suggested here. Their physical transformations attest to a long presence in China.
Jews have resembled non Jewish peoples around them due to intermarriage and cultural assimilation. This has occurred in every society on earth where Jews have lived in exile. The Kaifeng Jews lost their religious identity but the historical and cultural awareness is still very much a source of pride among people who no longer actively practice their faith but understood where they came from. This happened because to the Han Chinese descendants, the similarities between Judaism and Confucianism brought about a secular Judaism that had no parallels in other parts of the world.
@@NormanF62 There are Jews in that Area of China who still remember cherished Jewish Practices . My Pa showed me historical evidence that Jews were in China before the First Chinese Emperor! Not sure if the information is totally correct. From my study of Hebrew history, back in the Roman times, it was the destruction of the Jewish nation by the Romans happened in 70 CE during the Roman siege of Jerusalem, which culminated in the destruction of the Second Temple - the Jewish Diaspora. This dispersion later expanded after the Bar Kokhba Revolt (132-136 CE), when Jews were further exiled from Judea. These events forced Jewish communities to establish roots in Europe, North Africa, and even parts of Asia, including India and China over time. I am sure the trades might have been part of the migration; however, in the Jewish historical text, Jewish settled in China as result of the destruction of the Jewish nation.
I lived in Jerusalem for thirteen years, and personally saw Chinese Jews in Jerusalem with my own eyes. One worked as a security guard at the local grocery store.
@@ahembd1 I do not dispute that there are, and as part of the Chinese community in Kaifeng for two thousand years, Jewish people and faith in China. According to the Jewish history text, they original got there not through trades but through the destruction of the Jewish nation. After two thousand years, of course, they have all been intermarried to local Chinese and now are all Chinese Jews.

China had complete freedom of religion throughout history. The only catch was that they do not speak against the ruling monarchy or party. Islam actually major religion in China, that why you see halal Chinese food in China and outside China. Chinese General Bai Chongxi made considerable contribution to Muslim and interfaith counsel in China and Taiwan. He was a brilliant and ethical military leader. He promoted all religions coexistence in China and Taiwan. Catholics, Christian, and Buddhist leader praised his leadership. He was the national leader of Muslim counsel in China and Taiwan. When Japanese launched propaganda war against Chinese Nationalists trying to fan hui (Muslim) resentment against Han majority; General Bao spoke out and declared Jihad against Japanese Imperialists. The reason I brought this up was General Bai’s ancestry also traces back to Persia, his Persian name was Omar.

@@jonathanszeningtang5582 Thanks so much for the questions. Your comments mean a lot to us: 1. Is Jewish a lifestyle, practice, or race? Jewish or Judaism can be any of the three. Judaism is complex because it encompasses: Religion: Judaism is a faith, with specific beliefs, practices, and customs. Ethnicity: Many Jewish people trace their ancestry to ancient Israelites, which ties them to a shared history and genetic lineage. Culture: Jewish identity is often linked to cultural traditions, language (like Hebrew or Yiddish), and shared historical experiences. Being Jewish can involve any combination of these factors. For example, someone can be born Jewish (ethnically) but not practice Judaism as a religion. Others convert to Judaism (religiously) and embrace the culture, even if they aren’t ethnically Jewish. 2. Are Jewish people colored or Black? The question of whether ancient Israelites were "Black" is nuanced and depends on definitions of race, historical context, and available evidence. Here's an overview to help unpack this complex topic: 1. Ancient Israelites' Origins The ancient Israelites were Semitic people originating from the Near East, specifically the Levant (modern-day Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and surrounding regions). Geographic Location: The Levant is situated between Africa, Asia, and Europe, making it a cultural and genetic crossroads. Physical Appearance: They likely had features typical of other ancient Semitic peoples-bronze or olive-toned skin, dark hair, and Middle Eastern facial features. 2. Connection to Africa Egyptian Influence: The Israelites spent centuries in Egypt (according to biblical accounts), and their proximity to Africa meant there was likely interaction and some level of admixture with African populations. Ethiopian Ties: Historical and biblical traditions link the Israelites to Ethiopia (e.g., the Queen of Sheba visiting King Solomon) and other African regions, suggesting cultural and genetic exchanges. 3. Were They "Black"? Race in Antiquity: The concept of race as we understand it today didn’t exist in ancient times. People were more likely identified by their tribe, language, or culture rather than by skin color. Diversity: Given the Levant's location and historical interactions, ancient Israelites may have exhibited a range of physical appearances, from lighter olive tones to darker hues. 4. Biblical and Historical Clues Biblical Descriptions: Some individuals in the Bible, such as Moses' Cushite (Ethiopian) wife (Numbers 12:1), suggest connections with African peoples. DNA Evidence: Modern genetic studies of Jewish populations show ties to both the Middle East and North Africa, reflecting the region's historical diversity. 5. Black Identity and Israelites Many groups today, including African Americans and communities like the Ethiopian Beta Israel and the Lemba of Southern Africa, identify as descendants of the Israelites. This reflects the deep spiritual and cultural connection many Black people feel toward the Israelites’ story of struggle, liberation, and covenant with God. While it’s unlikely that all ancient Israelites were "Black" in the modern racial sense, they were certainly people of color with physical traits reflecting their Middle Eastern and African context. They were part of a diverse ancient world, influenced by and interacting with neighboring African and Near Eastern civilizations. Historically, Jewish communities have been incredibly diverse due to their dispersion (diaspora) around the world. While many Jews are of Middle Eastern origin (e.g., Sephardic Jews), others have lived in Africa, Europe, and Asia, developing unique cultural and physical traits based on their environment. Black Jews: Communities like the Ethiopian Jews (Beta Israel) and the Lemba people in Southern Africa have Jewish ancestry and traditions. Other ethnicities: There are also Ashkenazi Jews (of European descent), Mizrahi Jews (Middle Eastern), and Indian Jews, among others. Jewish people cannot be confined to one "color" or racial category. Their diversity reflects centuries of migration and integration into local societies. 3. Why are the Kaifeng Jews not Black? The Kaifeng Jews are descendants of Jewish merchants who traveled to China via the Silk Road over 1,000 years ago. Over time, they assimilated into Chinese society, adopting local languages, clothing, and customs. Intermarriage: Through generations of intermarriage with the Han Chinese, their physical appearance changed to resemble the local population. Preservation of Judaism: Despite assimilation, they retained Jewish practices, such as observing dietary laws, celebrating festivals, and studying Hebrew scriptures. This highlights that Jewish identity transcends race and skin color-it is rooted in shared history, traditions, and beliefs. Conclusion Jewish identity is multifaceted and cannot be reduced to a single category like race, lifestyle, or practice. The diversity within Jewish communities worldwide shows how Judaism adapts to various cultural and historical contexts while preserving its core identity.
Jew is a person who practices Judaism. Race is actually not relevant. In reality most of the Jews are racially compatible. But, Judaism permits conversions under a strict educational process. To be a Jew is not the easiest thing in the world. It demands sincere dedication to ethics and tradition around the Torah (Moses's law).
It is indeed confusing. It's not a life-style, not a practice and not a race. Judaism is an ethno-religion. Unlike missionary religions like Christianity and Islam that try to convince everyone to join them with a universal message, ethno-religions try to make it hard to convert to them, as their message is specific about some nation. Judaism's message is 'WE' were slaves in Egypt, 'WE' have made a special covenant with god, 'WE' have rebelled against Selucid rule and fomed the Hasmonian kingdom etc. It's all stories about who the Jewish ancestors were and what happened to them - not a universal story about all of humanity and how everyone should live. So while it's not a race, being Jewish is about claiming to be a part of this ancient people and continuing its story. Any convert to Judaism is going to be singing about how 'his ancestors were slaves in Egypt', which is kind of odd if its just a Chineese person whose ancestors werent anywhere near Egypt.... Usually people convert to marry into a Jewish family, so their children can still claim to be a part of the Jewish people. Judaism is far from being the only ethno-religion, it's just probably the most famous one. Other ethno religions include: the Druze, the Alawis of Syria, Samaritans, Nakhi from the foothills of the Himalayas, Igbo of southeastern Nigeria, Bantu of Central/Southern Africa and many more. Typically, ethno-religions remain small and local because of the lack of missionary activity. Judaism became widespread due to the exile and repeated expulsions.
I think the Kaifeng Jews are genetically mostly Han Chinese with only a small amount of Jewish DNA. Chinese Jews heavily mixed with Han Chinese, and they are now indistinguishable from them.
You're very correct. According to Research, even those that claim to be Kaifeng Jews show very few or no Genetic Jewish DNA. Most of them came to believe they are Kaifeng jews by verbal stories passed down to them by their ancestors. And of course, artifacts of Jewish synagogue and historical records made the story have a stronghold.
@@FireLord-se6dtBut genetic researchers, Kaifeng Jewish DNA does not inherit Middle Eastern DNA, this is just a ridiculous story like the story of Ashkenazi Jews whose DNA is 80% European!
While the current China Government recognizes Islamists as one of their four Recognized Religions, It does Not recognize Judaism even though Jewish Communities were recorded in China from before the advent of Islam. Indeed , several ancient temples described as Mosques were originally Built as Synagogues . Whileover time , the Kaifeng Synagogue was the primary Synagouge for the Jewish Families in China over Time, the instances of preventing recognigion of Judaism as one of the Religions in China has undoubtedly led to the shrinking Jewish Community there. It is a Historical Shame that even this video indirectly reflects the Anti-Semitism sweeping the World because of the Islamic philosophical desire to cause all to Become Islamic. Historically , Every Country wherever Jewish People have settled around the World benefited and grew stronger and more prosperous through the peaceful acceptance and prosperity of Jewish Communities. Those Countries that tried to expell or forcebly absorb Jewish Communities did not eventually prosper. This video is not entirely accurate , I am convinced without a doubt that Recognition Of Judaism and further acceptance of the Kaifong Jewish Community would have greatly improved China in many ways both internally in Wisdom and Internationally recognizable accomplishments as well as externally as a perhaps socially more advanced and Interesting Nation to interact with.
If you listen to the video very well. China accepted the Jewish people. In fact, China is among the only few that recognized them and allowed them to freely practice their religion unhindered. But due to natural disaster that happened to the synagogue and great assimilation by the Jews with the Chinese, they eventually lost the Jewish practices. No one talked about China accepting Islam in this video. You said it. The aim of the video is to show that even Judaism got to China. We love the Jewish people and believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel

Wrong. That's an incredibly antisemitic view used to make an argument that the Jews in Israel have no right to be there. Ashkenazi Jews, Sephardic Jews, and mizrahi Jews are all Jews. Descended from Abraham to the kingdom of Judea. Genetics is already showing this to be true. Don't be so ignorant

DNA definitely varies according to the location where one lives and not just by race, there is no one nation that is completely different from another nation that lives in the same area, and there will always be genetic similarities between peoples from the same area even if they have not mixed at all. In fact, DNA that differs even by 2 or 3 percent from the rest of the population is definitely proof of a different ancient ethnic origin. Of course, in the Jewish people there are a few percent of converts to Judaism who have definitely influenced the genes of the entire people...

Jews are descendants of Jacob, grandson of Abraham. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob language are Hebrew and currency Shekel. All descendants of Jacob, Israel are Jews.
Sorry about that. The terms "CE" (Common Era) and "BCE" (Before Common Era) are used as secular alternatives to "AD" (Anno Domini) and "BC" (Before Christ). Here are a few reasons for their use: 1. Inclusivity: CE/BCE terminology is more inclusive for people of different religions and cultural backgrounds, as not everyone adheres to the Christian calendar. 2. Neutrality: Using CE/BCE helps avoid the religious connotations associated with AD and BC, making it more suitable for academic, historical, and interfaith discussions. 3. Continuity: The Common Era begins with the same year as AD 1 and counts the same way as BC, ensuring that the historical timeline remains unchanged. In summary, CE and BCE are used to foster a more inclusive and neutral way of referencing historical dates.
You may wonder, of course, but this video is not about theology. For centuries, Jews are asking to be left alone. Not impose their views in others, but to be left alone. They are fundamentally polite: from the standpoint of rhe Jews, you engage in idolatry. But they don't tell you that you are morally deficient and leave the matter to be resolved by the Creator. But not you: you judge others and don't miss an opportunity to insult the Jews (or worse). Mind your own business and leave the Jews alone.

Did the woman of the Keifeng Jewish community bind thier feet as the Han Chinese woman?
No

Very strange, apparently a reformist organization is looking for how and what to spend money on.
@@Biblestoriesunveiled-q1t Kaifeng Jews do have Jewish DNA. But they have more Han Chinese DNA.
@@FireLord-se6dtThey’re related to Bukharian Jews, Persian Jews, the Han Chinese and the Hui people.
As long as their mother tongue is Hebrew, they are Jews.

Historically , Every Country wherever
Jewish People have settled around the World benefited and grew stronger and more prosperous through the peaceful acceptance and prosperity of Jewish Communities.
@@Biblestoriesunveiled-q1t i think officially China don't have Jewish as one of the ethnic minority status.

Yet, these Kaifeng Jews won't be accepted in Izzy as they have discriminated against dark skinned Ethiopian Jews
There are programs being put in place where all who identify as Jews be accepted and there will be no more discrimination. We pray for unity among the Jewish community 🙏
Many Kaifeng Jews have been brought to Israel by the Israeli agency set up to rescue Jews living in hostile countries or simply where they are not freely able to practise their Judaism. They, like the Ethiopian and Yemenite Jews are fully integrated into Israeli life, along with non-Jewish minorities.
They’re pronounced steely but spelled stele (1) steles or stelai (>1) and it’s sinews not sinus!!! Don’t get ChatGPT to do your homework 👎
@WILFREDRUSSELL-h8n after these Kaifeng Jews get their Izzy passports, they'll migrate once more 2 US, which is their ultimate destination after all. After Yom Kippur 2023, Kaifeng Jews cold sweat; just like that Charles Bronson movie
They are airlifted from Ethiopia at a grea cost and the discriminated against? You will believe anything, will you not? As long as the falsehood make the Jews look bad, you will belive it.
But genetic researchers, Kaifeng Jewish DNA does not inherit Middle Eastern DNA, this is just a ridiculous story like the story of Ashkenazi Jews whose DNA is 80% European!
Not true. According to DNA tests Ashkenazi Jews are about half European and half Middle Eastern.

Keep your dreams and go on with your illusions and myths.
But don´t blaim other peopel, with your ridiculous antisemitc-club,
when they laugh at you because of your invented nation!
@@seti1130You are like European colonialists, accusing people who say that Ashkenazi Jews are more European and Kaifeng Jews are more Chinese of being anti-Semitic, even though genetic research shows that Ashkenazi and Kaifeng Jews do not have Semitic characteristics like Palestinian Semites.... Hey man the years ar bc or after Christ your mesiah.

Sorry about that.
The terms "CE" (Common Era) and "BCE" (Before Common Era) are used as secular alternatives to "AD" (Anno Domini) and "BC" (Before Christ). Here are a few reasons for their use:
