Yea, I understand now why I could never really beat this game properly. I never made a balanced necromancer. I loved making endless summons and having them fight for me. So I literally just dumped points into summoning endlessly. I should have invested in bone shield, bone spear and bone prison like you did. Then I'd have attack, defense and suppression.
Sorry for responding so late. I personally think that bone spear and bone wall/ bone prison is one of the easiest ways to level up a necromancer. Just the fact that you can emprison Duriel makes it a lot easier. You deal magic damage which isn't a monster immunity until act 2 Hell and even than very rarely, Bone spear lets deal you much more damage as shown on paper. Maybe your fire char deals a lot more damage on paper, but monsters are to a certain procent immune to this damage. Your minions are primarly there to block damage for you and pul the aggro from you away. Later on you can specifically chose the right revived monsters to boost your damage output. Big drawback of the Bonenecromancer is the single target damage especially against Act Bosses. A lot of Mana is required.
