Tony - good job - thanks for the video. The little screws holding the switch are "a bit a challenge", indeed 😊 but all worked at the end.

I'm glad it helped you. Yes them small screws are very fiddlie but once you find the tool that works its not a bad job. 👍

Easy way to get them 2 screws out of switch ignition...took me literally 2 mins to get the first one out by using a bendy ratchet screw driver cost £10 from amazon ..saves tons of time and stress

The two little screws securing that switch is like an impossible task, how you did that, I can’t?

It isn't essential to do it this way but I found it far easier than struggling from underneath, which I tried first. It's much easier to see what everything including the tiny grub screws this way.

    Great video & really instructive.
On my Boxster, the spring-return position for the energising the starter motor has failed. We have to remember to turn the key back to the power on position, so all other electricals work.
Will changing the ignition switch fix the failed spring-return function please?

Thanks for taking the time to demo this especially on a rRH drive car. Btw… I guess you don’t need to completely remove the awkward little screws?

Hey man I just saw a video of a guy sticking a paperclip or safety pin threw the ignition, there's a tiny button, press that down ignition pops out. I have a 99 boxster, it came without a immobilizer, now I have to buy a used kit just to send it to ecu doctors so they can pull data off it and put it on there new immobilizer

Hi buddy thanks so much for your videos of Boxster 2000 I have a problem with my car is a Boxster 2000 too, the problem is with the key. Is hard to take it out, and when I try to start up I don’t go inside, with you experience what do you think it happened and how can I fix it.
I really appreciate your answer. I am a follower of you Channel and your very interesting videos. Thanks so much

I would change the ignition switch. I do know they are not the best but not to hard to change. 👍

You don't need to do any of that trim and light switch removal. Just pull the duct apart under the dash get under then pull the wires then undo the two grub screws and swop the switch them put it back. This is all unnecessary.

I agree, but the first time of doing this, it was easier to understand where the grub screws were. Also I could show on the camera.
From underneath I would find it harder and just did it the way that was easy for me. Next time (I hope there isn't a next time) I possibly would do it your way.
Thank you for our comment. 👍

Won’t you be doing that blind thought? Removing the lights control is a pain but at least you can see what you are doing…

Trying to do this by going underneath dash is plain stupidity literally takes 10 mins by doing it how this guy did but with a ratchet screwdriver
