Just to answer your question: Austria had no national final. Since a few years our broadcaster ORF does kind of a „secret“ selection for who we send to represent us. They announced their participation in February and always make a little secret about the song. We austrians kinda get a surprise every year…with the exception that it’s good this year!

there was like always sadly no public selection show in Austria... - so we just hope that Pia Mia can deliver vocally , Gabry Ponte the mastermind of Eiffel65 "Blue dabeda..." is one of the song writers of the song.... so we got Eurodisco 90ies vibe representing Austria
The reason for the intern selection of ORF is that established artists don't want to loose publicly. So it's a secret who has lost to the chosen one. LUM!X has achieved hundreds of millions of streams, 77 weeks in the top 100, more then 10 mio listeners on spotify per month, simply one of Austria's most sucessful artists. Pia Maria is a newcomer and was especially selected for this song. On the demo tape sang originally Sophie Alexandra Tweed-Simmons,the daughter of Gene Simmons of KISS (she is also one of the song writers). Pia Maria is a way better singer.
This would be a great song for tomorrowland but I have no idea how it will do at Eurovision. LUM!X is a big name, but how will older people react on it and juries? I really have no clue. I love it.
This is just a great EDM song imo, and I enjoy a lot of EDM stuff I kinda like the music video, mixing classical look with modern EDM sound to be honest. A different approach to mixing traditional to modern 😆 I just hope the staging in Turin will be able to capture the energy of the song because there is a lot of it in this Oh and I will give this one 4/5
A crappy rapper would make the mid 90's Eurodance vibe complete 😆 I'm thankful they didn't include that, cause the way it is here makes it a banger🕺My concern is for her live vocals, since it's both seems like it's in a quite high and a bit forced register for her voice type and there are barely any pauses within the chorus.
Great but not as much as other songs this year. It's a "small favorite" for me (between the 20th and the 31st places, unless the song from Azerbaijan is greater) but it will probably change quickly.
