He knows how to sit, shake hands, roll over, speak on command, and many other tricks. German Shepherds are one of the most popular dog breeds in the world because they are so obedient and loyal. A GSD is a loyal companion dog and if shown love and given the right training they will be your best friend for life. German Shepherds are often used by the military and police because they make great guard dogs. Dog trainers love working with German Shepherds because they are able to learn so many commands. They have a very strong work ethic that makes them great dogs for an active family. And Buddy is a great example of how awesome German Shepherds and dogs in general are!

GSD's also do well at dog sports such as agility, freestyle, obedience, tracking or protection sports too! If you're looking for an obedient canine companion with tons of personality a German Shepherd could be for you. And wether they are a puppy or a German Shepherd rescue dog from the shelter they are always willing to learn. They are very intelligent dogs that grasp concepts quickly.
GSD's can come in a variety of colors including black/tan, solid black, sable and white. They have bushy tail which they carry up over their back or tucked between their legs when excited or happy! One look at the German Shepherd Dog family tree will show you why these dogs are such pretty dogs.
A lot of German Shelters and mixed breed GSD's end up in animal shelters so I would always recommend adopting if you are able. There are great German Shepherd specific rescues across the United States and the world. I have worked with a couple personally like German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County and German Shepherd Rescue Burbank.
