Y'shaarj's voice is to me the most "disgusting" of them all... it is so calm and "normal" compared to C'thun (cold and emotionless) and Yogg-Saron (plain mad). When you listen to all of their voices, and listen to this one as the last one, it feels almost uncomfortable... I think it is a testament to how great Y'shaarj's voice, as well as the other Old God's voices really are. They aren't generic evul hurr durr bullshit, they all have a certain feel to them.
+Namuuh It strikes me as the one that appeals more to the ones unwilling to give up their emotions when they join the Twilights Hammer. Most times, yes, we see the cultists still have their emotions.. but do they really? Aren't they just using their fanatic fervor in most of these cases. In any case, Y'Shaarj is that Old God that seems more adept at manipulation because his voice is just so.. intimate in a sense. He understands that we mortals have emotion, and so choose to express said emotions. Thus, he plays on ours: Anger, Doubt, Fear, Hatred, Despair, and Pride (Violence isn't really an emotion). I would personally rather follow him than C'Thun or Yogg-Saron because he understands me better than another of the Old Gods ever could, just by being the individual he is. A few lines that sell me on the idea of following him: "Carve more slowly.. that I may feed." "When you walk among the Black Forest.. you will see..." "Eyes are the windows to the soul; shatter them forever." "All that you have accomplished, all that you have won.. hehehe.. and still you lick the boots of kings..." "You will rest in Ny'alotha..."
this is why I love the Old Gods in WoW. There is a huge contrast between them: -C'thun speaks slow and impose his pressence, bacause his power is so vast that only seeing him makes you realize that you cannot hold against him. -Yogg-Saron mocks and laughs at the heroes, cause he grows in strengh with the death of all the races, he knows that we cannot deny the facts he shows, and even in his defeat he knows that the world is doom. -T'Shaarj is more a cunning planner, he whisper to us that our weakness are his strenghs, and enjoys watching those who oppose him fall to his words.
bookplate Ah but he does talk ever so briefly in the game! In the Well of Eternity during the cut scene everyone skips after Azshara, a mysterious voice commands Deathwing to go away, slightly at first, then more dominantly afterwards.
Kyle Vanderhoof Actually no, only N'Zoth is in the core. When the Titans arrived at Azeroth, there were 7 Old Gods, 2 were slain, 2 had their remains sealed and 3 were imprisoned. so far we have seen 2 of this prisons and 1 of the seals, wich leaves only N'Zoth prison in the center of the sea and the last unnamed Old God in the Eastern Kingdoms.
mutalord C'thun is not one of "the three" that corrupted Deathwing. N'zoth is confirmed but the other two are speculated. One of them might be Yogg-saron, based on what he says and the vision he shows you.
Old Gods are known for the corruption they spread through their whispers of evil that are focused upon a victim until they are driven mad. Here are a few lines where Y'Shaarj is directly whispering to YOU, the player, in an attempt to weaken you from the inside out; forcing you to commit your own demise from your side of the keyboard in the final encounter of Garrosh: - "All that you have accomplished, all that you have won... **laugh** yet still you lick the boots of kings." ((King of SW: "Hey thanks for literally giving your own life in an effort to defeat the Lich King back in WotLK. But now do you mind going and killing a few wolves or something for me again now in Cata, peasant?")) - "Embrace your rage." ((Rage-quit, that is, you frustrated noob.)) - "Voice your doubts." ((/raid This is a waste of time. We just do not have the healing OR dps for him.)) - "Your allies think you are weak." ((How often do you watch recount and your stats and compare them to everyone else's because of the worry (no matter the size) that your fellow raiders may consider you a hindrance to the effort? Or that you're just a scrub nub? All the time, I know.)) - "You do not have the strength to defeat him. You are too weak to carry on." ((Looks like you wiped again for the 10th time today and are gettin' pretty tired of this shit. Garrosh is lookin' fuckin' OP. Wanna try again? Hahahaha!)) - "You have already lost." ((Oh look someone wasted a CD too early or a couple people died standing in fire. Why even bother with the rest of this? "GG, wipe, reset plz".))
y'shaarj sounds like the inner grief of a human. darkest thoughts wich people create, then live with them,or die from them. so I feel that y'shaarj is no differante from a human, only more wise, and more powerful. guess a human would look like y'shaarj if hed be immortal and thought the same way,as y'shaarj in wow.
If you've been hearing a strange creepy voice lately, and you're using Xal'atoh, Desecrated Image of Gorehowl, the voice is Y'Shaarj speaking to you through the weapon.
3DTyrant Sarah Li well the Idea is old in classic the corrupted ashbringer talk to you when you use it, and i think 12 whispers of ashbringer was a lot cooler and creepyier than the voice of Y´shaarj
Someone needs to make a soundboard of this and do prank calls. I can just envision people reacting to the line "I can taste the essence of your soul, it is sweet."
Alright! I love Horror, I have loved it sense I was a child cowering in fear of the monsters that often plagued my dreams. I soon craved that sensation that feeling of intoxicating horror, it was sweet to me. "I can taste the essence of your soul, it is sweet" That shit brought me back there, and not in the way that I was intending it... that was like a brush with something truly terrible... and what I thought would be exciting is... not... not at all... my body tempreture plummeted when he took that almost pleasure driven breath at 1:28... terrible... just terrible...
The flaw in the plan of both C'thun Yogg-Saron is this they both rushed in and tried to conquer when the levels of power that they commanded were tOo small Y'shaarj was shaken soda can waiting to explode because its shadow was dormant but after the Horde and Alliance arrived in Pandaria it awoke because of the fear rage and doubt that they brought (I DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT G'HUUN OR HIS LORE) G'huun was a blind idiot who probably had more intent on killing Azeroth (the titan) rather than corrupting it for the Void Lords but his freedom would probably set free the other void minions across Azeroth in good time anyway... N'zoth may be the weakest of them however it is patient and cunning and probably has the largest fallowing of mortals
Errr just to shed some light on ghuun for you: he was a creation the titans made by accident while experimenting on a way to try and "cure" the disease that is the old gods. I doubt ghuun had any loyalty towards the void lords or the old gods as his only instinct was to spread his pestilence and consume all living things.
This patch was called Visions of N'zoth.. as far as I'm concerned, we may have lost this battle and N'zoth has put us in a state to make us think we've won..
Also why is no one talking about Alleria who has an old god inside her? And the blade thanking us for bringig it to the pantheon? I feel like slowly but surely every single goddamn part of this universe is getting corrupted we just yet to realise it and even if all this is just BS and fanfic I love it way too much. Oh the possiblities with this story line ah god.
This guy must have been beast at his 100%, garosh got only power from his hearth which is what maybe 0,01%? And we have seen how powerful garosh was even with that small insignificant portion of dead old god power. No wonder it took direct intervention of Titan to destroy him. Like this old god was probabbly closest thing in power lvl to titans at his prime which is crazy as titans are Gods of warcraft universe.
I can guess why the titans themselves had to intervene to defeat this Old God *____SPOILER____* (-they actually ripped him from Azeroth and tossed him into the Dark Beyond-) *___END_OF_SPOILER___*. This is the kind of monster that ruins nations from the inside with no effort.
Cthune and Yaashatj voice is rly creepy, cold, gore and emotionless. While yogg sarone's is scary and deep. I feel i rly got curropted by yashaarj's whispers 😂 And btw if we can hear whispers from axe so doesnt it means just mind of yashaarj is somehow alive?but just doesnt have physical strength.just power of mental
It seems that C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, and Y'Shaarj are too damaged in vital areas to survive physically. Yes, they may be physically dead and their grasp on this world has been lost, but their voices will remain so long as either they all survive or until the Void Lords die.
love the old god lore in wow do like it how ppl think we can kill them player dont have the power to kill them c'thun was 99% dead when we fight him in aq and yogg-saron all we dont was slam the door to his cage back down
Some are from the Garrosh fight when he's in the heart room gaining energy, and some are from when you wield Xal'atoh, Desecrated Image of Gorehowl (much alike the Corrupted Ashbringer and its whispers)
Donquixote Doflamingo He is fully dead now, the whispers were from his heart - the Titans killed Y'shaarj not knowing the impact it would bring (the Sha, in this case) and imprisoned his heart under the Vale.
3DTyrant The axe (being a part of Y'Shaarj) resonates Y'shaarj's will, like a real life echo (not sentient, just "echoes" random stuff that Y'shaarj would say till its powers run off).
+Aizen Sōsuke You cannot kill an old god. You can never kill an Old god. They exist outside our state of consciousness. They exist outside of life and death.
Probably the worst of the 5. He just sounds like an evil character doesn't have that presence like the other ones do. The voice work is good but not for an old god even worse when you consider he was supposed to be the strongest one.
He understand human's emotion. Despair, Fear, Anger, Hatred all will cause someone to try to escape. To get away from that emotions. Right into Pride, where as they beat the other negativity, they embrace their own pride, ignorant to the fact that it itself is negative as well.
"All should bow before you.... MAKE THEM!"
Y'Shaarj is the ultimate motivation.
Mateus Deathbringer The master of motivational speaking :)
What about Shia Labeouf?
+Piotr Dyziak I have no idea who that is, mind filling me in?
Hollywood super star:)
+Piotr Dyziak I see, thanks :)

Can wait for N'zoth I'll bet they will make it fucking epic
+cottermcg 1234 N'zoth sounds terrifying, he is in hearthstone now.
+Namuuh It strikes me as the one that appeals more to the ones unwilling to give up their emotions when they join the Twilights Hammer. Most times, yes, we see the cultists still have their emotions.. but do they really? Aren't they just using their fanatic fervor in most of these cases.

ll'gynoth sounds like the best one
Namuuh well he was the old god leader before he died
this is why I love the Old Gods in WoW. There is a huge contrast between them:

bookplate Ah but he does talk ever so briefly in the game! In the Well of Eternity during the cut scene everyone skips after Azshara, a mysterious voice commands Deathwing to go away, slightly at first, then more dominantly afterwards.
+Vurasi That's not just N'Zoth. There are at least three confirmed Old Gods trapped in the center of Azeroth.
Kyle Vanderhoof Actually no, only N'Zoth is in the core. Gwyns theme nice choice
"You will rest in Ny'alotha." So chilling and relaxing at the same time and the song helps to cement that.
Old Gods are known for the corruption they spread through their whispers of evil that are focused upon a victim until they are driven mad. Skinrar I read this somewhere else already, nice copy paste
Creative Name who made the original tho?
I so goddamn love all the "Old Gods" themes in the WoW-Universe
You will rest in Ny'alotha.... Sweet dreams! :D
Same the raid is not really hard and challeging like the others one of bfa like Uldir
Ny’alotha was so hyped....now whenever we do the raid I’m just underwhelmed by it
Frank Welker is one hell of a voice actor, he knows how to send chills down ones spine.
y'shaarj sounds like the inner grief of a human.
darkest thoughts wich people create, then live with them,or die from them.
so I feel that y'shaarj is no differante from a human, only more wise, and more powerful.

Yeah, I have heard it from my own axe that i got from LFR, pretty creepy if you ask me
3DTyrant Sarah Li
well the Idea is old in classic the corrupted ashbringer talk to you when you use it, and i think 12 whispers of ashbringer was a lot cooler and creepyier than the voice of Y´shaarj
DKHZStudio Yes, I know about the 12 whispers of the Corrupted Ashbringer, and both weapons whispers are cool
i wish i have play classic to have the corruped ashbring... ^^
DKHZStudio the idea is more a continued puzzle that started with the puzzle box of Yogg Saron...all I can say is...they come.
1:28 Y'Shaarj doing ASMR lmao
Y shaarj kinda sus
Someone needs to make a soundboard of this and do prank calls. I can just envision people reacting to the line "I can taste the essence of your soul, it is sweet."
That would be cruel, yet funny to hear.
3DTyrant your allies betray you...
After listening to the 4 old gods' dialogues, I conclude that Yogg is that one angry friend of the bunch.
Yogg is that one Tought friend nobody wants to mess with cause he is crazy in his head.
The song is at the end of the video, but it's called "Gwyn, Lord of Cinders" from the Dark Souls game
Admittedly I am very sensitive right now, but the music and his whispers legit have me feeling some kind of sad.
Alright! I love Horror, I have loved it sense I was a child cowering in fear of the monsters that often plagued my dreams. I soon craved that sensation that feeling of intoxicating horror, it was sweet to me.

DO NOT TURN FROM MADNESS. DEVOUR IT!!!!
The flaw in the plan of both C'thun Yogg-Saron is this they both rushed in and tried to conquer when the levels of power that they commanded were tOo small
Y'shaarj was shaken soda can waiting to explode because its shadow was dormant but after the Horde and Alliance arrived in Pandaria it awoke because of the fear rage and doubt that they brought
(I DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT G'HUUN OR HIS LORE)
G'huun was a blind idiot who probably had more intent on killing Azeroth (the titan) rather than corrupting it for the Void Lords but his freedom would probably set free the other void minions across Azeroth in good time anyway...

This gives me chills I LOVE IT
This bad boy gotta come back
Ah yes, my favorite content.
Old god ASMR. :D
How is this so relaxing yet scary
Nice addition of Dark Souls OST - Gwyn, Lord of Cinder.
"JUST, MAKE THEM!"
Frank Welker voiced this, the guy who made the Scream of Spock in "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock". Useless knowledge for the win
best voice of all the old gods imo give us some more y'shaarj voices in shadowlands
Nice choice of music.
Dark Souls has such a great soundtrack.
Best part is: the whispers make me realize my group was a fail and even reimnded me so >:O
I guess we didn't really rest in Ny'Alotha like he said.
This patch was called Visions of N'zoth.. as far as I'm concerned, we may have lost this battle and N'zoth has put us in a state to make us think we've won..

Damn the ost in the background makes it so fitting
Man... now I want to play dark souls again
Gywn's theme in the background... d-damn it...
"Your allies think you are weak."
"Yeah yeah, I know how pick up groups work."
GORGE YOUR HATRED, EMBRACE YOUR RAGE
Y'Shaarj is so sensual.
The music is amazing
Good meditation material...

Music at the background is final boss music from dark souls 1
Indeed, it is!
What's with Gwyn's theme at the background?
Because I feel that it fits, so why not?
It fits too well, it has already struck fear into the hearts of mortalkind...
Hail Y'Shaarj, Old God of Fear.
I sleep to this
"talking with friends when Xal'atoth beguns to talk"
me: SHUT UP axe!
dude sounds so much like sauron. he should've been the voice in the hobbit series
I can guess why the titans themselves had to intervene to defeat this Old God *____SPOILER____* (-they actually ripped him from Azeroth and tossed him into the Dark Beyond-) *___END_OF_SPOILER___*. This is the kind of monster that ruins nations from the inside with no effort.
i still think we didnt kill nzoth maybe shadowland is a illusion
You think so? Sorry you feel that way, I would re-upload it, how ever the programme I use wont allow me to upload videos now
The squid mural is more of N'Zoth than Y'Shaarj.
i was wondering wtf was going on and why i was hearing this. DX
Whad do you mean 10 years ago 😢 I'm getting old
I thought Y'Shaarj was long dead.
Cthune and Yaashatj voice is rly creepy, cold, gore and emotionless.
While yogg sarone's is scary and deep.
I feel i rly got curropted by yashaarj's whispers 😂
And btw if we can hear whispers from axe so doesnt it means just mind of yashaarj is somehow alive?but just doesnt have physical strength.just power of mental

love the old god lore in wow do like it how ppl think we can kill them player dont have the power to kill them c'thun was 99% dead when we fight him in aq and yogg-saron all we dont was slam the door to his cage back down
I love the music, what is it ?
Why does his voice sound like the one in my head?
Anyone knows the piano piece playing in the background? It sounds familiar but i just can't remember
Oh wait.... Is it dark souls?
It's Gwyn's theme from Dark Souls
Where do you hear these quotes?
Some are from the Garrosh fight when he's in the heart room gaining energy, and some are from when you wield Xal'atoh, Desecrated Image of Gorehowl (much alike the Corrupted Ashbringer and its whispers)
Where can one get ze Xal'atoh?
SnazzyNinja It's a 2-handed axe than can be looted from Garrosh
Acknowledged. Thanks man!
What is the ost called, soundtrack
Gwyn's theme, dark souls 1
Gwyn?!?!?
0:48 wait we lick the boots of kings. Have you played modern wow. They lick our boots
Not bad but I still think the whispers from C'thun and Yogg-Saron were way cooler!
sauron from lord of the rings, anyone
so is this guy possessing garrosh or something?
No, some people think Garrosh was being possessed by Y'Shaarj, but Garrosh done what he did with the heart willingly
ah, ok, thanks for the correction :)
lliart no garrosh was possessed. garroh thought he could control the old god but he couldnt.
3DTyrant no garrosh was possessed. garroh thought he could control the old god but he couldnt
Leon Hetmann where did you read that? I thought the entire point was that he willingly used the heart for his own personal power gain
That breath. That fucking breath at 1:28. God fucking damn, that's horrifying.
disagree, imho the music makes it.
crazy talk but take these and connect them with jaina and illidan
Wtb remake of yogg'Saron and C'Thun
Wait so he's not actually dead, can the old gods even be killed? and how come I want to join them since I don't like the titans at all :/
Donquixote Doflamingo He is fully dead now, the whispers were from his heart - the Titans killed Y'shaarj not knowing the impact it would bring (the Sha, in this case) and imprisoned his heart under the Vale.
3DTyrant But how does he send whispers through the axe that you can equip if he's dead?
Donquixote Doflamingo I would think it's just a fun little something Blizzard added because they could, no real lore reasons as fas as I know.
3DTyrant
The axe (being a part of Y'Shaarj) resonates Y'shaarj's will, like a real life echo (not sentient, just "echoes" random stuff that Y'shaarj would say till its powers run off).
+Aizen Sōsuke You cannot kill an old god. You can never kill an Old god. They exist outside our state of consciousness. They exist outside of life and death.
Wasn't this Old God female?...why does it sound male?
Beings born from the void don't have a gender lol
Why did you think it was female?
the music totally destroyed this : /
Xal'atoh
Probably the worst of the 5. He just sounds like an evil character doesn't have that presence like the other ones do. The voice work is good but not for an old god even worse when you consider he was supposed to be the strongest one.
