Karoy Anderson and Jon Russell were wasted call ups. They were left to warm the bench while Kasey, an AM, and Joel, a CB, were used in the CDM/CM roles.
The squad only had one right-back.
The 442 formation doesn't allow the coach to play certain players in their preferred roles. Like Bobby Reid, who is a RW, and Kasey Palmer, who is CAM.
The squad was also short of an additional CDM and CM. Too many CBs.
