I got the M1 in white a few weeks ago. It’s my daily driver now. I went with TX stabs, force break mod, and tape mod. I’m currently using stock Gateron CJ switches and Akko blue on white ASA keycaps.
I could barely feel the gasket on mine. I removed the bottom foam, did polyfill, and tape mod. I still could barely feel the gasket compared to my other kb. I'm new to this, am I doing something wrong?
I honestly prefer the Finalkey v65 over the m1, has all the features this have plus Fr4 plate and keycaps and wireless, for me wireless is a must. But i hav to say this is a very tempting kit, if they come with the akko plate mount stabs, akko screw in stabs are garbage, just like you said, i also had i bad time with them, they came free with my mod 006, in the end i replaced all of them.
Get the q1. I dont know how people can recommend the knob of the m1. Its so unresponsive that its useless most of the time. Sold the m1 and will never buy anything from that company. Terrible.
Man... I already bought it and it is amazing!!! I pared it with piano switches and black, purple, pink keycaps. But my question is.... What is the cable that you have with it? It looks so amazing and I can only find the coiled cable that I don´t like that much Thanks a lot
I ordered the Monsgeek M1 and I think I'll follow your mods since they sound SO good. I was wondering what would it sound like if you used PE foam for the case instead of Polyfill? Would it be more clacky or thocky?
is this good for first time going from gaming keyboard to custom keyboard. can you suggest the best budget switches linear for this keyboard? do i need to replace the stock platemounted stabs? if yes is durock v2 lubed+holee would be better? thanks
@@itsxrk3241 Not all gaming keyboards are "noticeably faster". Some "gaming keyboards" are marketed as gaming because of their aesthetics and not because of the performance, much less very noticeably faster than other decent keyboards out there.
you can go with all the popular budget switches like the gateron yellow, jwk yellow or those akko linear switches. Those work just fine for gaming since they have low actuation forces!
@@LupinLuu It's not stupid compared to today's gaming keyboards. Clearly you don't know what you are talking about, nobody is buying a gk61 or smth for games anymore. Its all steelseries and other brands. Keep modernity in mind
internation version is the one that i have. i think both the one from official shoppee and international version is via/qmk compatible. best to ask seller to be sure
Thank you for the shout out Doc!
Great video~

For the TX Stabs, did you use 1.6 mm or 1.2 mm?
Q1 and Gmmk Pro killer , i like it !
Sounds really good!
Beautiful board, I'll purchase it. And mod it. Gave a like.
Lovely review! I love your channel!
Akko please make screw in version of the double shot plate mount stabs and sold them separately :(((

agree with all points.
will be getting my finalkey v65 soon, on paper seems like a very good competitor to the M1
@@ThockyDocKey very nice! Looking forward to see that review!
i dont have any issues with the akko stabs maybe its just a batch issue idk?
A great great video. Full of detailed information and good explanation. If you were to pick one favorite. Would you pick the M1 or the Q1 knob?
Both good. But probably the M1 right now

Unfortunately they may not be producing the white model anymore due to it being more expensive to manufacture.
Interesting I ordered a white and red one just seen the white is painted and the red is anodized
@Eli I’m still waiting on both to show up in the mail.
Actually it's better cus white is spray painted and the pain very easy to be ruined
I just got the white one. It’s very nice. I’ve had no issue with paint quality but it’s still very new.

Hi Doc, I'm wondering why for your build you used Durock V2 for the stabs but TX stabs for the spacebar?
Why don't you use the stand offs? What's the benefit behind it?

One thing you must keep in mind. Gaming keyboards are very noticeably faster so if u don’t play games trying to be very good then you will play worse.

Nice vid
Sadly, the monsgeek 1 costs the same price as the Mod 007 here in Europe. About 150€
No that's on AKKO's website, it costs $100 on Monsgeek's website. Not counting taxes
Doc, would like to see a review on the v65 by final key
coming soon :)
is the one from shopee QMK comptabile? is it the international version?

Doc! nagulat po ako nung nakilala ko boses niyo naalala ko review niyo sa TN haha. Ganda po ng sound ng build niyo.
hahahha. small world. welcome to my world of budol! hahhaa
may i ask do you use the 1.2mm PCB or 1.6mm PCB tx stabs for the spacebar?
1.6mm
I used 1.6 mm TX stabs on my M1 so I can confirm they work.
Anybody know if the M1 pcb is compatible with the Akko mod007 ?
tanong lang idol kasama naba yung mga foam pag binili at tape pang mod?
yup kasama na
