  • @yayinternets
    @yayinternets 3 года назад +1

    For whatever it's worth, the things you thought were a radar detector and audio equipment were some period mods.
    The top is a GReddy Turbo Timer. They would let the car idle after you turn off the ignition so the oil would cool down until it would cut off the engine. At the time, synthetic oils weren't as common so a lot of people would run them (including myself) to keep turbos from getting oil coking.
    The thing at the bottom is a GReddy Profec B boost controller. They were the ones to buy back in the day at least.
    I got into the import scene in the late 90s and went to the opening night of the first F&F movie with a bunch of other DSM guys. That movie, for better or worse, definitely changed everything going forward!

The car was also in the background garage sceen where the drift race is happening. So technaqly it was in three movies. Hero #1 car is in Europe and was the only one with a true manual transmission, high $ mods on the motor and actually was a fast car. High eleven to low twelve seconds and not ten.

    Ghibli is stunning. Ferrari Daytona, Lamborghini Muira, and the Maserati Ghibli were cars that rightly, and deservedly were first to be called "Supercars".
    They deserve that title even today, and in my opinion, no modern versions of either Maserati or Ferrari or Lamborghini can hold a candle to these cars. Interestingly enough, the Ghibli had a solid rear axle with leaf springs. Bora was the successor to the Ghibli, and it was also absolutely gorgeous; being a mid engine car, it naturally had independent rear suspension.
    Ghibli Spyder is arguably one of the prettiiest cars to ever grace our roads.
