Johann Sebastian Bach's chorale prelude Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland, BWV 599, is a brilliant example of his masterful ability to combine simplicity with profound symbolism. This short yet intense piece opens the Orgelbüchlein, evoking in many a sense of reverence, anticipation, and, in my opinion, the deepest melancholy, dressed in the most beautiful of garments.
The chorale melody, an adaptation of Martin Luther's hymn, is presented in the upper voice with a sharp and somewhat stubborn character, while the pedal voice moves in wide leaps, which could very well be interpreted as leaps of hope-for life, for the new?
Bach's rich and plentiful dissonances further enhance the sense of longing and contrast, tension and resolution, in my view, and the subdued intensity of the chorale invites us into something of a meditative experience, where the music becomes, yes, for lack of better words, a prayer.
맨발이 좋네요❤❤❤
Me too, I feel more connected to the instrument that way. I don't play with gloves on my hands, for the same reason. ;)
A beautiful chorale arrangement by J.S. Bach. I love his organ music very much and play a lot of organ music in the baroque style myself, as an improvisation, whereby I always hope that I don't play too much wrong... Unfortunately, I never learned it in a music school, I taught myself everything. But I make an effort and enjoy making music.
Best regards, Roland
Thank you for sharing your passion for Bach's organ music, Roland! It's inspiring to hear that you’ve taught yourself to play and improvise in the baroque style. The love and effort you put into your music shines through your words, and it’s clear that you find joy in every note. Remember, the beauty of music lies in the emotion and dedication behind it. Keep playing and enjoying the journey - Bach himself would surely appreciate your devotion! Best regards and happy playing!
I would like to be there...
