Sweet! "People Everyday" was the second single from Arrested Development's 1992 debut album, 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of... It was one of my favorite albums that year and I played it quite often well into the next year. Arrested Development formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1988 and presented its music as a positive, Afrocentric alternative to the gangsta rap of the era. "People Everyday" interpolates "Everyday People", a Sly & the Family Stone hit from 1969. But where "Everyday People" is a celebration of joy, there is a seam of haunting sadness in "People Everyday" with its message against gun violence that still resonates thirty plus years later.
PS. Los Angeles soul ska funk rock band Fishbone released their third album, The Reality of My Surroundings, in 1991. It was one of my favorite albums that year before the other two years. It also featured the single, "Everyday Sunshine", in the tradition of "Everyday People". Although it's a different song the inspiration is flows from a similar place, with a touch of sadness in the celebration and a groove that never quits. Check it out when you can.

‘Celebration of life, death, & the struggle of our ancestors…’. The music is kind of loud in the mix. The volume should’ve been raised for the talking intro. You did great understanding the meaning of the song/story!
