    This is a simple no-fuss way of planting. LOL. dig hole, place the plant, cover with soil. This will still grow because calamondin is relatively easy citrus tree to grow but if you want optimum healthy growth (as most growers do) you're going to want to amend that thick garden soil and improve drainage plus add compost before placing the plant or else the roots will have some problems and affecting your entire plant. Just some tips.

  • @samking1930
    @samking1930 4 года назад

    Correct me if i'm wrong, i think there is a proper way to plant calamansi tree where you need to look for what they call "kwelyo" or "collar" and remove the "fake" roots above it as well as the surrounded roots that wrapped around inside the container, then bury it under the soil up to the collar level. This will prevent the tree from stunting its growth.

      @PlantLoversDiary  4 года назад

      Hi @Karen Co, yung sa amin mga 1 month after ilipat sa lupa nagkabulaklak na pero di pa tumuloy sa pagiging bunga. Dinidiligan namin ng organic fertilizer na gawa namin yung mga calamansi para mas maging healthy. Ang mga ginagamit namin ay yung grass clipping fertilizer at rice water (hugas bigas). Pwede niyo po yun itry gamitin kung wala pa kayo ginagamit na ibang organic fertilizer. May video sa channel namin kung paano gawin yung mga nasabi kong fertilizer. Gaano po kalaki yung nabili niyong grafted na kalamansi tsaka may bunga na rin po ba siya nung binili niyo kasi kung same size po yung grafted kalamansi niyo na medyo maliit kagaya nung nasa video ok lng rin naman na wag niyo masyado madaliin yung pagbulaklak niya para magfocus muna sa paglaki. 😊 Reply lang kayo if may tanong pa kayo. Sana po nakatulong yung sagot ko. Thank you sa panunuod ng video namin. 😊

      Hi @Kara Effect, Calamansi / Calamondin is smaller than lemon and it will not turn yellow when ripe. It looks more like a small lime. Both lemon and calamansi / calamondin are citrus fruit and sometimes calamasi can be a substitute to lemon and vice versa. You can also use calamansi for cooking and you can extract it to make a calamansi juice. Thank you so much for watching our video! Hope my comment answered your question. How often to water the calamansi?

    • @PlantLoversDiary
      @PlantLoversDiary  3 года назад +1

      Hi Ariel, if it’s summer and there’s no rain the whole day, we usually water our calamansi twice a day ( morning and afternoon ) because it is exposed to sun for 8 hrs. If your calamansi is not exposed to sun for the whole day and is located in partly shaded area you may water it once a day. Thanks for watching our gardening video about calamansi 😊

    • @PlantLoversDiary
      @PlantLoversDiary  4 года назад

      Hi @Art Cangayda, yes po.Totoong matagal mamunga ang calamansi na tumubo galing sa seeds. Normally po tumatagal ito ng mga 5 years bago mamunga. Kapag grafted calamansi/kalamansi mga months lang namumunga na kagaya nung nasa video namin na binili at tinanim. Maliit pa lang yung calamansi plant ay may mga bunga na dahil grafted. I have grown many plants from seeds. They are not about 20 inches tall, but I have read somewhere, that growing from seed can mean it might not grown fruits, and if it does, it will take up between 5 to 15 years. Is that true?

    • @PlantLoversDiary
      @PlantLoversDiary  4 года назад +1

      Hi xander, it is true that it will take longer time for a plant to grow or bear fruits when you planted it from seeds compared to grafted ones. For example, a calamansi plant might take 2 years before it bear fruits from seeds while it will only take months for a grafetd calamansi like in the video. For other tress like avocado it might take 5 years minimum to bear fruits which is longer than calamansi. However, I don't think it is true that it will not bear or grow fruits if planted from seeds. A plant will grow fruits whether it is planted from seed, grafted or marcotted if proper care is given to them. Thank you so much for watching our gardening video! 😊 Please let me know if you have other questions. 😊 Happy Gardening!

      @@PlantLoversDiary Thank you so much. I am so happy they are growing well, and it if takes 2-3 years before they grow fruits that is ok.
