Something that worked for me for some reason: Settings>Display and Brightness>View, change the view from standard to zoomed and it fixes, than go back to the zoom setting you want.

If anyone is noticing their screen automatically dimming, even though you have that setting turned off - there is another spot in which I found it “on”. Go to Settings>Accessibility>Display & Text size> auto brightness (at the bottom). Turn it off.
So even though I had it set in display settings as off, there was another “auto brightness” I found which was turned on.

Water Damage low brightness issue-
Go to setting~Display&Brightness~view~Zoomed-set
It’s working guy’s
Later on you can change zoomed to standard again if you want it normal

Wow man I was very half hearted checking why my screen was not going to full screen. Tried the first fix reduce white point and no improvement, went back & saw you had a another fix in zoom filters which I’d have never tried if I’m honest yet lo and behold I must have switched on the low light filter somehow not sure how but my screen is back to hurting my eyes bright and 100% Perfect! yes. iphone sucks for gaming. no way to solve this. it gets hot, or app demands too much of the hardware, the screen dims
it gets too dark to play . I play COD mobile. Used to play on android (xiaomi mi 9) and it is SO MUCH BETTER

@@pplo When gaming you need to put your phone batter saving mode, and if you want to take a step further, put your phone on silent mode too. This will help to prevent the phone from overheating , or significantly reduce it. It really works.

yeah. getting pretty mad with this phone. I had a Xiaomi where I used to play cod mobile. it broke the screen and I tought about getting back to ios. I paid more than double on th iphone comparing to xiaomi mi 9 I had. xiaomi kicks iphone ass on games and other high demanding apps.

Guys i went to niagra and i had this bug I thought my phone needs a repair i saw a comment which said that go to display and brightness settings then go to zoom and then increase it
It will definitely work try it i thought it had water damage but everything was alright i was just on the verge to repair it and screen replacement was for 250 dollars which is extremely expensive and the guy said that he was not responsible for damage of the older screen if it geta damaged in the procedure.

sell it. it won't stop dimmering the screen, specially when the game requires more processing and stuff. It's really annoying, I switched from a xiaomi mi 9 to iphone 11...
xiaomi is so much better for games. WAY BETTER. it has some manager that directs all the resources to the game, there's "game's settings" (like TVs have), you can make the screen really bright and really colorful..
I play cod mobile and I can say: the phone is bringing me down. I used to rock the games, and evolve much faster w xiaomi. iphone sucks for games, unfortunately
